While it is possible this Film may be delayed, cause of all that has been happening, I think most of the Filming has been recorded. The film may be completed, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll be released when they say it will be. There need to be movie theaters open to play the movie in, which we currently don’t have at the moment. That’s why I think it might end up going straight to Disney+ like what Disney has been doing with a lot of their recent films lately due to the pandemic. Maybe, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

We officially have the Trailer for “Cruella”, Pups! You can definitely see the Seventies Tone of the Film, while also seeing how it may be a Prequel to the “Live Action” “101 Dalmatians”, namely when Cruella burns her dress, the one underneath it is very reminiscent of what she wears in “102 Dalmatians”. The design of the car is also the one from the “Live Action” Films, too, but it implies Cruella Hot Wires it! You can see the Trailer, here! www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmRKv7n2If8What you think of the Trailer, Pups!?

I did hear that Glenn Close had some say in the direction of the film.
I'm interested.

From what I hear, Glenn Close is indeed working on the Film, as the Executive Producer!
I also hear word that she may even make a cameo as the Future Cruella too, but do not quote me on that.
We even have the blurb for the Film, too!
"Cruella", which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman (Emma Thompson), a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.

Wait...this movie takes place in the 70’s? This completely screws up the timeline! All other incarnations of 101D are set in the current date based on their respective release dates! Now this makes no sense whatsoever!

From what I hear, this is suppose to be a Prequel to the "Live Action" Film, a film which is set in the Nineties, Belchic! If we are basing it off Glenn Close's own age, the Cruella in this Film would be about the same age range as Glenn Close was at the time.
Cruella also does mention already being in Fashion during the Eighties, in the "Live Action" Film ("I did leopard spots in the eighties").
Or, it may very well be a case of a different continuity, it's not as though "101 Dalmatians" has not had different tellings be set in different time periods.
Like I post, this is suppose to be a Prequel Film about Cruella's origins.
Does that explain your question, Belchic?

True, but the original story has three different versions that have completely different plotlines. The book is set in the 50’s, the animated film is set in the 60’s, and the live action film is set in the 90’s. So which one is officially canon? We also gotta take into consideration The Starlight Barking, the animated series, 102 Dalmatians and 101 Dalmatian Street, which are all set in the 60’s, 90’s, 2000’s and 2010’s respectively. Patch’s London Adventure seems to be set in the 60’s, which makes it consistent with the animated movie. Why must this be so messed up?

Obviously time just continues to advance so things just keep changing.
It's like what that article on TV Tropes says about how as time passes various things on The Simpsons stay the same even though they don't make sense anymore because it's animated and goes with comic book time. Or how on X-Men a necessary part of Magneto's character is that he needs to be a survivor of a WW2 concentration camp even though that would mean as time passes he'd have to be impossibly old.
I say just try to ignore the small details.

You refering to the Sliding Timescale, Trey? Some thing like that happened with Spider-Man, where there was Twenty Years between two stories, but In-Universe, it had only been Five Years.
Though, Like I post; In the case of "Cruella", this is supposedly set in the same Continuity of the "Live Action" Films, which are set in 1996 & 2000 respectively, so this "Cruella" would take place twenty years before the events of "101 Dalmatians". Some thing tells me, based on the trailer, by the climax of the Film, Cruella will have opened "The House Of Devil".
So, Timeline wise it be; "Cruella", then the "Live Action" "101 Dalmatians", and then "102 Dalmatians".
I really should make a Timeline Chart for "101 Dalmatians". You think I should make one?

I have been able to put one together. This is what I have. In the case of the "Animated" Continuity, from what I gather "Patch's London Adventure" is not Canon in "101 Dalmatian Street", and "102 Dalmatians: Puppies To The Rescue" seems to be in the "Animated" Universe, but pre-dated "Patch's London Adventure"...Though, granted, it could also be in an Amalgamated Universe, too. If you look at the colour keys there, you shall see the "Live Action" "101 Dalmatians" & "Escape From Devil Manor" have "Connected In-Universe". This is cause that "Escape From Devil Manor" is suppose to be the Game which Roger makes in the Film, as evident with the Mine Cart. Amalgamated Universe is when they're Stand-Alone, but made up of elements from Multiple Continuities. Case in point; "101 Dalmatians The Series" is a mixture of the "Animated" Films, "Live Action" Films, and the "Novels", while at the same time being in a different continuity, since it's set in the U S. While the "Animated Storybook" is mostly the "Live Action" Story, but has the talking animal element and climax of the "Animated" Film. Stand-Alone is basically, they seem to exist within their own Continuity. I have made two charts, depending on how you look at "102 Dalmatians: Puppies To The Rescue". How you think this looks?
