A lot of people use "Same size...", "Same weight as..." etc. in their profiles, but how tall exactly is Lucky? How much does Rolly weigh? I think if we can work out some figures it'll help with character creation. Bab lists Clayton as 16" and 12kg which I remember is based off someone's case study of their dalmatian's growth (12kgs being about 13 weeks old), but I think he's the only one to give exact figures whereas many others rely on comparisons to other characters. From this website, I feel as if using 11.5 or 13.5 weeks would be a good age. It's a decent size while not being too small (although based on the dals' size in the series it's closer to the 8 weeks image). They don't list complete height && weight parameters until 14 weeks so here is what I propose.
| 8 Weeks Weight
| 8 Weeks Height
| 13 Weeks Weight
| 13 Weeks Height
| Lucky: | 6.5kg | 30cm | 12kg | 43cm | Rolly: | 8kg | 35cm | 15kg | 50cm | Cadpig: | 5kg | 25cm | 8kg | 35cm |
Thoughts?

Yeah, seems like a good idea. I actually always just guessed when I came up with the figures for my characters... which seem to have mysteriously disappeared... why didn't I include them when I re posted my profiles? I dun't know. But I noticed there is an inconsistency somewhere in the pup's height and age in the series. They're all little midget pups when they would have to be really close to a year old in the series considering that it is in the summer and they were born in October of the previous year. I put their age around 8 months and as you can tell by that chart, they would be a great deal bigger in real life.
But uh, yeah. That all seems to be about right judging from their (noticeably varied) size in the series. But you know that Cadpig and Rolly combined make 8 lbs from the series. Anyway, given that bit of information that puts their combined weight at about 3.6 kg, which is much lower than the what you listed.

Honestly, I do agree with setting size/age standards but in case, I'm not that good with proportions, and I'm essentially only good with age measurement if its based on human years.^^;
All I know is, Abby is certainly slightly younger, if not distinctly smaller, than almost every fan character we've made. (She's about Chive's height).

Anyway, given that bit of information that puts their combined weight at about 3.6 kg, which is much lower than the what you listed. With the 8lbs line we could say that Rolly is 5lbs, Cadpig is 3lbs and Lucky could be 4lbs as a median, although I could see Rolly being 5.5 and Cadpig being 2.5. That would put their ages at about 4 weeks maximum so I think maybe we should forget about the age when looking at their size/ weight. I dunno, that just seems too little to me though. Also, with people using "1 inch taller than Lucky" and lines like that, this size makes it seem unlikely. At this size, 1 inch in height difference would be a huge amount.

This is a good idea for discussion. I figured Cadpig & Rolly weighed somewhere to 8lb, although I think Bishop has the closest estimate there.
At first, I did put my Dals at "Inch smaller than Lucky", but then I checked with a ruler to see how big that was; using a Lucky plush as reference.
Although, the chart that Bishop presents above is a best bet for accuracy. Although, I feel Rolly is a little too tall there. Duke perhaps, but a little smaller for Rolly.
Yeah, I know what you mean with "Small for their age", as "101 Dalmatians The Series" stretches across an entire year. From before April (based on "You Say It's Your Birthday") to the following Easter. I guess we need to follow the "Animated Characters don't actually age" rule.
With the age factor, I do wonder how old they be in Pup Years. Some set that towards Tenish, others teenagers, others Late Teens (I think I once set Clayton as Sixteen in Dog Years), but what do you think?

I agree, just forget about their age because they would be nearly full grown for their age. But they were really tiny in the series. Did you see how Roger could hold Lucky in one hand? Or all the times they were barely ankle high to a human? They were about the size of chihuahuas, so the weights described in the series actually fit really well with their sizes. I did always figure that 5.5 and 2.5 for their weights was accurate.

the series wasn't really accurate on the pups' sizes, Cadpig looked big when Anita hugged her in Dalmatian Vacation part 3 when they were out in the desert at a campsite before they met the Shaggy Green Messanger Cult

I know what you mean. In some shots, Lucky is barely bigger than Roger's foot, whilst production notes that I found say he is taller than that.
Seen those?

All of the rps here take place after the series though, don't they? So it would be fine for them to be a little bigger. Remember that height is the distance to the top of the shoulders so if you include the head it would be bigger. Maybe if we use the 8 weeks figures and tweak them a bit?

Most of our RP's are set after 'Dalmatian Vacation', correct. Tis is what I found when it comes to size comparison. Yeah, I think One Foot is average size, would you say?

I wonder where Bishop got those stats from.
Also, I don't plan to make any more characters in the near future since I have more than enough right now.

In Bishop's first post, there is a link in the words; "Case Study". Try clicking that?
