Hello everyone, Since Bab is on vacation, he asked me to post his secret Santa today to be on time ! Here ya go : Here we have my Secret Santa, where I am the Secret Santa for…PAWS!
One of the things, which she ask for, was some thing from her Magical Rebecca Contininuity! What I can learn, about it, is that while Rebecca does have Magic Powers, she has some issues trying to contrl them, and would need to really concentrte to use them. This does mean that there are times, where her Powers may have a sudden brst. There is also; Vendella; however, she has a more refned control of her Powers, than Rebecca does. So, here we have Rebecca & Vendella trying to use some Ice and Snow Magic, for the Holiday Season! While Vendella seems to be able to work her Magic well, Rebecca is having some issues trying to make so much as a Snow Ball, and it’s causing some of the Decorations or Presnts to strt flying about her! You can also see, Rebecca’s Witch’s Hat has a type of Santa look to it, while Vendella’s robe is base on what Queen Elsa wears in; Olaf’s Frozen Adventure! I do wonder, if Rebecca shall be able to get some control of her powers, this Season, Eh?
MERRY CHRISTMAS, PUPS! I hope Olwe likes the Image, and I hope you do too!
Enjoy ;DWhat you think, of the Image, Paws!? Merry Christmas everyone from France

Okie, it's the 25th of December, so I can now post my Secret Santa.
I am the Secret Santa to Lucky or Shawn, and he wanted me to write a review for his Life on the Farm trilogy. Now disclaimer. I'm still a newbie reviewer. I'm more of a "reviewee" than a reviewer.
Life on the Farm A Review by Shadow Dearly
DISCLAIMER: I am not a professional reviewer, so don’t think of me as Ebert or someone.
I’ve read all three parts of “The Life on the Farm” by Shawn, or Lucky, on Sparky’s. It was an interesting read, it kept me on the edge of my seat, and don’t get me started with the drama. The story starts where four Dalmatian pups, Shawn, Shane, Balance, and Blake were in the barn training with their sensei TJ, a Doberman. TJ was teaching them to recognize the scents of the Dearly humans, Roger, Anita, and Nanny, so they could help them in the event of a dangerous situation. I know that it’s possible they can do that, but keep in mind that Shawn and his siblings are puppies, so case in point Pongo and Perdita probably won’t permit them to intervene. However, how else are puppies going to learn to fight for others if they are always pulled back to safety? Okay, I’m getting off topic here. The character of TJ knows what he’s doing, he’s not a one-time character, and I enjoy reading his part of the story. He does well for Shawn and his siblings. He is very wise I must say.
So after training, the pups are let go to have fun and be pups. Balance soon remembered that she needed to meet up with the flea-infested pup Dipstick. And so she goes. Dipstick introduces Balance to a wolf by the name of Zess. Not Ness, from the Earthbound games, Zess… with a Z. Long story short, Zess and Balance become boyfriend and girlfriend, against Shawn’s wishes, and they raise Wolfmatians of their own. Nope. Shawn would claw that fantasy into obliteration. Yes. Shawn doesn’t like it when Balance dates. Sad, but it’s his sister’s life.
Lt. Pug in the story was a tyrant, then again when is he not? He actually made Shawn and Blake fight, with Pug using Shawn’s rage to his advantage, and if it wasn’t for Balance to intrude, Blake would’ve been dead. And then, Shawn would forever deal with the intrusive thought of murdering his brother and Blake’s spirit would roam around the farm. ((Actually, that doesn’t seem like a bad fic idea.))
So Shawn talks to Two-Tone. Word went around about what happened at Bark Brigade. However, Shawn won’t be kicked out, but he will be punished by Pongo and Perdita for almost killing Blake. I thought it was a cute scene between the two Dalmatians.
Lt. Pug wanting Shawn to kill Blake? Do my ears deceive me? If Pug wanted Shawn to use his rage to his full extent, then that changes everything, and Lt. Pug would be the one kicked out. But then again when is Pug not a tyrant?
