Name: Patriot
Species: Dog
Breed: Dalmatian
First FanFic appearence: "Dogs of Thunder," August 2002 (Behind Tic-Tac, he is the "oldest" fan character still in regular use)
Shape: Quadrapedic
Gender: Male
Color: White
Spots: Red and blue
Eyes: Generic black
Build: Average
Sexuality: Straight
Alignment: Between Heroic and Good
Country of Origin: United States of America
Collar: Petty Blue (A popular USA racing color, basically electric sky blue)
Appearance: Name comes from the fact he is literally red, white and blue and the fact that on his hunches are big spots that form a "76" (1776 was the year of American independence). Has a Ford logo dog tag, mainly to counterbalance out Sparky's Chevy one.
Bio: Born at "Highway 3 Pets and More" in Kannapolis, North Carolina; an experiment with food dyes in his blue-spotted mother's food successfully gave him and his siblings (like Cop Car) red spots in addition to their blue. It was attention getting and he and his siblings was quickly, somewhat shadily, sold and wound up in Hell Hall. Rescued with the others and adopted by the Dearlys, Patriot discovered auto racing when a collison with a book shelf while playing with the other pups knocked down a car magazine. The pages flipped open, revealing a big picture of the famous #43 NASCAR race car Richard Petty drove. He was facinated by the race car and looked into the sport that produced it, eventually becoming a very die hard fan of NASCAR and almost all forms of motorsport (minus drifting, he's not a big fan of drifting because it's about style more than speed). Once he reached the farm, he started reading any book he could find about auto repair and eventually got quite good at scavenging the local junkyard for parts and welding them together. He's somewhat become the "Manic Mechanic."
Personality: Patriot possess somewhat of a Southern USA "Good Ole Boy" attitude (think Dukes of Hazzard) combined with that of a very die hard NASCAR fan. He speaks with a mild Southern accent. Often underestimated as a "dumb redneck," he is actually one of the farm's smarter pups (Not on a Tic-Tac or Lucky level, more like on a Doc or Patch level). He is down-to-earth and somewhat of a skeptic when it comes to supernatural events unless he sees them first hand. Somewhat like his country, Patriot is usually quite helpful and friendly, but if provoked can prove to be quite dangerous.
Alliances: Member of the Heroic Harem
Friends: Slayer, Sparky, Doc, Roadhouse, Bo, Lucky, the other Heroic Harem members, several others... (To most, Patriot is kind of friend who you go to when you need him but not the kind who you inveit over every Friday night)
Rivals: Sparky (Mainly on the Ford v. Chevy front)
Romance: Romance-wise, Patriot is linked with Penny. It's implied they take their relationship very slow and keep it private, unlike the very public relationship between Lucky and Two-Tone
Motto:"American made and firing on all eight cylinders"
Personal heroes: Richard Petty, Smokey Yunick, George Washington, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Carroll Shelby
Likes: American cars especially Fords, Motorsports, ZZ Top music, working on cars
Dislikes: Communists, Japanese cars
Tolerates: European cars
