The "Homeward Pound" DVD actually has five episodes Belchic (the title one, K-9 Kid, Zoltron, Quintuplets, and My Fair Rebound"), all of which are from the first season. Quints was one of the most 101-referenced episodes (complete with the Rolly expy) while K-9 Kid is regards as one of the show's best S1 episodes (thus Pepper's encore episode later).
For the most part "So Okay It's Average" seems to sum up this show well in the eyes of the majority.

Most see it as "Average," not bad. With merchandise-driven shows who knows what's coming next. If the toys are selling they may just get renewed. The Hub certainly seems to like to plug this show, MLP, and LPS together as a unit ("Pony, Pony, Puppy, Puppy, Pet, Pet Shop. It's a three-hour Cute-a-Thon every Saturday morning at 9 a.m.") and I don't see anything they could use as a replacement (She-Zow's doesn't fit, The Twisted Whiskers Show is already cancelled, Strawberry Shortcake doesn't appeal to boys like Pound Puppies does).

True, but what about Transformers Prime and G.I. Joe: Retalliation. Those definitely appeal to boys without a doubt.
Then again, G.I. Joe is canceled, and Transformers is more of a prime time weeknight show on the Hub, plus they seem to be doing a new Transformers show, and I think they may also have another one planned after that.
As far as I see about Pound Puppies, I see that it's only been given average feedback from the viewers, and compared to MLP and LPS, it's obviously very poor in terms of how merchandise-driven it is (seeing the lack of toys, and even the DVDs aren't a selling very well). If you ask me, I doubt the Hub will be ordering a new season, but I'm sure they'll continue to air reruns for a while for historical purposes. After all, Pound Puppies was one of the Hub's launch titles.

If it wasn't worthy of extra seasons or popular enough, it wouldn't have had a Second Season in the first place...it wouldn't even have a third season in the first place.
Besides, people disliked Season Three of MLP, and that's still getting a Forth Season, right?

But it's got three seasons now and is about to reach its 65th episode.
The difference between this show and MLP is that MLP is EXTREMELY POPULAR and has a huge fan base and cult following that I think even surpassed Spongebob Squarepants and The Simpsons!
Also, about the third season, I though I heard that many people liked that season, maybe even better than the first two seasons, and they WANT to see Alicorn Twilight more.

Bronies are a major group but they are still a sideground...they just all have internet connections.
There's no shame with a cartoon ending at 65 episodes, hey at least it got there despite all the troubles in the first season. If they do end the show I hope they go out with a bang; maybe a final episode where Strudle, Squirt and Niblet are adopted (Cookie has her people, Lucky technically has that annoying girl as his person). Be interesting to see where they'd end up (maybe back with the frisbee guy for Squirt and off to the farm with Giblet for Niblet). Or maybe Lucky and Cookie finally hook up?

Out of curiosity, where might be the best place to shop for that DVD that Trey happened to pick up?

Most likely online, like Amazon.
How come some shows have DVD's that one never sees in stores?

That's just the way society has become these days. Pretty soon, all shopping will be done online. Adding on to your question, though: I think a bigger question is why some shows like "101 Dalmatians" never see a DVD release at all?
Back on topic: I saw an advertisement on the Hub that talked specifically about Lucky. He has been classified as an "All-American Mutt". Though, the images of actual dogs of that breed, none of them looked like Lucky at all.

Homeward Pound and the other Pound Puppies DVDs have been released to stores but in small numbers awhile ago and most have probably sold out. A specialized store that sells lots of DVDs (like Best Buy or FYE in a mall) may have it. A local Wal-mart probably wouldn't, maybe Target but it's a toss up (specialized is a better bet)

Ay-yi-yi. What to say about this episode? How about... BEST EPISODE EVER? Well, maybe not quite, but I got a lot to say about it. First off, seeing the dogs on the yacht made me wonder how they all snuck on there. Solo reminded me a lot of Lucky Dearly. Of course, that's no big surprise since most of the male pups on this show seem to act like him. I think Lucky seperated the team rather perfectly in this episode. I don't know why, but I kinda cracked up over Lucky and Cookie reacting to the volcano and saying it was their tummies rumbling. Solo finds an oasis and runs into Timon and Pumbaa--er, I mean, Papaya and Weasel...who teach them about Hakuna Mata--er, I mean, being lazy in paradise. The song in this episode was actually a well-produced musical number like the ones we see on MLP. Seeing this and knowing there are only 2 episodes left of the season, that could mean the series is really coming to a sad close. That really sucks too because they should end the series if it starts going down the tubes and getting surreal and uninteresting, but Pound Puppies has been doing the polar opposite! Although, like Race said, I'm sure they'll end the series with a bang, but look at MLP: Season 2 ended with a bang, and Season 3 ended with an even BIGGER bang, yet they're still keeping it going! Well, I'm going to keep praying that Hasbro doesn't end it soon. Oh, and also, Lucky got on Cookie's back in this episode.

Things are looking pretty bad right now. I just heard that not too long ago, "Dan Vs." has been canceled. This could mean the same for Pound Puppies. Though, I know MLP is about to start Season 4, and LPS still has it's 2nd season on the line. Still, seeing the Hub pull the plug on one of its most popular shows could mean a bad sign for it's other shows (especially looking at where "Pound Puppies" stands right now).