Another scene I liked is Shawn’s flashbacks, especially with his mother, Jenna. No, Shawn’s father is NOT Balto. I laughed, a good laugh, at the scene in which young Shawn thought that he lost his tail.
The next morning, Shawn was met with the barn’s floorboard. He slept talk and Blake didn’t want to miss an opportunity to mess with his brother. Turns out a couple of foxes infiltrated the chicken coop and tried to steal some eggs. Luckily, they were stopped.
The scene with Pongo and Balance at the pond. I loved the Lion King homage. “She lives in you” It was talking about Balance’s mother, Jenna. But something tells me something bad happened.
Chapter Two ends with Ace, one of the foxes meeting with a shadowed figure in the woods. It was it, a coyote by the name of Rhonda and him. Long story short, Balance, Blake, Shawn, and Shane defeated him, and Ace was punished by termination. That in a long run shows no mercy from the shadowed figure. Chapter Three begins with Shawn meeting and soon fighting with Mooch. Having enough of taunts from the sheepdog, Shawn decided that he wasn’t going to play around anymore. Blows later, Shawn ended up on the ground bleeding. Even though he was weak, Shawn persisted to continue the fight, even though Mooch declined. Shawn swore. Another flashback. This time the aftermath from a fight Shawn was in. In it, Jenna was licking off the blood from her son, cleaning his wounds. It’s understandable in a mother’s eyes that Jenna wanted Shawn to be safe. I love how Shawn is portrayed in this fic, with him not adjusting quickly to his new life on the Dearly Farm. He is determined to find his mother, not father for obvious reasons, and leave the farm for good.
Two-Tone’s attempt to talk to Shawn went well, even though Two-Tone flubbed her words by saying that everyone’s different. We also learn that Shawn doesn’t like the idea of his sister, Balance, dating. But what Shawn needs to know is that Balance has her own life to live, and that he’ll not always be around to say no.
Meanwhile, in the chicken coop, Blake, Shane, and Spot were hard at work returning all the eggs the dastardly foxes stole. Blake left to the woods, and Spot asked Shane a question regarding his bandanna. It turns out that it was a gift to him by Jenna, before the inevitable separation. It must be his most cherished possession, just like how the cape is Shadow’s prized, cherished possession. I loved reading the part, and I feel bad for the ones who’ll mistake Shane’s bandanna for a napkin, or a handkerchief. No problems with that scene. I don’t care what anyone says. The “I got this from my parents before they separated or died” cliché is never-ending in my opinion. Though many could disagree as that trope was used dozens of times. Or something similar.
Blake, reaching the forest comes across a vixen by the name of Michelle. Oh? A fox? Would she be accused of stealing some eggs? Foxes should be given a chance. Not all foxes are thieves. Look at Roxy. Blake saw that Michelle was talking with a Dalmatian with two black ears, spots that resemble pyramid triangles, and having scars between his eyes, August. August was persuading Michelle to join the little group of his that promises to make the humans regret mistreating her kind. I’ll give you a couple of minutes to figure out which group it is.
Come on, try to guess.
Blake then surprised Michelle by walking out of the bushes. If she had caught him eavesdropping, things would have gotten a lot worse. I loved how Michelle’s appearance didn’t have her join August’s group, the Followers of Anubis, instantly. But she is a villain, but this is before she’s an official member. After Blake assured her that he won’t hurt her, Michelle gives Blake directions to Hiccup Hole after claiming that a date with her was out of the question. Playing hard to get? Still, the writing is exceptionally great.
The third chapter ends with TJ reprimanding Shawn of his actions. Getting Shawn’s temper under control is a daring, daunting task. But it is possible. Then, Shawn does something that actually makes people and pups feel better: crying.
The next day, Balance awoke and sure enough Zess came by and sat next to her. By the looks of her wagging tail, Balance is smitten with Zess. Let’s hope Shawn doesn’t find out about it. Zess asks if Balance decided on his offer to her, to which she agrees. But after training.
