While NASCAR has a variety of tracks something about the schedule seems...well...lacking. I mean do we really need 2 races each at Phoenix, Texas, and New Hampshire? Here's a post to really have some fun with... If you could rearranged the NASCAR schedule and add some new tracks where would you want NASCAR to run...
I think every fan wants Rockingham and North Wilkesboro back on the schedule.
Personally, I'd love to see them race at...
Heartland Park Topeka, 2006 home of the SCCA Run-offs, Heartland Park hosted a few truck races in the 90s. The cool thing about this roadcourse is the fact that the frontstreach is an NHRA drag strip
Road America, the famed road course in Wisconsin actually held a NASCAR race in 1957 (Tim Flock won) and has produced many great moments in racing history.
Nashville Superspeedway, I love the concrete tracks and this modern speedway is too good to only let the Busch guys race at
Kentucky Speedway, heck, all the Cup teams test their already. Why not just give'em a date.
Texas World Speedway, the track in College Station, TX would need some repairs but the fact is this is the only 2 mile oval track in the world not on the NASCAR schedule. It could be fun to go back there.
And maybe a temporary street course like the kind road racers use. Maybe Long Beach or Belle Isle in Detroit. The runways at Burke Lakefront Airport in Celevland might work well as they've hosted IROC before.
And maybe add a race in Europe, show them F1 boys how to really race, perhaps at...
Hockenheim, home of the German Grand Prix. Hockenheim has a really nice layout right in the German country side and really what country loves speed more than Germany and their limit-less Autobahn.
LeMans, pehaps European racing's most hallowed ground, LeMans would make for a big race. If NASCAR did run there they would have to use the Bugatti circuit (used for MotoGP) instead of the Circuit de la Sarthe (used for the 24 Hrs.) because the of the length of the big track is over 8 miles long and would take too long to run.
Monza, Italy has always been known for fast cars and the track at Monza is their best. Besides it's world class road course, Monza actually does have a high banked NASCAR-style Oval track but it is in disrepair and hasn't been used since the 60s.
