Has anyone here got any experience in writing accents for characerts? In case, share what tips you may have here.
One of the most prominent traits with my character Anya is that her English bares such a strong burr, it actually has to be written out as an accent. For some mysterious reason her speech resembles a Scots accent, wheras it would be much more likely to sound Eastern-European or (ambigously) Slavic to be more precise.
Does anyone have any tips on how to write an accent that sounds Russian/Polish or anything of the likes? Also, would anyone be opposed to me changing the way I write Anya's accent?

well I've done a bit of Rebecca's accent in fanfiction writing, and yes it is kinda tough to pull it off.
other accents are kinda tricky, tried to do a russian accent for Jumba Jookiba once too in writing

Heya ^^"
Yes.
It's me.
Before you all bring out the torches, let me just say that I DO have a lot of experience writing in accents. And I can mimic in a lot of accents verbally as well.
So if you need help, I'd be happy to offer some pointers.
The best way to write an accent is to look up audio examples--this is best done through youtube or some other video site. If you can hear it in your head, you'll be able to channel that voice when you write for a character.
Also, try mimicking the accent yourself--play "parrot" with the computer screen. It might sound silly, but once you get a feel for it on your own tongue, it makes writing it out a lot easier.

My advice?

Well, I will say, whilst I was Learning a German Song for Singing, to get the words in my head, I just took the German Words and wrote what I thought they sounded like in English. ^^;
So, it sounded like "Do Mine Ge-Dunk-A. Zien Unt Verden..."
I do hear that's how some Singers do it, although I am sure some Writers do it as well. =3
Still, I think you write, Anya pretty sweet, She always makes me smile when I talk. ;3
Like said, Just write what you think it sounds like, is a guess for me. ;3
Still, I hope this helps, Kit! =3 Looking forward to seeing what you do with the Accents and that. *Hugs* X3
