All right. This is the first fic I write ever. The following writing is a two parter. The first one serves as an introduction to my character, Kit, and the other is a oneshot on some events that occour shortly thereafter. This is not the story of the Radio. This is the story of Kit and Phillip.
Content: A very reader-friendly story save for a few, brief sentances of foul language, there is nothing mature.

…That was his name. For no reason at all.
The name could refer to a young fox perhaps. Or a drum kit. But that wouldn’t make any sense. And neither did this new pup. It could be seen walking around all day just sniffing or looking at its surroundings as if it was studying them in detail. What really pondered the Nanny’s mind was that she had never heard him bark. She chuckled. At first they had mistaken him for a girl because of his physique. But it didn’t take long before they got to the bottom of that mystery.
All in all, the name wasn’t so bad. Kit was a cute name for a small pup and suited his being. Even though he was a Dalmatian and not a fox.
It had been a month since he got here. Before that Kit had spent a week at a bike shop, and was eventually placed on the farm which was a good place for dalmatians. And before that Kit had belonged to a band of gypsies where he was born the second youngest in his litter. Kit remembered the smells and the sounds among the gypsies. He was happy. After some time he was thrown on a trade with a bike salesman as a bargain. This would be Kit’s first travel. That’s what gypsies did. They travelled around.
And now, Kit had settled on Dearly Farm. And he was happy.
It was a beautiful summer. And the farm was such a beautiful place. With its smells and sounds. Dalmatians running around playing. He would also play with the other puppies on occasions, but never really talk to them except for saying “hi” and such. But for the most of it he liked being on his own.
The farm had other animals to. Kit especially liked three of them. The humans. Especially the male one, Roger. Roger would sometimes sit in the attic playing his instruments and Kit would love it all.
------------------------------------------------------------------
“It stopped! And now there is just some man talking” Kit said sounding disappointed. He frowned, narrowing his eyes, making his eye spot look like an actual bruice.
“Uh, yeah, they don’t broadcast music all day. Maybe on some other channel” a pup said peeking up from the couch. The one called Lucky. “Anyway, do you mind turning of the radio for one sec? Thunderbolt will be on soon”
Kit turned off the Radio.
“Do you want to watch it with us?” another puppy appeared peeking over the top of the couch. One of the females. She was puffier, but still a pretty face. In her ear she had a ring much like the one Kit had gotten in his while he was with the gypsies. Two-Tone was her name.
“It’s in reruns so you may not find it too exiting, but then again you’ve never watched the show so you may like it.” She said in a friendly tone.
“No thanks, I’d rather listen to some more music” the en femme pup replied
“Are you serious?!” Lucky couldn’t believe what he heard. What pup in their right mind wouldn’t want to watch that show? He looked at Kit who was staring blankly back at him. “All right…” Lucky sighed: “But take the radio somewhere else.”
“Aw, come on Lucky, you know he’s going to get in trouble if he takes it” Two-Tone said while leaning on Lucky’s shoulder. “But it makes so much sound, I can't focus on the show!” Lucky protested. “Well, I know some certain pups really like that radio-” “Well they won’t be a problem” Lucky said eagerly interrupting her “Cause Kit will bring the radio back!” He looked over at Kit. “You will bring it back, right?”
“Sure” Kit replied smiling. “All right. See you later, Kit – oh it’s on!” The two pups turned to the TV–screen. Kit carried the radio in his mouth by the handle and walked away.
Safely installed in the attic, he managed to find a channel that sent more music. Music that would fill the tiny attic with melodies and harmonies in a few seconds. He shut his eyes and moved his body to the music. His dance had no pattern or routine, he just moved his body along with the dynamic of the music. Just as he had always done.
"And there will be more of our man Coltrane later, but now there is time fo-"
Kit turned off the radio as the song faded out and was interfered by a male radio host. That was the problem with radio hosts. Always stressing. Too focused on "moving on with the program." How could they play good music and then immediately after it was finished start talking about something completely different?
Again he picked up the radio with his mouth and wandered off down in deep thoughts. That was when he tripped and sent the radio flying down the stairs and smashing into a wall and when the racket was all over, Kit could spot the former radio lying shattered on the floor.
