Yeah, went to Boston for a weeklong-vacation. I'm back now. I don't like to give out my vacation plans until I get back, nobody even noticed I left anyway.

Oooh, Boston, eh? Well, I did notice, you were pretty quiet, this week, so it did hint at something. ^^;

Sorry for the delay on this. My trip was mixed there were lots of good parts but a few lousy ones (like any vacation really)
Good: Boston Duck Tours: A clever tour of the city using an amphibious vehicle based on a World War II design. It's a fun, interactive all ages tour of the city like you can get on any bus but then with a splash it drives out into the Charles River and you get a wonderful view of the city as you go up and back down the river.
Maine: One of the first things we did in New England was drive up out of MA through New Hampshire and into Maine, mostly to go to Freeport for the HQ store of L.L. Bean. Really fun day; I finally got to try a Moxie cola (I liked it but it's a bit stronger than most pops), we had a nice seafood lunch and then we went hiking on the coast in a state park that just sort of stumbled into. Maine is quite beatiful overall.
Moxie: As said, I liked it. Drank a little bottle I got in a rest area vending machine then bought a two-liter and drink that slowly over the rest of the vacation.
New England Revolution: With baseball a non-starter we got our sports fix instead by driving our to Foxboro, MA and seeing the New England Revolution MLS soccer team play. The Revs lost but the game was oddly high scoring for the MLS (3-2) and we had a good time.
"The T": Was fun to ride the Boston subways. Not all of them are the traditional Subway trains either, in Boston a few are more like streetcars.
Necco: Odd fact, our morning commute went by the New England Confection Company's big factory. So that's where all the NECCO Wafers and Clark bars come from!
History: Boston has lots of it, it's one of America's oldest cities and as such has a lot of cool facts and "firsts." We skipped the majority of the Revolutionary War stuff though (long story short: America wins) but they really play it up.
Bad: Fenway Park: Red Soxs fans are such lovers of their team and old stadium it costs far to much to go there so we didn't even consider a night at the ballpark. Probably for the best, the Yankees were in town and you have to be basically willed tickets if you want that matchup
Salem, MA: Home of the Witch Trials, I don't know but it was just a bit of a let down. How long can you keep playing up the fact your town murdered 20 innoncent people?
Big Dig: Putting all the city's highways underground seemed like a great idea in 1991...BUT now that means losing your GPS signal and led to us getting lost at least twice.
Mixed: Whale Watching: Saw a whole bunch of whales which was very cool. Almost got sea sick on the ride out which wasn't.
