For those who don't know, America Sings was a popular, fan-favorite attraction at Disneyland that existed from 1974 to 1988. I did get a chance to see it a couple times when I was really little, and it was an awesome show!
This guy is attempting to make the extinct attraction into an animated short! The link above shows what he has done so far. I don't know about you guys, but I can't wait to see the finished project (even though it probably won't be finished for several years)!

This animator definitely has the Disney style down pat. That looks like something out of Robin Hood.

I will claim that Race is correct with his idea, the one who is working on this really is able to get the Seventies Disney style, the Robin Hood comparison is actually pretty spot there!
And this is what someone is doing in their time? That is really good, considering how many cels, there may be, Eh?
Wonder if they'll try to show this to Disney? Marc Davis, you claim, Belchic? We able to see these Concept Images, Belchic? ;3

I agree with you, bab. Those Disney movies were made by several animators, so this could take an eternity to complete, even though America Sings was only a 20-minute show.
If you want to see any of Marc's concept art, Google it! I'm sure you'll find it there.
To anyone who wants to see the original attraction, you can find videos of it on YouTube. When you watch it, those of you who are youngsters and have ridden Splash Mountain at Disneyland, prepare yourselves for a surprise, because a lot of the characters in this show will look very familiar!

Man, this'd be rather fun to see as an attraction in general, (granted I don't recognize many songs I'd currently enjoy at lot given the info on Wikipedia aside from, the ones I recall when I checked, "Hound Dog", "Yankee Doodle", and "Home on the Range", {NOT the Disney film}.)

If you want to see the original attraction, here's a recorded video of it from I think 1986:
This is probably the closest you'll get to enjoying the show since it no longer exists.

What did they replace America Sings with?
I see reason behind removing the Alien Extra Terrestrial Encounter attraction in WDW but what's the reason for removing this?

America Sings was replaced with Innoventions (which is closing in 2 weeks), but 10 years after it closed!
There are numerous reasons why it closed, but it was mainly due to budgeting trouble and the fact that the attraction was very light-attended at the time.

I suppose a reason it was lightly-attended is because of that one accident.

That's not the reason it closed though. The incident occurred shortly after its opening day. Even after that, it still ran for 14 years and remained a popular attraction.

Well, I wouldn't mind seeing such an attraction in Hollywood Studios of Disney World. If I'm correct, a few years ago they removed a poorly-attended attraction that starred Drew Carey, (not live like Whose Line but sort of pre-recorded). I think the name of the attraction was "Sounds Dangerous". But anyway, it's near the American Idol attraction and, while it probably isn't big enough to house America Sings in its original glory, it might be big enough to house the attraction to an extent, just a different design or layout. (Imo, it's not like they'll replace the Country Bears Jamboree in Magic Kingdom with something else anyway. {I haven't seen the film, and didn't go on the attraction due to lack of interest but it feels like it has a lot of fans}).

There's a chance they might bring this show back to Disneyland if there's a high enough demand for it.
Though it's funny you mentioned the Country Bear Jamboree. Over at Disneyland, that show closed in 2001 and was replaced with a Winnie the Pooh ride.

The Country Bear thing, last I checked, (as in far as I'm concerned, {which was back in 2012 end of February since I saw the building there I think}), is still present BUT I would love to see this thing, (America Sings), in the location that was originally "Sounds Dangerous". Seriously, this could help someone get some inspiration on a song to sing for their audition at the "American Idol Experience" and the positioning makes sense. Practically adjacent to the AIE attraction.
Also, that video explains the two vultures in the Splash Mountain ride. (seriously, they weren't at ALL in the film but they're at the end, just as you make your way up to the hill where you dive right into the briar patch, and they talk in that dreary tone about how Brer Rabbit's gonna die.)
