I was reading the news paper and i found something interesting. Pixar are famous for standing out of the crowd, back in the 90s they stood out for their CGI but now since every animated film is CGI what do they do? Start doing hand drawn animation. FINALLY! Good to see that hand drawn cartoons are not dead. And not only that but Pixar have been confirmed to be making a new "Winnie the Pooh" movie (hand drawn animation), Taking it back to A.A.Mills original tales. Other hand drawn movies will be "The Princess & The Frog" and "The Bear and the Bow" These movies sound interesting and it be good to see some real hand drawn animated movies again. This is Babclayman with the Pixar news See ya ;D

I knew about this for a while now. When Disney sold off their animation desks after the dismal failure of Treasure Planet Pixar was the one that bought them.
I told ya, cel animation is NOT DEAD!!

"The Princess & The Frog" is Disney not Pixar.
Still great to hear, Pixar has taken the lead in the animated films market and if they think hand-drawn animation is still bankable than it likely is.

I don't know why, but I find this idea of Pixar's to be ridicule. I mean, it is nice to see somebody doing cell animation again, but that's not what Pixar has been known to do. I think it's just sick and wrong for Pixar to be making a movie based on a character that Disney already made, and I'm pretty sure "The Bear and the Bow" is going to be CG.

Just because they been known to do other form of animation doesn't mean the shouldn't give cel a go. Besides; Pixar have had training since Teasure Planet so that should be enough time.
Also; what so sick about remaking Winnie the Pooh? They are actually doing to A.A.Mills original stories like the very first one and because it's Pixar; you know it's going to be good (They are probably one of the only few people that actually makes a sequal look good e.g. "Toy Story 2")
I say, let them do what they want; if they want to do cel; good for them; they stand out from the crowd and it's about time someone does cel again. I also believe their Winnie the Pooh will be good too.
Only time will tell so best not to judge until we see for ourselves. Who knows; we might like Pixars cel version better.

As a response to what you said, bab:
I think it sounds like a cool idea, but I'm a little nervous of the outcome. I'm kind of fearing that this upcoming Winnie the Pooh movie will end up becoming like what "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" had become. It's going to turn out that a young audience will find it to be way better than the original, and people around the world will turn their backs on the original and try to pretend it doesn't even exist.
Now, allow me to bring up "Toy Story 3". I am glad to hear that the rumours about there being a third installment to the "Toy Story" series are true, but I have also been hearing that it was going to be done in cell animation, and it was going to be a direct-to-DVD release or a made-for-TV movie. Could someone please clarify this for me?

Well, we'll just have to wait and see. On Toy Story 3; that will be done cgi (the first 2 were cgi, why differ for the third) Here is the trailer www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f-MYl-HzNwThe plot is; the toys are dumped in a nursery when Andy goes to college. I think The original plot was Buzz is recalled and sent back to Taiwan and the others need to go rescue him before he is destroyed. I think i prefered the original idea than this nursery one.

I like both ideas for the TS3 movie, but to me the original one is a bit better.
And yay, cel animation!

I know that in light of the original Disney/Pixar soon-end, Disney was going to do Toy Story 3 (and make it different due to copyrights), but that isn't the case now.
Does anyone else think Toy Story 3 is probably going to be the worst of the three? What sounds like the final plot doesn't sound very appealing.

Yeah, the plot of the day care center doesn't sound appealing to me. I feel the Taiwan plot was alot better. So i guess i agree with you Trey. I might be going to see Toy Story 1 in 3D tonight at the cinema. That should be fun seeing how it all started in 3d

You're right, Trey. I was thinking that too. It is possible that Toy Story 3 might be the worst of the trilogy.
I started thinking about this and compared it to the Care Bears Trilogy and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy.
The first movie is a great movie, a little dark, but it's still really fun and at the end, it leaves a happy feeling in your heart.
The second movie is a little more kid-friendly, and it's also funnier. It's not as good as the original but forgivable.
The same things happened in the Care Bears and Ninja Turtles movies. However, the third installment of both of those series' turned out to be a terrible mess.
That's sort of what I'm fearing might be the outcome of Toy Story 3.

Well, on the subject of Toy Story 3; here is the new trailer for the movie. Demonstrating the plot www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZrNW8nAiuMIt seems interesting. Pixar are good at making sequals so this should be good.

Pixar are good at making sequals so this should be good. That's a little suggestive to say, don't you think? As far as I know, Pixar has only made one sequal: Toy Story 2. Most Pixar fans find the second one to be better than the first one, but everyone has different reasons as to why. Going back to my thoughts on Toy Story 3 sucking, that may be debatable too. I mean, Toy Story 2 came out four years after the first one, which was a pretty long stretch. It's now been ten years since 2 came out, so it gave the company some time to work on it. I mean, if they made this trilogy, and released them consecutively after another, then 2 and 3 would have sucked. Of course, that wouldn't have happened anyway, because this was the 90's, and back then, the technology was new and too advanced for a lot of animators. I'll just keep my fingers crossed and see if Pixar takes a step in the right direction this time.