So TJ had Shawn walk from one side of a group of ten hay bales to the other, thirty feet in the air, all while wearing a blindfold. If it wasn’t for Lucky, Shawn would’ve made it across. Good going, Lucky. Nevertheless, what TJ doing will come in handy for his pupils. And what Shawn attempted to do was to get him over his fear of heights. Maybe they could try again later. Until then, training is over. TJ then told Lucky and Two-Tone how he became their teacher. If you’re squeamish when it comes to blood, stop reading. A long story short, Jenna left her pups, Balance, Blake, Shawn, and Shane, in TJ’s care. He knew that Damon, their daddy, would be out looking for them, so he, TJ, had a clever way to hid Shawn and his siblings from their father. He hides them with a family that he was staying. However, when he awoke the next morning, TJ found out that his pupils were attacked, and were covered, from their heads to their toes, in blood. So, as a result, TJ started teaching them martial arts. And one day, he made a choice that instantly made him admonish himself. He let Shawn, Shane, Balance, and Blake wander off on their own, and I think you can figure out what happened. They’re Dalmatians, Cruella wanted Dalmatian puppies to make a fur coat out of them, and… yep.
For a while, TJ’s anger, fear, but mostly anger, was impregnable after his pupils never returned. But once he learned that Shawn and his siblings were with Horace and Jasper, he hoped his teachings will be the best of them.
Later, Balance was in the woods and were introduced, by Zess, to Zack and Damian. Like Zess, the two are also wolves. Damian is so delirious as he jumped a-la-Scooby-Doo into Zack’s arms. Hey, Damian. You are a wolf. Act like it. Damian is the type of character that’ll make you say, “Oh boy” or “Not him again.” He shows it by saying that it would’ve been funny if Balance had antlers and long hooves. As you can imagine, Balance failed to see the humor in that, so that means that Damian needs hard work.
The end of the first part ends with Zess showing Balance a beautiful waterfall. The two kiss, and Shawn saw the whole thing. In his, Shawn’s, mind, he might storm to Zess and Balance, grab his sister by her collar, and pull her back to the Dearly Farm against Balance’s will. Hey. That what can happen if one’s siblings, or parents, or both, doesn’t like a SO (Significant other). Nevertheless, Shawn doesn’t say anything as he leaves. Balance kissing Zess. Bring on the Zalance shippers. But we can be assured that Shawn won’t be happy.
The second part begins with Shawn in Gruteley, meeting a singing dog by the name of Jerry. But since Shawn was a puppy, and Jerry is a full grown adult, Jerry comes to the conclusion that he needed to find Shawn’s parents, which in this case are Pongo and Perdita. But he doesn’t want to go back to the farm. He knew that she was in Gruteley. So, Jerry introduces Shawn to two puppies: a Siberian Husky named Bo and a Labrador Retriever named Leo. You can say that Jerry is their guardian. And yes you guessed it. The main reason why Shawn doesn’t want to return to the farm is because of his sister Balance; the way he caught her and Zess kissing.
Meanwhile, we get a glimpse of Damon, the father of Shawn, Shane, Balance, and Blake. Damon tried to enlist the help of a dingo named Moto in finding Shawn. And after a bit of persuasion, Pongo and Perdita allowed Shane, Balance, and Blake to go to bring Shawn back to the farm. Again, nothing wrong with that. It’s all in their instincts. The thought of Shawn being in danger will eat at the other Dalmatians until they find him safe and sound. But one problem. Shawn refuses and once Jerry says that his siblings will take him first thing tomorrow, he leaves, ignoring Jerry’s orders to return.
The next morning, Balance, Shane, and Blake learn from Leo that Shawn left. Balance didn’t take the news well, and that’s understandable. The scene with Blake and Jewel, after Jewel was interrogated with Shawn’s disappearance, was hysterical. Blake knows how to tease his brother. “HELLOOOO muah muah muah muah muah!” Kissy sounds. Of course, Shane refused to put up with it.
