The snack company is closing due to bankrupcty, union wages, and pension costs supposedly. I wasn't too into twinkies, I preferred their Cupcakes, Ho ohs, and doughnuts. So now a snack food many of us grew up with are now going to be gone forever due to money hogs. Hopefully my stores will still have some tomorrow when I attempt to find some, braaaaawgh

Now this has me pissed off! Can you imagine a world without Twinkies, Cupcakes, Ho-Ohs, and Doughnuts? It's going to be scary! D:
I am going to miss them when they're gone! D:

Most of the brands, given their high profiles, will probably survive by being sold off to other companies. The Twinkle and the bigger ones like Ho-ohs are likely to continue on but there could be a break while it occurs and when they return they'll be made by ConAgra, Little Debbie or Kellogg's instead of Hostess.

Well, looks like Tallahassee won't be getting his Twinkies anymore. ("Zombieland" reference. XD).
But, yeah, that is annoying. No more Twinkies or Cupcakes. And they make GOOD doughnuts.

We don't really get Hostess in the UK, unless it's one of those American candy stores. ^^;
I guess the company can't rely on Batman or the Thing to help them from this (They did Comic ads with them as the stars).
I am with Trey on this, considering how big a company it is, I wonder what they will do with all their staff? =S

Oh, no way. I don't like seeing this happen to a good snack company like Hostess.

I blame this healthy living fad =P See what diets have done? Oh wells. I knew this was happening months ago. I am not a fan of snack cakes anyway. I prefer salty and fruity snacks. Racefan is probably right about selling their major products. I too liked some Ho Ho's but I can already get twinkie knock off's made by other companies.

After reading more about it, it was also because due to the strike, where workers wanted a few more dollars on their paychecks -x-'
Today from 9:30am - 11:49am I was on a quest to find Twinkies. I did not succeed, but it was not a total loss. I went to 6 stores in order: Meijer, Target, Aldi's, Walmart, Drugmart, and Rite Aid. Only the first 2 mentioned and Drugmart had anything. At checkout in drugmart the cashier told me a woman earlier in the day had bought $72 worth of twinkies just so she could sell them on ebay.. crazy right?!
Meijer: 2 bags of donettes... and a simba plush. Target: 3 individually wrapped Suzy Q's Aldi's, Walmart, & Rite Aid: Nothing Drugmart: 1 box of cupcakes (last ones in town), chocolate, and vanilla zingers
I'd post a photo I took but.. don't wanna upset anyone ^^u

How Ironic. They go on strike to get more money and as a result ruin the company they work for, hence putting them all out of work! Just like the Miner's Strike in the 80's.
Just shows how bad a strike can be, eh?

It would be sad to see animals go after what they think is a Twinky or Cupcake, bite into it and say, "Hey! Where's the cream filling?"
