It’s difficult to say which episode of 101 Dalmatians: The Series is the best of all time, but having contemplated the subject for well over a decade now, I honestly believe “The Making Of…” is the best episode. It had such an original premise for an animated program and through my 20+ years of watching animation, I have never seen another animated program do what that episode did. It was also funny, even if I do believe that they could have done more with the pop-culture references, and it had my favorite line in the entire series.
Cadpig: From the black hole of eternity, I am born a runt! (Still images of other characters slide, revealing Cadpig on a pineapple behind them) Cadpig: So, I get the part? (The producers all indicate yes; the scene changes to Lucky) Lucky: That was great, but what did it mean? Cadpig: The pineapple symbolizes evil.
The look on Lucky’s face after that last line summed it up perfectly and the whole exchange was just delightfully absurd. I have to wonder what the writer was smoking when they came up with that.
The exchange between Perdita and Pongo was also one of my favorite quotes in the series.
Perdita: We… We assumed that since we were the stars of the movie, we’d be the stars of the series, too. Pongo: (sadly) Yeah, the studio decided to go for a younger look. Perdita: But we’re not bitter. (Perdita rips through a 101 Dalmatians: The Series poster with her claws)

I don't know. This is a very well-made episode, but I think calling it the best of the series is a bit of an overkill to me. I mean, it's basically a fake documentary of the series that's loaded with pop culture parodies and not to mention the characters acting out of character. It definately deserves it's praise, but if I was making a list of the Top 10 best episodes of the series, I wouldn't put it at #1; I don't think it would even be in the Top 10. Just my thoughts.

David Spade probably said it best: "Never gets old."

One thing I've noticed that's always bothered me about this episode is that in Lucky's opening spiel at the start of the episode, he credited Walt Disney for the series...considering Walt Disney died 30 years prior to the series! It's just like the DVD of Game of Death II claiming that it stars Bruce Lee, even though it doesn't. It's false advertising that persists to this very day!

You do know; "Walt Disney" is also the name of the Studio too, Belchic? You know, how some Trailers are like; "Walt Disney Pictures Presents"?
They do this, with a number of Disney Films and Shows, so they're nt refering to Walt Disney to person, they're refering to "Walt Disney Studios". Though, Walt Disney does work on the; "Animated" "101 Dalmatians" in the Film case, Eh? ;3
That make some more sense, Belchic? ;3

I could be mistaken, but I think the girl in this episode that is watching TV is also voiced by Kath Soucie.
I’m talking about the one that says, “Waaaah! The bad lady scares me!” and “Dalmatians! Cute! I want more of them, Daddy.”
