Those of you, who have read my other fan fic: "'Wanted, Dead' Not 'Alive'", know that Shaw, a domestic, Irish Wolfhound, has tried to capture and kill, my female, wolf OC, Jocelyn, so he can take her carcass to his master, and end the constant chat and mumbling his master has about seeing a young wolf figure out in the distance during a hunting trip w/his friends. And, he tries to figure out ways that he can capture and kill her, w/out Lupus being around to stop him. Although, he is willing to kill Lupus, if it's the only way to get to her.
Well, here's a fan fic I came up with, in which Shaw tries to get at Jocelyn again, but oddly, somethin' has happened to one of the three. I won't tell you which, for you must read to find out.
-
One bright day, on Dearly Farm, a young, female wolf pup was just relaxing, laying out in the fields, enjoying the sunshine. Her name was Jocelyn, and unfortunately, she was an orphan. She had lost her parents to a group of hunters, when her family was fleeing from their den, to escape the hunters one morning. She was the only one of her mother's litter/offspring. The event had made her very depressed. However, thanks to the help of an old friend she had, who lived at the farm, she was able to find a new den, which was Dearly Farm.
"Ahh, it's so nice and quiet here." Jocelyn said to herself. "There's no hunters, and I doubt any human would be willing to harm me as long as I live here. I'm glad Lupus suggested that I stay here. " She just laid there, in the sun, without worrying about much or anything.
However, a distance away, in a house on the outskirts of Gruteley, there lived an adult male human, who was a hunter, and his dog, a male Irish Wolfhound. The Irish Wolfhound's name, was Shaw. While his master was sitting in a chair in the living room of the house, Shaw was laying on his belly, next to the chair, deep in thought about something.
"I wonder if I'll have a chance to get at that wolf today." Shaw thought. "The longer I wait, the longer it'll be before my master shuts up about that figure he once saw. I know where the wolf is, but I can't prove it to him, unless I bring her carcass to my master. Yet, that blasted German Shepherd got in the way!" Shaw thought over this for quite a while until he decided, "Maybe this time, Lupus won't be within earshot of her, and I'll finally have a chance to capture her and drag her corpse here."
Shaw then got up from where he was sitting, walked to the door, and began to paw at it. His master heard him paw at the door, looked at him, and asked, "What is it, Shaw? You want to go out again?" Shaw nodded in response. His master thought this over for about a minute, until he decided, "Okay, Shaw. You may go, but try not to get killed or mortally wounded." Shaw nodded in response, understanding that he should try to not get killed or mortally wounded while he was out. The Irish Wolfhound then stepped through the doggy door, and began walking in a direction away from Gruteley.
"This time, I AM going to get that Jocelyn and bring her carcass to my master." he thought as he walked, towards Dearly Farm, his destination.
Meanwhile, back at Dearly Farm, Jocelyn was lying out in the field, when she started to get a bit thirsty. Dinner wasn't for a couple of hours. So, she got up and began walking around the farm, looking for maybe a stream or something to drink from.
After several minutes, Jocelyn was able to find a stream, of slow-moving, clear water. "Ahh, a nice, clean and clear stream." Jocelyn sighed happily. She then lowered her head, and began to drink from the stream.
However, unknown to her, a distance up the stream, was the labratory of evil, mad scientist, PH Devil, a cousin of Cruella De Vil. PH has made many different serums and chemicals. One that inflated a figure, another that made them glow in the dark, and several other effects. However, a bit of the excess from his youth serum ended up pouring into the very stream that Jocelyn was drinking from down the stream, but its presence in the water wasn't noticeable.
After a couple of minutes of lapping up water, which was slightly contaminated with the youth serum, Jocelyn was no longer thirsty, so she stopped drinking, lifted up her head, and began to walk back to the farm, to the very spot where she was just laying down.
Meanwhile, Shaw had just about made it halfway to the Farm. "I'm almost to my target. And this time, Lupus will NOT get in the way." he thought, as he walked on.
Several minutes later, Jocelyn had made it back to where she was just laying. She was about to lay down once more, when she started to get a tingling sensation all over her body.
"W-What's happening?" she stated, getting worried. She then looked at her surroundings. As she looked around, it seemed to her, as if things were getting a bit taller/bigger. "Wha-?! I'm shrinking?!" she exclaimed. However, as she said this, her voice seemed to become more like the yelp or yip of a puppy. Also, she wasn't shrinking that fast or distinctively.
"I'm not shrinking," Jocelyn thought, seeing as how she couldn't really talk effectively anymore. "I'm somehow, becoming younger, and turning into a puppy."
