Now, here's a death that happened yesterday morning, but I didn't find out about it until very late that night right before I went to bed.
Bill Rafferty died at age 68. Right now, the cause of his death is unknown. He was a game show host back in the 1980's. He hosted three game shows, and each of his game show stints were short-lived. The game shows he hosted were Every Second Counts in syndication in 1984, the syndicated version of the revival of Card Sharks from 1986 to 1987, and the 1987 revival of Blockbusters on NBC.
Speaking of Blockbusters, the original host of the UK version of that show, Bob Holness, died in his sleep at age 83 on January this year, and that same version got a revival four months later with Simon Mayo at the helm.

I like Top Gun but he also made Days of Thunder which is my all-time favorite movie. What a shame, I really liked his style of filmmaking and several of his other films are in my DVD collection too including "Man on Fire," "Beverly Hills Cop II," "The Last Boyscout," the remake of "The Taking of Pelham 123" and his final film "Unstoppable." I bought my brother "Crimson Tide" in a gift set for Christmas one year too.
I was shocked when I read he killed himself this morning, apparently he had just been diagnosed with a fatal disease and choose to end it. The bridge he jumped off is the same one where they filmed the climax jump of the movie "Gone in 60 Seconds" with Nic Cage. Our thoughts are with the family.

Yesterday, famous Muppet performer, Jerry Nelson, died at 78. He's known as the voice of Kermit's nephew Robin, Gonzo's girlfriend, Camila, and on Sesame Street, he was Herry Monster, Sherlock Hemlock, the Count and Snuffleupagus. I think he also did Gobo on Fraggle Rock. Wow. So many great voices in the Muppet world! He will surely be missed.

Well I don't know if this is the appropriate place to announce this, but I want to announce this.
Today, Neil Armstrong, the first person to ever set foot on the moon, died today from complications following a surgery to relieve blocked coronary arteries that took place on August 7th
He was only 82 years old.

I heard. What a shame. He helped the US space program get to places we never though. God speed, Neil!

R.I.P. Neil. The world is a better place because he and those in the Apollo program with him had the courage, the skills and the cool resolve under pressure to literally do the impossible.
Nobody could stay calm when everything started to go wrong like Armstrong, there's a reason his name is going to be in every history book of the human race.

I just heard today that American crooner, Andy Williams, died today at the age of 84. He's most known for his rendition of the Christmas carol, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year". I guess this means that as of today, Tony Bennett is the last crooner standing.
