I’ve recently taken an interest in this movie. It’s Spanish, and it had an extremely limited release here in the states, but it already has an English dub and it’s getting a DVD release early next year. I doubt that very many people have heard of it, but [url=http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117941508.html?categoryid=31&cs=1
]Variety gave it a decent review[/url] and I rather like these animal cartoons so I’m looking forward to it. Here is the official synopsis.
Kandor Moon, the company that created the movie, also created a 2D music video that features most of the characters; it’s rather simplistic and not everybody will like it, but I thought that it was kind of cute. At the very least people can see scenes from the movie through that if they’re interested; they start about halfway through.
This website provides a little behind-the-scenes look at some aspects of the movie’s creation. Naturally, this didn’t have a budget comparable to Hollywood’s latest and greatest. Just to give you an idea, it cost roughly six million dollars to make while DreamWorks’ “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” cost roughly one-hundred and fifty million dollars. That’s quite a difference. In order to make the most of it, they cut a few corners here and there; such is the reason why the animals’ fur and feathers look the way that they do. I don’t really have a problem with it, but I know that some people will dislike the lack of detail. Here is a brief rundown of the characters.
Felix, a jinxed lynx whose bad luck has caused him countless injuries.
Lynxette, a female lynx introduced to Felix in hopes of saving the species.
Noah, an eccentric millionaire with an unconventional plan to save endangered animals.
Newmann, a renown hunter who has agreed to capture animals for Noah.
Gus, a paranoid chameleon who can’t control his camouflage.
Astarté, a migrating hawk with a no nonsense attitude.
Beety, a goat who lives on the wild side and isn’t afraid of danger.
Rupert, a mole concerned about his family since his wife recently gave birth.

Meet Felix the Lynx: an endangered feline prone to accidents. Together with his motley crew of animal friends, they’re now fighting for their lives as they try to escape the blood thirsty Newmann – a world famous hunter hired by the eccentric millionaire Noah in his well meaning, but dangerous plan to rescue every pair of endangered species on earth.