After a few minutes, the de-aging process was complete, and Jocelyn was now a small, Young, female wolf puppy.
"But, how could this have happened?" young Jocelyn wondered. She sat there, on her rear, in the field, beginning to think as to how she could've been turned into a puppy.
Unfortunately, for her, Shaw had just about made it to Dearly Farm, about a minute after she was completely turned into a puppy. "Okay, so where is my prey now?" Shaw thought, with a sly grin on his face. He tilted his head back a bit, and smelled the air. Among the many scents around him, Shaw was able to distinguish Jocelyn's scent from the others. "Ah, there you are, my dear. Hehheh" he chuckled to himself, as he followed the scent.
Shaw followed the trail of Jocelyn's scent for a couple of minutes, until he came within a couple of yards of a young, female Wolf puppy, sitting in the field, in bright daylight.
"That's odd. Jocelyn's scent leads right to this puppy, and no where else." Shaw thought, a bit confused about this. "Perhaps I grew a bit more than I thought since last time. So, this has to be her." Shaw then began walking up to the young puppy, who was Jocelyn.
As Shaw got within a foot of young Jocelyn, she could practically sense that someone was near her. She turned around, and saw Shaw, at his regular size, around 2 1/2 inches taller than her now. Jocelyn recognized Shaw within seconds, and gulped. "I hope he doesn't recognize me." she thought.
However, as Jocelyn turned around, Shaw examined the wolf puppy for a few minutes. He looked at the fur, the size, and the face of this puppy. As he looked at the face of the wolf puppy, he looked into the eyes of the puppy, and sniffed some of the fur from where he was. "This IS Jocelyn! Hehheh" he thought, as a wide, creepy grin appeared on his face. "There's no way she'll escape this time."
Jocelyn noticed the grin and began to whimper, hoping that Shaw wouldn't harm her, in her current, younger state.
"Ah, ah, ah, dear. There's no point in doing that." Shaw told her, looking down upon Jocelyn. "This time, you, and your carcass are coming with me."
Jocelyn then swiftly turned around and began to run away from Shaw.
"Must you be so difficult, dear?Hehheh" Shaw questioned, as he watched young Jocelyn run away. He waited three seconds, and then began to pursue Jocelyn.
"There's no way I'll be able to outrun Shaw in this form." Jocelyn thought, as she ran. "He'll catch me within seconds."
Jocelyn then began to yip and yelp as loud as she could, trying to say, "Help! Lupus! Someone! Anyone, Help!"
A small distance away, in the barn, a young, male German Shepherd, with pine green eyes, was just relaxing, reading "The Island of Dr. Moreau". His name, was Lupus. He then began to hear a yipping, coming from outside of the barn.
"It sounds like a little puppy's in danger." Lupus figured. "Looks like I'll have to stop reading for the moment. A fellow, very young, canine needs help." He then set the book down, in the hay, next to his other books, got up, and began swiftly heading out to where he heard the yips coming from.
However, just a few seconds after Lupus left the barn, Shaw had cornered poor, young Jocelyn against a tree.
"This time, my dear. Heh. There is NO escape. Lupus isn't here to save you." Shaw grinned as he began to slowly walk closer to his prey. "So, now, you shall die."
Cornered against the tree, young Jocelyn was shaking with fear. "H-HELP! " she yipped out loud one last time.
Hearing that last, loud yip, Lupus sprinted towards where the sound was coming from. Within a few seconds, Lupus came within a yard of the source, and found Shaw, walking closer to a young female, Wolf puppy, that Shaw cornered.
"Shaw!" Lupus exclaimed in anger. "What are you doing back here, and what are you doing to this poor, young wolf?! "
Shaw heard him, turned around, and saw Lupus, the German Shepherd that prevented him from killing Jocelyn the 1st time. "You seriously don't recognize her?!" Shaw asked Lupus. "How pathetic of you, Lupus. Stay out of my way, if you wish to live."
"Recognize? Recognize who?" Lupus questioned, not sure about what Shaw meant. Lupus then examined the wolf puppy. He looked straight into the eyes of this young female puppy, and quickly recognized it as Jocelyn, somehow transformed into a puppy. "Jocelyn!" he exclaimed.
"Yeah, now you recognize her. But, apparently, a minute too late. Heh" Shaw chuckled. "And now, you shall watch, as I kill your beloved friend." Shaw was now within reach of young Jocelyn, and was about to swing his fore left paw, claws extended, towards young Jocelyn's head and neck, which would cause her to bleed severely, when Lupus suddenly pounced upon Shaw, pushing and knocking the Irish Wolfhound about a yard back.
