Just my thoughts on the Series =3
Spot is an old chicken on her deathbed. She had a fulfilling life, but not the one she wanted. See, Spot wasn't like any ordinary chicken. She wanted to be a dog.
So, lying there, she wondered. She wondered back to what life would have been like if she were a dog. In a desperate attempt to create this scenario, she fell into a coma, where her mind was God. Whatever she wanted, she got. She just didn't realise it. (Think Haruhi Suzimiya).
Spot, in her own corner of her imagination, woke up one day, as young as she had been before the accident. She always wanted to be a dog. She wished and wished, praying for just one sliver of hope, when the Dearlys arrived. In reality, this place was a run down farm, long since abandoned by the previous owners. But this was where her best memories were, and so this is where her imagination brought her.
In this world, she met with many dalmatian dogs, and eventually came to befriend the main ones - Lucky, Rolly and Cadpig. They accepted her into their group without question. They did have rough times, but these were because of Spot's insecurities - a small fraction of her mind remained, and she knew that this wasn't real.
The group had many adventures together - chasing Cruella, Scorch, the Bark Brigade (where her insecurities tended to show the most). Eventually, after having her fun, the adventures slowed. No longer did she feel the excitement she usually did. Her time was coming to an end. She would wake up soon. And such - Spot unknowingly used her mind to attempt one last adventure - the Dalmatian Vacation.
It was just what she needed. She felt that thrill of being a dog one last time, and she knew time was up. She'd had more than what should have been her fair share, and she was grateful for it. She was finally ready to move on. She woke from the coma shortly after seeing the Dearlys remarried (or just married, as the case would be). She had finally lived the life she had always wanted, and with a smile on her face, she slipped away. [SERIES CANCELLATION]
