This was an RP idea, but to heck with it, I'm writing a fanfic based on it. XD I mostly write in First Person POV, so that's how this is going to go. Everyone's anthro here, BTW. Here's everyone's classes so far:
Lucky as a Dual Class: Rune-Warden
Tripod as a Dual Class: Guard-Captain
Cadpig as an Ultimate Class: Lore-Centurion
Rolly as an Ultimate Class: High-Defender
Jewel as a Dual Class: Rune-Warden
Fidget as an Ultimate Class: High-Marauder
Atlas as an Ultimate Dual Class: Time-Archangel
Querida as a Dual Class: Lore-Captain
Shadowface as an Ultimate Class: Assassin
Mooch as a Dual Class: Champion-Hunter
Dipstick as a Dual Class: Noble-Minstrel
Wizzer as an Ultimate Class: High-Marauder
Chapter 1: Spark of Conflict
*POV of Lucky*
Well... Mooch has done it again... That's the fourth bunch of our belongings this week! Some of us have had enough of it... For once, Lt. Pug's training comes in handy. We stood up to Mooch in the barn, with Dipstick and Wizzer at his sides.
"Back off, Luckless!" Mooch growled in an attempt to intimidate me, gripping his sword and battleaxe tightly in his hands. He knows as well as the rest of us that we can't mortally wound or kill each other with these weapons. That's one thing Rebecca brought with her from four centuries ago.
"I'm sick and tired of you stealing things from us. What did we ever do to you?" I snapped back. My ice-shield, spear and icicle javelins were my choice of defense. "And Dipstick, Wizzer... Do you know how much it pains Querida to see you guys with him?!" I gestured to my step-sister with flower-shaped spots over her eye. Querida is a sweetheart, and it pains her to see us quarreling all the time like this.
Mooch snapped his fingers and pointed his sword at me.
"Get 'im boys!" Dipstick and Wizzer drew their tools, and charged forward towards me. Dipstick wields a curved shortsword and a round shield like I do. Even though my shield is horseshoe-shaped, it's still stronger than the ellipse-like hunk of steel Dipstick wields. Wizzer is unpredictable, always on the move... Mostly because he has to use the bathroom half the time, and it just became a habit of his.
I stood there motionless, more so than the most durable of statues, prepared to withstand whatever sort of attacks my brothers would inflict upon me. Before Dipstick could thrust his sword at me, a shining, metallic blur flew past my face and took a hold of the weapon. This was Tripod, now with a detachable Nickel-Silver alloy arm that sported a beautiful white color, reinforced with inner layers of titanium plates, infused with veins of black platinum on the outside for a decorative effect. He creates such a presence in the Bark Brigade.
"Didn't Mother ever tell you it's rude to attack someone? Especially if it's not a sparring match!" Tripod grinned. "I got you, Lucky."
"Thank you, Tripod." I replied. Before I knew it, Rolly, Cadpig, Atlas, Jewel, and Fidget were at my side.
Rolly stepped out in front, taunting Mooch with the enormous, intricately-designed shield that he wields. "You want any of them, you go through me!" he promised with a mouth full of the Italian sub he was eating prior to this. The by-standing pups around us were no help, they just started chanting.
"Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!"
I glared at my siblings. "You guys aren't helping!"
"Well if it's a fight you want, it's a fight you're gonna lose!" Mooch yelled as he ran at me head-on. Behind my shield, I still felt a sting as Mooch hammered his battleaxe upon it. It all just went downhill from there... I don't even remember what happened. I saw Atlas, Jewel, and Rolly go down as I blacked out. I woke up a few minutes later.
"Lucky!" I heard the voice echoing. "Lucky!" Each time I heard my name, the voice became clearer. "Lucky! Wake up, ya sack o' potatoes!"
With half-open eyes, I looked at the pup in front of me. Rebecca!
"Ugh... What happened?" I groaned. My head feels like I stupidly headbutt Rolly's shield.
"Ya headbutted Rolly's shield like some mad-dog." She replied. Guess I spoke too soon... "It wasn' yer fault, laddie... Mooch technically stole it as ya charged at 'im. My eyes practically shot out of my skull as I leaned up, halting right in front of my girlfriend's face. I wondered, Did Rolly go down? What did Mooch do to him?!
"Did you guys get Mooch?!" I asked, gripping Rebecca's shoulders. "Did you teach him a lesson?!"
