Didn't they technically already buy LucasFilms back in 1987?

Well, Makes sense for Disney to have Lucasfilm now.
At least "Star Tours" has some sort of Disney Link now.
Although, you think it would be a wise idea for Disney to make new Star Wars films? I mean, Return of the Jedi seem to round things up okay, the Sith were defeated and the Jedi rise again, besides how would they continue it? Doubt Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher would be up for it, if they bring those ones back.
I once heard that George wanted to do Episode VII some years back, where Han gets killed and the Falcon destroyed. Big No-No!
Also, does this mean Clone Wars will be airing on Disney XD now?

True about the link Bab..
Honestly, I think it's stupid idea of them to keep making SW films. Cause Episode 3 was supposed to be.. you know.. THE END?! D:

The End...and the Beggining, That's what the Comic Adaptation to Episode III said.
Like said, not a good idea to continue the Star Wars films, for the reason's I've added to my previous post. See them?

Actually Bab Nemo when Star Wars blew away box offices in 1977 Lucas did originally plan 8 more movies; Empire, Jedi, the three prequels and a 7, 8 and 9 as a third triology. When Empire had a troubled development that stressed Lucas' health he decided to cut back, end with Return of the Jedi and do the prequels when technology caught up to his ideas. Empire actually did have some stuff in it that hinted at further adventures (Yoda's 'There is another' line wasn't originally supposed to mean Leia).
A Star Wars 7, 8 and 9 isn't unheard of and it's not just Disney going for a blind money grab on sequels that were never planned for. That said I still don't know if it is a good idea, haven't we said enough in the first six? What's left with Vader dead and the Empire destroyed? The Star Wars books continued the adventure with Luke rebuilding the Jedi, Chewie making a heroic sacrifice and the Republic restored then eventually one of Han and Leia's kids turning to the dark side and bringing back the Empire so everything was ruined.

Han dying and the Falcon being destroyed (likely in the space battle with Lando) were early ideas for Return of the Jedi not a seventh film.

I heard Lucas wanted to try that in Episode VII too.
My Sister just called me up and even she thinks they shouldn't do it.
Like Race said though, Everything was sorted by Episode VI, what's wrong with just sticking to tie-in books and games? At least then, their continuity is ambiguous instead of Official, right?

How about a midquel focusing entirely on the later life of Jar-Jar Binks?

I doubt there will be any more Star Wars films. At least not without George Lucas. I mean, I know he's still alive, but he won't be for too much longer.
Now that we're on the subject, what other companies do you think Disney will buy? I wouldn't mind so much if they bought Hasbro. That way, we might see some MLP attractions in the Disney parks and maybe some retro Disney series' airing on the Hub, but then again, I don't want to see Transformers taking over Disney either.

Disney's not going to buy Hasbro...besides Universal already has the connections on that front (See Transformers: the Ride). The ponies are a fad best left to their own thread.
Wonder what this deal means for our friend with the whip and fedora...

I've actually found out more news on this new trilogy.
Apparently, George Lucas says he won't be directing the new Star Wars Trilogy and there has been alot of debate on who the Director is. Whether Lucas will have a say in the story, is up for debate.
Although, would this mean that Star Wars will be more on the story than the pretty CGI again?
Some rumour says it'll be about Luke Skywalker when he's older, what you Pups think the Plot may be?

I have heard that some guy named Michael Arndt is going to be writing Episode VII. I also heard that Harrison Ford is interested in reprising his role as Han Solo. Sure he is much older now, but this trilogy is supposed to take place years after Return of the Jedi, so it makes sense.

I'm actually interested in seeing where they take the new Star Wars films. It'd be so awesome if the new films focused on Luke re-building the Jedi Order.....who knows, we might even see characters that weren't in the previous films like Kyle Katarn and Mara Jade. If Kyle did appear in the new movies I would hope Jason Court reprises his role for Katarn, that'd be sweet!
