The Nostalgia Critic has made by far three videos where he covers some of the mistakes he made in his videos. I have noticed a lot of mistakes he made as well, and I was disappointed that he didn't point them out. So, I got the idea to post this topic and list all the mistakes I noticed that he hasn't gotten to yet. If any other NC fans know of any, please feel free to contribute.
Here's a long list of Muckups I came up with in no particular order:
1. In his Kazaam review, he showed several icons of products that he claimed Shaquille O'Neal advertised. Shaq did advertise Pepsi a lot, I think he may have advertised Vitamin Water, I don't think he ever advertised Taco Bell, and he definitely never advertised Colgate. So some of those, he got wrong.
2. In his review of the Pokemon movie, he said that Team Rocket dressed up as Swedish Vikings. Vikings are Norwegian, not Swedish.
3. In his Old Vs. New on True Grit, he claimed that the remake came out in 2011, but it actually came out in 2010.
4. In his Titanic: The Legend Goes On review, he asked about the movie's male protagonist having a nanny and thought he might be too old to have a nanny, but that's not his nanny, it's his grandmother. Bab told me himself that he addresses his grandmother as Nanny, so it's a regional thing.
5. In his Thief and the Cobbler review, he said that the movie was released in 1993, when really, it was released in 1995. At least that's the year it was released in the U.S.
6. In his Star Chaser review, when he was pointing out all the Star Wars references, he pointed out an AT-ST walker, but he called it an AT-AT walker. AT-ST's are the Chicken Walkers from Endor, while AT-AT's are the Elephant Walkers from Hoth.
7. In his review of The Never-Ending Story Part II, he keeps asking why Bastian doesn't wish the Memory Machine away. Well, there's a reason why he didn't wish it away: HE DOESN'T KNOW IT EXISTS! Maybe he did see the Memory Machine briefly, but he didn't take the time to figure out what it was. Even so, maybe the villain's powers were far too great so the wishes he makes probably have no effect on them.
8. In his Next Karate Kid review, he said that the movie never got its own DVD release and can only be seen as an Easter egg on the Karate Kid III DVD. That's a lie. The movie DID get its own DVD release! I've seen it in stores!
9. I can't believe he didn't include "Cruella De Vil" in his Top 11 Villain Songs. I know Cruella doesn't sing the song, but villain songs don't have to be sung by the villain, they can just be about the villain. You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch wasn't sung by the villain.
10. In his Care Bears Movie II review, he said that True Heart put John and Dawn in charge of taking care of the cubs because of child labor. That's totally wrong. The reason she put them in charge of the cubs is because they thought they weren't good at anything, but she discovered that they were good at taking care of children.
11. In his Top 11 Cereal Mascots, he said that Tony the Tiger was once voiced by Dallas McKennan, but Dallas McKennan never voiced the character. It's always been Thurl Ravenscroft up until 2005.
12. In his Top 11 Dumbasses in Distress, he was completely clueless as to how Scrappy Doo is related to Scooby Doo. It's quite obvious that he's his nephew, because he keeps addressing him as UNCLE SCOOBY!
13. In his Top 12 Christmas specials, he said that A Christmas Story takes place in the 50's, but it doesn't. It takes place in the late 30's/early 40!s.
14. In his Old vs. New on Willy Wonka, he said that one of the styles the Oompa Loompas cover in the Burton film is a 60's Disco, but Disco was 70's (though most people think it was the 80's), not 60's!
15. In his Jack review, he keeps pointing out that 10-year-olds don't do any of the childish things that Jack does. That's not true. There are some things he does that some 10-year-olds tend to do.
16. In numerous videos of his, he keeps making the whole argument about a character being called a princess, but she should be called a queen since her parents are dead. Princesses need to be married before they can become queens!
17. In his James and the Giant Peach review, he does the argument on how James' parents were eaten by the rhino at the very start of the movie, then he makes the joke about if it The Lion King went like that, but he ended it with a The End title card. THAT IS NOT THE END OF THE MOVIE!!!
18. I'm extremely pissed at the fact that he prefers the remake of The Karate Kid over the original. Not that I cared much for the original to begin with, but the remake is still an INSULT to the original!
Those are the muckups I thought of. Anyone else have any they'd like to share or would like to make any responses to mine?