Rebecca looked down for a moment, then stared back at me with remorse in her eyes. "Mooch an' 'is gang got away with more of our baked goods an' a few more of our belongings... Rolly's shield, Jewel's rune-stone, Atlas' compass, a few of Cadpig's books... They don' even use them! They jus' took 'em for the fun of it!" As Rebecca explained how Rolly, Jewel, and Atlas are injured and are resting, I saw rage building up in Querida... Not literally, but it was her facial expression, her body language, even just the way she stood! She was emitting sorrow and rage like none other.
Later that night at dinner, there was naught but silence. It was so quiet, that one would assume that if a pin were to drop, it would be audible from here to London... Querida broke that silence, slamming her fist on the table.
"That's it!" She screamed, tears flowing down her face. "I've had enough of this! We've done nothing but let them have what they want! Dipstick and Wizzer were once really close with us... What happened?!" My step-sister's voice began to break. "Dipstick, Fidget and Jewel were inseparable! Wizzer was once the only one who could even talk to Two-Tone! Now look at us... We're divided! I'm not going to let Mooch just have all of our stuff! Our food, our prized possesions, what else? Now Atlas, Jewel, and Rolly are hurt! I'm tired of sitting around, it's time we put Mooch in his place! Who's with me?"
At first, we just stared towards the ground, certain that if we stood up to Mooch and his gang again, he'd hurt the rest of us. It was true, though. He may not be an Ultimate Class yet, but Mooch is strong! He's decent with a bow, but it's his axe you need to be worried about. Dipstick keeps the gang healed... He's good at what he does. Wizzer is unpredictable... Only Fidget would stand a chance. When all our hopes were at their lowest, Fidget stood up.
"I'll join you." His voice resonated proudly throughout the room. Tripod and Cadpig stood up as well.
"Then it's settled..." Querida confirmed. Her patience had run out. "We'll do what the rest of you are too afraid to do again..."
*POV of Shadowface*
I was sitting on the roof of the barn, bathing in the brilliant light of the full moon. I had eaten my dinner with Atlas, Jewel, and Rolly. Atlas is one of my best friends... Jewel is a sweetheart, just like Querida... Jewel is also very girly a lot of the time. Rolly just wants to feel loved... I talked with him after Atlas and Jewel drifted into a deep sleep due to exhaustion. Rolly doesn't feel loved because he thinks he weighs too much. That's not true... I've seen him slim down. He's not as slender as Patch or Atlas, but he's in the middle somewhere. Well, he's still wide, but not fat. Most of his weight is muscle now! Must be that High-Defender training... He's still the Mr. Roly-Poly we all know. He loves us very much, and we love him. Apparently, we don't show it well if he feels this way. I fear that what happened here today will tear us apart and spark conflict on this farm that will leave wounds so deep they cannot be mended. While lost in my thoughts, out of the corner of my eye I see a figure sprinting away from the barn... Covered by the night, I followed. The figure was Dipstick.
"That's right..." He panted. "Querida formed a... team to... defeat us! Fidget... Tripod and Cadpig... joined her..."
"Ha!" Mooch laughed. "They think they can beat us? They must be joking!" Mooch, Wizzer, and Dipstick turned around and headed back to their little hideout, wherever it is... Mooch stopped to look back.
"I know you're there, Shadowface..." He said with a serious tone in his voice.
"I know when I'm caught..." I said, revealing myself from my stealth. "What will you do to me?"
"Oh, nothing... Just telling you that people will get hurt... I don't care who..." Mooch smirked at me.
"You underestimate them... They were holding back this morning."
"And where were you this morning, hmm?" Mooch turned to face me and raised an eyebrow. "With a certain pup..."
Nicoletta... I thought. "How did you..." I began to say before being interrupted.
"You weren't exactly hiding... Heheh." Wizzer chuckled. "It's okay, you two were only sitting by the lake talking about your feelings or whatever."
"Yeah." Mooch agreed. "Like I said, I don't care who gets hurt. Just saying. Maybe one less pup will get caught in the crossfire of my crossbow if you... let's say... join my gang?"
My eyes widened as I unsheathed my knives and rushed towards Mooch. With one dagger pressed against his chest and one at his throat I growled. "You cunning little mutt! How dare you harm Nicoletta?!"
"I didn't harm her... Yet... You join my gang, and she remains untouched. Do we have an accord?" Mooch stuck his hand out. I sheathed my daggers again and stood still, staring at this sheepdog.
I'm doing this for you, Nicoletta... Remorse and regret filled my mind at this moment. I don't expect you to forgive me... With this thought, I took a hold of Mooch's hand. We shook, and so did the very foundations of this family.