"I don't know how Jocelyn became this young. But Shaw, I am NEVER gonna let you kill her. Let alone, harm her!! " Lupus exclaimed, as he was now standing between young Jocelyn, and Shaw.
Shaw then got up back on all fours, glared at Lupus, and stated, "Lousy, meddling German Shepherd!" Shaw yelled, filled with rage towards Lupus for getting in the way. "This is the last time you will interfere with my plan, Lupus!"
Lupus then turned his head to Jocelyn a bit, and back to Shaw, and suggested, "But we probably shouldn't fight in front of Jocelyn, when she's at such a young age."
Shaw looked at Jocelyn, then back at Lupus, smiled and said, "Oh no. Let her watch. I think she'll rather enjoy watching her very protector die by my fangs and claws."
"We'll see about that." Lupus replied. He then turned towards Jocelyn, and told her, "Don't look, Jocelyn. This might get too fierce for your young self to handle." Young Jocelyn nodded in response, understanding what Lupus had said, and covered her eyes with her fore paws.
"So, shall we get this started? hehheh">" Shaw chuckled as he suddenly pounced towards Lupus, who was an inch smaller than him.
Lupus sensed that Shaw pounced towards him, and swung his fore, left paw at Shaw, which pushed him to the right a bit. As he swung at Shaw, one of Lupus's claws made contact with Shaw, and made a scar across his right cheek.
Despite this scar, and being pushed over, Shaw got up quickly and noticed that he could now attack Jocelyn. "Swift death for her. Hehheh" he thought. He then pounced towards young Jocelyn, who still had her eyes covered.
Lupus saw Shaw pounce towards Jocelyn, his claws extended. "NO!" he yelled, as he quickly turned, and pounced towards Shaw, just as one of his claws had practically made contact with young Jocelyn's head. The pounce forced Shaw back, and Lupus now had him pinned to the ground, like last time. "I will NEVER let you harm Jocelyn, no matter how young or old she is, or how big you are! You shall NEVER harm her!" Lupus exclaimed to Shaw, below him.
"Nothing you ever do, will stop me, Lupus." Shaw replied, looking up to him. "I WILL bring her carcass to my master, even if I have to bring your bleeding carcass along!" he stated. With that, Shaw then lunged his head up towards Lupus's neck, and made contact with the fur, and a bit of the skin. The sudden attack caused Lupus to jump and back away from Shaw.
"It seems that you missed your target, Shaw." Lupus assumed.
"Did I?" Shaw responded, grinning a bit, as he got up, and touched his own neck with one of his paws.
Lupus then brought up one of his paws to his neck, and felt a slight cut, just above his jugular. Shaw didn't make contact with the jugular, but he did cause Lupus to bleed a bit.
"If I were you, Lupus, I wouldn't move my head or neck much, unless you'd rather die." Shaw insisted, grinning. "Now if you don't mind, I think I'll capture my prey." He then turned towards young Jocelyn, who was starting to move her eyes a bit, from feeling Shaw's claw on her head.
"NO! I won't let you!" Lupus exclaimed, as he jumped towards Shaw again, pushing him away from young Jocelyn, despite his bleeding neck.
"Oh, you are so daring to put your life in front of others, even when you're bleeding." Shaw said. "No matter, one more scratch mark, and you'll barely be able to stand." He then made a sudden, short jump towards Lupus, and clawed him at Lupus's left shoulder. The scratch went a bit deeper than the neck mark, but it didn't hit the bone, it did hurt a bit more than the neck injury, though.
"Gah! The pain!" Lupus exclaimed, as he bent down a bit, from the wound, due to his now slightly weakened fore, left leg.
"And now, if you don't mind, I shall finish what I came here to do." Shaw then looked up, but didn't see young Jocelyn, at all. "Where did she go?!" He then began to look around. He glared down at Lupus, and ordered, "Where is Jocelyn?! Tell me!"
"I honestly don't know. Heh Perhaps she was able to run away." Lupus replied, smiling a bit at the possibility of it.
Shaw was then filled with anger, and stated, "You let her get away! Once again, you've caused me to fail at getting my prey! So, I shall now take your life." With that, Shaw then began to lower his head, with his jaws open, prepared to bite Lupus in the neck, thereby killing him.
However, just as he was doing this, young Jocelyn appeared out of no where, and pounced upon Shaw, and began to bite him on the right ear, possibly trying to rip it off, but mainly trying to distract him.
"Ow! That hurts!" Shaw exclaimed, in response to young Jocelyn biting his ear, as he raised his head, and began swinging his head back and forth, trying to get her off.
