A topic about something I'd hope could bring us closer an open up for more dialogue.
What do people like to rp?
Please keep it clean & quirk-free. We all know about those now, anyway, so it's really no point in mentioning it.
What we don't know about each other though, are what themes, plot devices and plot elements we enjoy in common.
In 101d rps following are things I prefer:
Multi-char rps: Rps with more than two characters either with more than two people participating or the people playing several characters. It usually makes an rp more colorful and can usually take it in many directions since there are many reactions to what is happening.
One-on-one: Two characters is preferred as long as the two has established a connection from prior rps so there is a dynamic to work with. This can happen involuntary: Just look at how our different dals have established links and connections to each other throughout the board rps.
2nd Gen: The clean slate. I have no idea why I enjoy this little fan-construction of ours. Maybe I think there are more interesting characters in that roster. It also opens up for exploring what has happened to the older gen and what the younger ones relations to them are.
Anthro rp: Arguably, barely even a part of the 101d universe anymore, but still.. Opens up for reinterpretation and other fun.
Some themes that I like
Drama: Conflict, fights, disagreements. Different characters deal with it differently. Often an important element so things don't grow stale. I kind of dislike rps where everyone just agrees with each other all the time, if you know what I mean.
Romance: Can work to! It sort of offers some of the same tensions one can find in drama, but it usually helps if the characters have an established link.
Exploring: Probably stems from the fact that I like TV-series where travelling is a significant plot device. Here it definitely helps having more than two chars and more than likely a game master ala rpgs to focus the plot and action so everyone doesn't just end up on their own.