For minutes, Kit just stood there staring. Then he walked down to get a closer look. He knew he was this was wrong. But he had no idea what would happen next. He made a small whimper.
He went outside. It was in the middle of the day. It didn’t take long before he had started to walk off the bad feeling he had from smashing the radio. Maybe it wouldn’t be any trouble at all.
“Well, then who the f**k did?!” loud, angry voices could be heard from inside the house. Kit stood right under an open window and could hear it all. His ears lowered and he clutched to the ground.
“Look, I don’t know. Lucky said something about Kit bringing it with him. You know, Kit the new guy?”
“That li’l fairy?! You’r telling me that spaced out little runt broke the radio?!”
“Calm down, he probably didn’t do it. The boy loves music. He looks more collected when he listens to it. Look, just find him. I’m sure he’ll give an answer if you ask in the right tone.”
“He better do, the little prick!”
Kit hurried to jump into some bushes to stay out if sight. He heard someone walking in an angry manner. When he was sure that it was safe he peeked out. He let out a deep sigh and sunk to the ground. He was scared. So scared he was shaking and a bad feeling started dwelling inside him. He went inside.
It was evening and there would soon be another thunderbolt episode, but none of the puppies had shown up in the TV-room yet. Kit curled up on the couch. “It’s almost 5 pm, I thought there would be more pups around” a voice said. A very calm voice, now sounding a bit confused.
Kit looked over the couch and down on the floor sat Phillip. Kit had never spoken to him. Phillip looked up at him with innocent brown eyes. “are you all right?” He asked
Seeing how Kit looked upset. “I broke the radio” Kit whispered “But I didn’t mean to. It wasn‘t supposed to happen.” “oh, I heard about that. So it was you?” Phillip said. Kit nodded sadly. Phillip lowered his head and thought for a while. Then his face shined up in a smile. “You know” he said “I think it’s going to be okay. Really! Roger probably has a discount in the music store. We’ll have a new radio before you can think of it!” Phillips optimism made Kit relax.
Phillip jumped up on the couch next to Kit. “Thunderbolt will be on soon, will you stay and watch it with me?” An invitation? Kit had never watched that show before. He knew it was the big thing for many of the puppies, but he had never gotten down to watch it himself. Phillip had been so kind to him, the least thing he could do was to watch the show with him. “Sure” Kit grinned sheepishly.
And there they was. The two puppies watching the show about the heroic dog. Phillip with great enthusiasm. It wasn’t a bad show at all. Very amusing. As the credits rolled they jumped of the couch and went out in the evening sun. They both agreed it was a good episode and Phillip mentioned other episodes that Kit apparently just had to see which featured other characters. They parted ways. Kit went for the woods, and Phillip went to the barn.
But didn’t take long before Phillip caught up with Kit again, this time looking frightened. “Run! Into the woods, quick!” and both the puppies ran as fast as they could, through bushes and between trees. They stopped to catch a few breaths. “What’s wrong?” Kit said confused. “some of the puppies.. They where talking about beating you up.” Phillip said in between breathing. “..but I think we have lost them. They are too lazy to come this far after us anyway” he said and smiled at Kit.
Then he started running again and Kit followed up closely. “Why are we running then?” Phillip turned to Kit while running: “because I like running!” he yelled. Kit smiled and laughed and the two puppies ran further into the forest running zig-zag between the trees. They kept running until Phillip pounced Kit so the two fell over on a soft patch of grass. While regaining their breaths the two eventually just lay there viewing the sunset.
“I don’t think I have seen a sunset this beautiful ever” Kit said thinking back.
“but you used to be a traveller. You must have seen quite many in your life?” Phillip asked curiously. “Perhaps. But there is something about this one. And this place. The colours. The smells. The sounds. I like it here” Kit said and relaxed.
“Thanks for saving me back then” Kit said blushing.
“No problem. And I’m sure the others will have forgot about it in the morning” Phillip said smiling in such an innocent and optimistic way Kit only thought Phillip could do.
“I think we are friends” Kit said happily and crept close to Phillips body.