After about 5 swings, young Jocelyn lost her grip, and flew for about a foot or two, and landed in the grass.
Shaw then turned around, looked towards Jocelyn, glared at her, and stated, "Why, you little, pathetic wolf! Now, you shall die!" Shaw then began to walk quickly towards Jocelyn.
Lupus heard what Shaw had said, and began to stand up on all fours. "No!" he stated. Lupus then pounced once more towards Shaw, with all his strength, and was able to pin the Wolfhound again.
"You just never give up, do you? " Shaw questioned Lupus, who now had him pinned again.
This time, Lupus decided to scratch Shaw's side and chest with one of his forepaws, quickly but effectively.
"Gah! When I get up from under here, you're dead, Lupus. " Shaw warned Lupus.
"I don't think so, Shaw. This time, you're gonna die." Lupus then opened his jaws and began lowering his fangs down to Shaw's neck.
However, as he was doing this, young Jocelyn got up, saw what Lupus was about to do, and began to whimper towards Lupus.
Lupus heard Jocelyn start to whimper, so he closed his jaws, and looked towards Jocelyn, who was shaking her head, while whimpering. Lupus understood that it meant, she didn't want Lupus to kill Shaw yet.
Lupus was a bit irritated at this, after what happened. However, he just looked back towards Shaw, slapped him hard on the face with his left paw, made contact with the scar, told him, "Don't you EVER come here AGAIN!", and jumped off of him, and walked back to young Jocelyn.
Once Lupus was off of him, Shaw began to slowly get up from the ground. After about a minute, he was up on all fours. Shaw then licked where the scar was, and told Lupus, while looking at young Jocelyn "I'll always be coming back, until I have brought her carcass to my master."
As he stood up, and said this, Shaw bent down a bit, due to the scratches on his chest and side. "You're far too weak to fight, Shaw." Lupus warned him. "Go back home, now."
Shaw growled at Lupus and young Jocelyn for a while. Then, he stated, "Very well, I'll leave." He then glared at Jocelyn, and added, "But I WILL bring her corpse with me back to my home, someday." He then began walking back to his home, on the outskirts of Gruteley.
About a minute after Shaw was out of sight, Lupus looked down towards young Jocelyn, and stated, "I honestly can't believe you still didn't want him to die, Jocelyn."
Jocelyn then looked back up to Lupus, who was about 1 1/2 inches taller than her, at her current state, and gave him a bit of a sad look.
As she looked up at him, Lupus noticed a small, short, shallow scratch on young Jocelyn's head. "Oh, poor Jocelyn. He did actually claw you." Lupus sadly stated, looking down at young Jocelyn.
Jocelyn nodded a bit, as if she knew that Shaw had clawed her, and whimpered a bit from the pain.
"Here, let me take care of the pain." Lupus calmly stated. He then lowered his head a bit, and began to lick at the wound, which wasn't bleeding, in the same way a mother would lick its wounded pup, to calm down the young one, and possibly ease the pain.
The licking that Lupus was giving her, actually made Jocelyn feel better. It did ease the pain from the scratch, so she began to smile a bit, and wag her tail a little.
After about a minute, Lupus had stopped licking her wound, for he figured that the pain was gone, as he noticed that young was wagging her tail. He then moved his head away from hers. However, when he looked down at her, both of them smiling at one another, Lupus felt a bit of pain in his left shoulder from the scratch that Shaw gave him. He then decided to lay down on his belly, because of the pain.
Young Jocelyn frowned a bit at seeing that Lupus, too, was in a bit of pain. She then walked up to his left shoulder, and began to lick at the injury, hoping that her licking would also help ease some of the pain.
Lupus noticed that Jocelyn began licking his left shoulder wound, and smiled a bit at her, "Heh. Thank you, dear Jocelyn."
After a few minutes, Jocelyn had finished licking the wound, and it was no longer bleeding, and the pain had stopped. She then smiled, and gently nudged herself under Lupus's head as for a bit of comfort. Lupus had to raise his head a bit. However, a few seconds after she was under Lupus's head, she felt a bit of liquid hit her fur. She then turned around, and looked up at Lupus's neck, to see the scratch mark that Shaw had left in his neck, just above the jugular. The wound was bleeding a bit.
Seeing the wound made young Jocelyn frown a bit again. She then lifted her head a bit, up to his neck, and began to lick that wound, hoping to stop the bleeding, and end the pain.
"Heh Clearly, you care for me as much as I do for you, Jocelyn." Lupus smiled, his looking out, so young Jocelyn could lick the wound.