Meanwhile, Leo was exploring the city, wondering where Bo was. And once he finds the body of his dearly departed friend… wow. I felt for him. Nobody wants to find anyone the way Leo found Bo. So right now Shawn was determined to find his mother, Jenna. It’s pouring, which adds anguish, sadness, and determination within Shawn. I think Shawn should appreciate with what he has now at the farm. At the farm, Balance was angry at Shawn with what he had done. Two-Tone assures her that Shawn will turn up. It worked, but not completely. Balance couldn’t enjoy her favorite show without wondering if Shawn was okay, so she raced out of the barn and into the city. Siblings. They know what the other one is thinking. It’s not just twins. So Shawn saw that some strays are giving Jewel a hard time. I’ll save you the details. Shawn was able to drive the strays away, but before Jewel could say anything, Shawn walked away, like he was a mercenary pup that received payment.
Then, he realized he made a mistake as he had a dream that taught him that Pongo and Perdita cared for him. Awwwwwwwww… how sweet.
Chapter Four of Part 2 of Life on the Farm begins with Balance chiding Shawn. Balance’s anger was bottled up, and she tried to keep it in check. Balance told Shawn, and reminded him, that their orders were to stay with a family that took them in, which in this case was the Dearlys, not to go look for their biological parents. It’s easier to do that, to stay away from the past. What is Shawn going to pester Shane to invent a device that enables Shawn to go back in time and make it where he and his siblings never set paw on the Dearly Farm? Highly unlikely. Nevertheless, Balance and Shawn quarrel, which ends up with Shawn leaving. Things are heating up here. I can smell the drama.
Leo, saddened about Bo’s untimely death, tried to commit suicide by slitting his throat with a switchblade. Shawn, thankfully, was able to stop Leo from doing the permanent solution to a temporary problem, but he had to do everything he can to keep Leo from offing himself, even if it meant fighting. However, a shadowed figure kicked Leo off the cliff to his death. Who killed Leo? I’m confused as Shawn is. Especially how he was blamed for Leo’s murder. Finally, with Damon getting the info he needed, he sets off to find his pups, specifically Shawn.
The final part has Balance, Shawn, Shane, and Blake learning the truth about Jenna, about how she was killed, a nod to Disney films where the mother of the protagonist dies. It happened on Black Friday, after Jenna left her pups in the care of TJ, the Doberman heard yipping coming from the alleyway. He went to check it out and his heart sunk as he saw Jenna’s lifeless body in front of him. As expected, Shane and Blake had tears running down their muzzles, Shawn punched the dirt in anger, and Balance bottled up her emotions. Dear Balance, it’s not good to bottle up your emotions like that. You’ll end up cold, alone, with no one by your side as your anger will control you.
In a span of three days, Balance changed for the worse. She forced Lucky to change the channel to a show she wanted to watch, teased Rolly of his weight, tripped Spot, and played hooky to Cadpig and TJ. In the end, she decided to leave the farm. It was up to her siblings and TJ to find Balance and bring her back to the farm. So they went to Gruteley, and found Balance with a Dalmatian pup named Luca. Luca decides to play and refers to himself as Balance’s boyfriend. As expected, Shawn went into his stay-away-from-my-sister mode. Shawn and Luca quarrel. Shawn, how many times do I have to tell you? Stay out of Balance’s private life.
Now back to Balance and Luca who stole a row of hot dog links. It appears that Balance loves the city life. Three meals a day, the joy of stealing from others. And that’s exactly why you guessed it, Balance runs off with Luca after quarreling with Shawn again. It’s like… Balance is best left alone in the city, but on the other paw Balance needs to return to the barn. But with Balance running away from her siblings and Pongo, this task is becoming more challenging. The drama between Balance and Shawn, with Balance twisting up Shawn’s words and ending with a “I hate you!”, it was like watching those reality TV shows, but without having the entire thing staged. Reading the part where Balance runs away made me think. What if Balance never returns to the farm? I can’t describe the feeling, but it makes you think. Think. With Balance gone from the farm, everyone who were friends with her only have the memories they shared with her. And just for the heck of it, Shadow would refuse to eat and basically “lock” himself in the barn until Balance returns.
