This topic is pretty self-explanatory. Talk about any of the movies in the "Land Before Time" franchise.
The original is an absolute classic. Children of the 80's have cherrished this movie so much as a childhood favorite. I share that cherrish. It's one of my favorite movies of all time. The sequels are decent, but none of them can top the original.
I'll talk about some of the sequels sometime later.

I love this movie. It is an absolute classic. I even like all the sequels. It always makes me feel real bad when I think of that little girl who voiced Ducky who got shot by her crazy father before the movie even came out.

I would absolutely love to try writing a RetroJunk on this movie; it's one of the best animated films of the 1980s.

I would absolutely love to try writing a RetroJunk on this movie; it's one of the best animated films of the 1980s. I agree. Although, one thing I don't understand is that this film has such a big fanbase, yet when it comes to 80's movies, nobody ever seems to talk about it. Why is that?

Nobody ever seems to talk about Don Bluth movies or 80's Disney movies for that matter.

Maybe the live action films of that decade get more attention because that was a dark age for animation.

To all fans of this movie who have a YouTube account, I reccomend subscribing to a user named LBTUploader. He uploads a whole bunch of LBT media such as the songs from the sequels, fanarts, video game footage, etc. Today, he just uploaded a mega collection of screenshots from the Laserdisc version of the original movie, and included in the collection are screenshots from deleted scenes, which I thought were really awesome! I really think sometime in 2013, they should reissue this movie in the theaters with all the deleted scenes added in! That would be so epic for fans, and then, they could reissue it as a special 25th anniversary DVD with all these bonus features, like maybe an interview with Don Bluth, or audio commentary by Gabriel Damon, Candace Hutson and Will Ryan.

I had for a long time come up with an idea to turn "The Land Before Time" into a musical stage play. The play will play out like the original movie, but it will have some additional dialogue and scenes put in. Also, since it's a musical, it will have an assortment of songs. The songs used in the musical will all be songs from the DTV sequels. I put some careful thought into which songs will be used in the musical, and at what parts they will be played at, and here's what I came up with:
"Family" - Littlefoot's mother sings this song to him while she's teaching him about sticking to his own kind.
"Grandma's Lullabye" - Rooter sings this song to Littlefoot as he tells him about the circle of life.
"It Takes All Sorts" - Littlefoot sings this as he tries to get Cera to join him on his journey.
"No One Has to Be Alone" - Littlefoot sings this to Ducky as he tries to cheer her up over the loss of her family.
"One of a Kind" - Littlefoot, Ducky and Petrie sing this song when they talk about how Petrie is so unique.
"Girls and Dads" - Cera sings this song before she tells the others about how she discovered Sharp Tooth was still alive.
"Adventuring" - After Ducky introduces Spike to the others, Littlefoot sings this song, which encourages the others to want to go with him.
"Friends for Dinner" - While the dinosaurs are looking for food, they sing this song as Cera continues to warn them about Sharp Tooth.
"Always There" - The main dinos sing this song before they go to sleep.
"Standing Tough" - This is not a scene from the movie, but this shows the adult dinosaur herds trying to stand tough even though they are without their babies.
"If Only" - Littlefoot sings this song after he and the others escape Shap Tooth realizing he had been wrong.
"On Your Own" - Littlefoot sings this after the others decide to seperate themselves from him.
"Things Change" - Cera sings this song after the others save her from the head-butters.
"Big Water" - Ducky and Petrie sing this song when they're afraid to go in the water before they encounter Shap Tooth again.
"Flip, Flap and Fly" - Petrie sings this song when he finally learns how to fly, but gets interupted when Ducky cries for help.
"Bestest Friends" - Cera, Ducky and Petrie sing this to Littlefoot to try and cheer him up because he still misses his mother.
"Peaceful Valley" - The main dinos sing this song when they arrive at the Great Valley.
"If We Hold On Together" - The cast sings this song at the very end of the play as a grand finale.

I used to like the Land Before Time, and I still like the first five movies but I lost interest in them after those.

I'm going to try to come up with a list that ranks the movies in my opinion from best to worst.

I liked The Land Before Time when I was a kid, but after so many movies I just kept wondering 'are they ever gonna stop popping out these films?!'
Though if I may add, to me the TV series that was shortly run was a really bad idea.

How was it a bad idea? I would have rather seen that then the endless amount of DTV sequels. But I agree, at least have one or the other.

I thought it was a bad idea, mostly because at the time in my opinion they should've let the series die gracefully.

Well, as I said in my Facebook note, if they made the series in 1995 or 1996, I would have thought it was awesome, but they didn't until 2007, when my childhood had passed me by, and that made it very bittersweet for me.