After a couple of minutes, Jocelyn was able to stop the bleeding and ease the pain from the wound on Lupus's neck. She then stepped out from under Lupus, and smiled at him.
"I gotta admit, Jocelyn." Lupus began. "What you did back there to Shaw, was just brave of you. You're just so young at the moment. I actually can't believe you were willing to do that. But I'm glad you did." Lupus then sweetly smiled at young Jocelyn, who smiled back, and nuzzled up against Lupus a bit, as a pup would to its parents. As she did this, Lupus noticed that some of his blood had dropped onto young Jocelyn's fur. "Oh, you got some of my blood on you. Here, let me clean that up." He then began to lick the area of fur where the blood dropped, and cleaned it.
Knowing that her fur was clean, and that Lupus and herself were now safe and rid of any distinct pain, young Jocelyn smiled and began to wag her tail.
Seeing young Jocelyn this happy made Lupus smile back at his young friend.
Just then, young Jocelyn got another tingling sensation. She began to shake a bit, as if she had go.
"What's wrong, Jocelyn?" Lupus asked. "Do you need to go to the bathroom?"
Young Jocelyn shook her head. "Oh, I hope I'm not becoming even younger," she thought.
Young Jocelyn then began looking around, and at herself. As she looked around, things seemed to get a bit shorter than they were seconds ago. Before Lupus's eyes, his young friend started to slightly grow a bit. Jocelyn noticed that her fur was also thickening a bit. She was slowly reverting back to her original age, and she knew it. Happy about reverting back to her original age, Jocelyn began to wag her tail a bit.
After about a minute, standing before Lupus was Jocelyn, no longer a puppy 1 1/2 inch smaller than him, but at the same age as him, 1/4 inch smaller than him, her original size. She was sitting on her rear, looking a bit down to Lupus, who was laying on his belly.
Seeing as how she was back to her original age and size, Jocelyn figured that she could speak again, so she asked, "Are you able to stand up, Lupus?"
Lupus was a bit surprised at Jocelyn's sudden, but gradual transformation back to her original size and age, but he replied, "Yeah, I think so." He then began to slowly get up onto all fours. After a couple of seconds, he was able to stand tall on all fours, without bending down one bit.
Jocelyn then smiled, and said, "Thanks for saving and protecting me when I was younger, Lupus. I actually thought that Shaw would've killed me then and there, when he cornered me."
Lupus then calmly assured her, smiling back, "You know I wouldn't dare let him kill you, let alone harm you."
Jocelyn then asked, "What you said seconds earlier, about me being brave? Were you serious?"
"Of course I was dear." Lupus replied almost instantly. "You were so young when the fight was occurring, I didn't expect you to fight. You pretty much risked your young life to save me. And considering how small and young you were compared to Shaw, that takes courage."
Jocelyn blushed a bit at this compliment, and replied. "Hehe Why, thank you, Lupus."
"Come, dear. Let's head back into the barn." Lupus suggested, as he began to walk towards the barn. Jocelyn nodded in agreement, and followed him.
However, as they walked Jocelyn noticed that Lupus limped a bit with his fore left leg. "Are you okay, Lupus? I mean, you seem to limp with your fore left leg." she noted, a bit worried.
Lupus smiled at her, and just assured her, "Don't worry, dear. You helped ease the pain, and stop the bleeding. It will heal over time. So, let's just go relax in the barn and let our wounds heal."
Jocelyn then sweetly replied, "Okay, Lupus." and the two went into the barn to relax.
Meanwhile, Shaw had made it back home. Thankfully for Shaw, he wasn't as weak as before, but his master still noticed that Shaw was weak, and that he had several scratch marks on his side, chest, and one on his right cheek, and called the vet.
The vet came over within 30 minutes, and treated all of his wounds. The vet told Shaw's master that all of the wounds will heal completely, but the one on his right cheek might stay as a scar for the rest of his life. Shaw's master stated that as long as it heals mostly, he's okay.
Shaw then licked the vet, as a sign of saying, "Thank you", for healing his wounds and injuries. The vet then drove off, back to her workplace. Shaw's master then looked down at Shaw, who was calmly laying on the floor next to his master's chair in the living room, on his belly, and stated, "I wonder where and how you always come back home with such injuries, Shaw."
"If I don't bring Jocelyn's carcass here soon, my master probably won't let me leave the house anymore." Shaw thought. "I have to capture and kill her, AND I WILL. Watch it, Lupus. Someday, I will kill Jocelyn. Mark my words." He then lowered his head to the ground, and began to rest, so his injuries could heal.