Shane soon returned to Gruteley and was met with three dogs. A black Labrador, a Pomeranian, and a Rottweiler: Sheila, Helen, and Mack. I wonder what those three want to do with Shane. A long story short, they were the ones who killed Jenna. I know. I’m surprised, too.
How long have I been talking for? I better wrap this up. The scene with Jerry and Shawn was sentimental, especially with Shawn accepting the fact that his mother is gone and will never come back. Unless there was a spell to bring the dead back to life, but that will have dire consequences. For example, Jenna would be unconsecrated, a zombie. It’s best to move on and let the dead enjoy the afterlife. Shawn and his siblings will see their mother again one day. But Jenna could always appear in her pups’ dreams. With what Balance is doing, Jenna won’t be proud of her. What would Jenna say if she learned that she ran away from the farm, putting herself in danger, and stealing from an innocent human?
Nevertheless, Damon found Shawn, fought Jerry, make him have contact with a dumpster, picked Shawn up with his maw, and ran off with him. Things are only getting juicier. Though, if someone comes up to you and says he’s your father, you’ll show some reaction. Shawn should’ve asked if Damon was really his father, but Jerry would probably tell him to go back into the box.
The final chapter of the trilogy starts with Luca and Balance having fun, seeing who can go to the nearest alleyway first. Balance pounced Luca, and the two ended up rolling down the hill laughing. When they were about to kiss, Blake did a nod to Robin Williams, or at least I think he did, when he said “GOOD EVENING GRUTELEY!” “GOOD MORNING VIETNAM!” Of course, Balance was annoyed. They learn that Shawn was held at the warehouse by his father, Damon. Luca is a good guy after all. So he told Blake to get everyone and hoped that it wasn’t too late.
In the warehouse, Damon was beating the living crap out of Shawn, which proves that he isn’t a good father at all. Not to mention that he wasn’t a good role model either. So I understand why Jenna hid her pups from him. Nobody wants an abusive parent. So, during the “sparring,” Pongo decided to deal with Damon. And so he went into the warehouse, where he tried to take Shawn without fighting, but that didn’t work, so fight it was. Thankfully, Perdita came and picked up Shawn to safety, but the poor pup was badly injured, bless his heart. Had the fight continued, Shawn would’ve been reunited with Jenna.
But the battle isn’t over yet, as Balance, Blake and Perdita, and soon Pongo and the others were met with the trio of dogs that offed Jenna, Sheila, Mack, and Helen. Shawn, weakened from the fight with Damon, instantly noticed the three before falling unconscious. The three dastardly dogs were there to finish the deed by killing Shawn, Shane, Balance, and Blake. Why did they want to murder innocent puppies? I do love villains, and they were able to kill. Bloodbath? Though it wasn’t easy as they were soon outnumbered. “I got an idea! Let’s run away. That never fails!” Clearly seeing TJ, Jerry (which by the way I think does not have a sibling named Tom), Colonel, and Sgt. Tibbs, Sheila, Mack, and Helen made like a tree and left. No bloodbath. No surprise kick below the belt. Nothing. In the end, when Shawn regained consciousness, he, Shawn, Shane, and Balance officially became Dearly Dalmatians as they were adopted by Pongo and Perdita.
Balance apologized; Shawn forgave her. Such a happy ending. And Jewel kissed Shawn, thanking him for saving her before leaving, leaving Shawn confused over what happened. So all in all, it was an interesting read. The first part was of course dark, and the other two were okay. I didn’t hate the story, I clearly enjoyed it. It was well-written with unforgettable cast of characters. I’d give this fic an A.

