Decided to spread this out a little...
Welcome Home!
Lucky padded around the farm, his head held high. It had been some time since he had rescued the pups from Cruella’s plans. Crashing into the police station was a stroke of genius on his part. Even he could hardly believe he’d thought of it. Everyone else on the farm had been offering him gratitude and warm thoughts, all save Tac’s friends. The small group had always stood by Tac and his efforts to save them, despite Lucky’s constant verbal assaults. Though the true shock was that Tac, was actually spending time around Lucky. Running around as ‘Kisses’ and not knowing who he was, or how he ended up as battered as he was. But two pups knew the truth, knew who was truly the hero of the day.
“He’s so full of himself. Makes me sick to look at him…”
“So don’t look at him… Besides, what’re we gonna do? Most of the farm believes he was the mastermind behind the rescue. We know who did all the hard work.”
“Yeah, and I know who did most of the damage to Tac… My eyes saw it all.”
“Yes I know, I was there at the end. You never were one to follow the orders of others.”
“I listen to you don’t I?”
“Barely…” Lucky passed beneath the tree branch, a smug look slapped on his face. He payed no attention to the two above him. He didn’t understand them at all, and besides they didn’t belong. They were like Tac, outsiders. Outsiders that threatened the safety of his family. Oddy looked down on Lucky as he passed. “Don’t suppose he knows we saw him, you think?”
“He was too preoccupied trying to strangle Tac.” Vincent glared at him also, anger welling up inside him. “He doesn’t understand how it feels, to lose your parent right in front of your eyes. He’s never been torn from his loved ones like that…”
“Or to have one true friend that you know you can always count on.” Oddy looked over at Dipstick, who was sitting beside ‘Kisses’ with a big grin on his muzzle.
“I’ll teach him a lesson…” Off in the distance the bell for dinner rang. “When the rest are asleep…”
“I agree… He deserves to know that physical pain and mental pain are two different things entirely.” So the two planned and waited, waited for the other’s to go into the warm safety of the barn. Tac was once again forced into the tool shed by Aria and some of his other family. Who were trying to get the old Tac back, and do away with the overly friendly, and revolting, ‘Kisses.’ Lucky sat outside the barn looking up at the night sky, Two-Tone had already gone in for the night. Lucky was thinking, thinking about how he had saved them all, and foiled Tac’s plans to kill them.
“Trying to save Dipstick. What a crock… He wanted everyone to burn alive in the mansion. But still, how was it everyone was in the truck when I came to? Tripod must’ve led them there after he realized what Tac was up to… But wait, he was in the truck passed out and bandaged. I bet Tac tried to stop him from getting the others out alive…” Lucky paused, something moved in the night. “Hello?” Lucky stood up, on alert. “That you Scorch?” No reply. “Tac?” Silence. “Okay then… I’m just gonna go back insi-“ Lucky turned and came face to face with Oddy.
“Evening Lucky… Nice night eh?” Oddy beamed at him.
H-hi Oddy… You… startled me…” Lucky panted quietly.
“Sorry. Heard ya out here talking, thought there was someone else out here.”
“No, just…” Lucky reeled backwards, falling onto the ground with a yelp. Vincent now loomed over him, smiling. “Vin-Vincent… w-what… the… h-h-hell? You gotta stop doing that…”
“Stop doing what?” Vincent asked, still smiling.
“You mean, being where you least expect? Seeing, and hearing what no one expects?” Oddy added.
“W-What are you talking about?” Lucky looked from one to the other in confusion. “I don’t understand…”
“How exactly did you come to be unconscious in the first place Lucky?” Oddy asked.
“Cruella’s henchmen, how else?” Lucky answered with a lie.
“Sure it wasn’t a brick to the head?” Vincent grinned. “Cause you see Lucky… I was the one that dragged you out of the house… Out to your precious little Two-Tone. Oddy saved Tripod, who was in fact attacked by one of the Dobermans… Not that you remember much of that. I mean come on, you saved us! You’re the big hero… You crashed us into the Police Station… Tac only came up with the whole plan, while trying not to get killed by Ivy, Cruella, Skinner, AND those low-life henchmen…”
“Easy Vince…” Oddy warned. “Gotta take it slowly…”
“Take what slowly? What’s going on? What’re you doi-“ Lucky started but Vincent grabbed him by the throat, applying just enough strength to silence him.
“Giving you a taste of true pain… The kind that doesn’t leave a mark…” Vincent grinned evilly as he and Oddy took Lucky off into the night.
