Saw this one yesterday. Now, when it comes to Disney's line of direct-to-DVD sequels, most people are reluctant to watch them, but some people like to be adventurous and try them out. I'm one of the types who likes to be adventurous and explore the great unknown. You could unearth a lost gem or a turd covered in vomit. This was a turd covered in vomit. Now, as we all know, Flo's character, Amber, was inspired by a character from this movie, Dixie. The problem I had with this movie is that it's loaded with continuity issues. How can it be called "The Fox and the Hound 2". It's not a sequel. In fact, it's not even a prequel. It's actually an untold chapter from the original movie; I guess the technical word for this would be a "midquel". If you've seen the first movie, you should know how it plays out. Tod and Copper start out young, and then they grow up to be adults. However, in this sequel, Tod is still a cub, and Copper's still a puppy. So how in all blue hell did Disney get away with this? Somebody please tell me. I think I might lose my mind on this one!

Well, I guess there's really not much point in arguing since a majority of Disney's sequels are inferior to the original, but this one just blows my mind!

The original version is much better. I think the sequel doesn't have a good history and Disney only did this to get some money. The characters were very poorly designed. This sequel did lose all the magic of the original movie. The only thing I like is the music "You Know I Will" that Lucas Grabeel sings

Now I agree that this movie should have been a 'midquel' instead, I just cannot call it a sequel.
Plus, there are some problems with this movie, that I'm not sure if anyone noticed.
Firstly, I thought that Todd's and Copper's owners lived in the middle of nowhere oO; now we suddenly get information about a county fair and that was NEVER mentioned in the first film. Secondly at the fair, we see the one guy (forget who he was, but a little girl was guiding him around) and he had a really fancy- almost modernish looking car.. again, did this stuff exist in the movie's time period???
But with this movie I'm pretty inbetween. I think it's an okay film, but not really 'omgawesomeclassic!'

I personally liked the animation of this film, but the story line should have been improved. The movie didn't fit in with the sequel at all. :/ I thought Disney did a good job with the art, animation, and coloring however.

I always thought that a sequel for the Fox and the Hound should've been about Tod and Vixey, so I was a bit disappointed when one did come out and I saw that Tod and Copper were still young in it. I thought it was all right, though, for a sequel. The only thing that really bothered me about it was the new voice of Chief. I liked some of Rob Paulsen's other work but he is no Pat Buttram. It will be hard to find a perfect replacement for him.

I think a normal Fox and the Hound 2 would go like this.......................... Tod and Vixey have pups. Meanwhile Copper finds a lonely Hound female and have pups with her. Somehow Tod's pups and Copper's pups meet up and hate each other now somehow they have to work together in an adventure and become best friends knowing they need to work together to return home. THE END!!! I think it would go something like that. I personally liked Fox and the Hound 2.