Thanks for the review, Shadow, I actually did work hard on the story, to get that A tbh. I really enjoyed the Review, Shadow, Thank you. Okay, my Secret Santa was Belchic, so I looked up the info I needed to get this story done, and here it is: If Writing: A story that has a bit where pups do my quirk. (Same rules as above: Male on top, female underneath, and preferably not my characters.) Also, I’d like to have an instance where a female character gets hungry, and her stomach growls. Now, when he said preferably not my characters, I didn't know if I was allowed to use his characters in this story, so I just had them as a cameo, but they are in the story, though. Hope he likes it, as we dive right into the story that's about to unfold. It was a nice day at the farm, as Balance and her siblings finished watching the last Kaiju Movie that was on TV, it was a Marathon that lasted three days straight, but ended during the day. Balance and her siblings skipped Breakfast in order to watch the final film that they were hoping to catch, since the power cut out on them right at the climax of the movie, where the humans are in the woods looking for the giant Kaiju Creatures. After the film, Balance stretched out her body from sitting on her rear for so long, Shawn, Blake and Shane did the same. "What do you dudes, want to do now?" Blake asked. Balance was going to say something, but before she did, she along with her siblings heard her stomach growl, they could tell that she was getting hungry, they were getting hungry too. "Do you think that Belchic, Tippy or Joey said anything?" Shane asked, remembering them talking to Balance about a place that they were going. Balance thought for a moment. "I've heard that there was a new sub restaurant in town, from them." She replied. "Great!" Shawn spoke, but then had a thought. "Any idea if they left yet?" Blake walked toward the barn door, examining the area, from left to right, there was no sign of the Dearly bus anywhere, but Roger's car was in sight, he then walked back to his siblings. "Do you see the bus?" Shane asked. Blake shook his head. "No, it's not here." He replied to Shane. Balance looked at Blake. "I guess, Roger and Anita took them to the new sub Restaurant." She said to Blake. "Think we can get to them, before they leave that restaurant?" Blake asked. Balance nodded. "Oh, yeah." She replied. Balance ran out of the barn with her siblings right behind her, as they headed toward the town. "Where should we look?" Shane asked. "There should be a sign, with a character on it." Balance replied to Shane. "So, you're saying it could be a character with a Hamburger for a head?" Blake asked. Balance just looked at Blake with a weird look. "You need to stop watching those fast food commercials, bro." She replied to him. They stopped running when they got to the city. "I guess we should start looking." Balance said to her siblings. They walked through the city, searching for their family, they searched, they searched and searched some more, when they came to a window, they didn't know if it was the restaurant that Joey, Belchic and Tippy were talking about. Balance looked around to see if there was anything to stand on, unfortunely there wasn't any chairs to push up to the windows to see if their family was in the restaurant. "Blake, get on my shoulders." She said to her brother. Shawn nodded knowing that it had come to this. Balance walked toward the wall and stood on her hindlegs, Blake walked up and got on top of her, Shawn walked up to Balance. He then got on Balance's and Blake's shoulders. Balance looked at Shane. "You're next." She said to her brother. Shane nodded, he walked up, climbing up on Balance, Blake and Shawn, till he was on Shawn's shoulders. "You see anything up there?" Balance asked. Shane looked inside and saw that the people were just eating regular food. "It's just Hamburgers, Pork Rib eyes and Baby Back Ribs." He said back down to Balance. "Alright." Balance said to Shane. Shane, Shawn and Blake got off of Balance as she just sat there. She pondered where the Sub Restaurant was, when she heard a voice. "Hey, you guys, over here!" A Voice called out. Balance and her siblings looked to see that Tippy was waving her left forepaw motioning for them to come over to her location. Balance and her siblings ran over to Tippy. Blake looked and saw that it was a sign of a guy with a sub in two hands as he looked happy, fixing to take a bite, underneath the guy was the words. "SubPlace." "When did this open up?" Shane asked. "Yesterday." Tippy replied. Tippy led the others to Roger and Anita, who gave them their subs. Balance's sub was Sweet Onion Teriyaki Chicken. Shawn's was a Meatball Sub Blake's was a Turkey Rueben. Shane's was a Spicy Italian. "Eat up guys." Roger spoke. Balance could smell the sweet smell of the aroma as she dug into her sub sandwich. Shawn, Blake and Shane was enjoying the taste of their subs as well. "Think we'll be doing this again?" Blake asked his sister. Balance nodded. "Yeah, but this time, let's go with the Family, instead." She spoke.
