Final Chapter
“He’s right… let’s go!” the mysterious dog said as she jumped out of the broken window.
“What is she?! Crazy?!” Nuke said in shock.
“Well, she did say that YOU were right…” Drake replied.
“Shut up…”
The rest of them took the long route through the building, and as they came out of the main door, they find Creed lying on the ground, barely able to move, with Luci standing over him.
“ What happened?!” Volkner exclaimed.
“He’s… too strong… I realize now that I was wrong… forgive me…” Creed replied, coughing a bit.
“You gonna be okay?”
“I think so… now go! Don’t look back! Trust your own strength!”
“I want you all to stay out of hams way, you understand?” Volkner told the others as he ran towards his mother.
“Why does HE always get the spotlight?” Nuke complained.
“Because he’s the writer’s fursona…” Drake replied.
“Oh yeah…”
Volkner’s mother began to glow brightly and in a flash, she gained large, white feathered angelic wings.
“What the…” Volkner said, his mouth opened wide in surprise.
“What? You mean she never told you?”
“She who?”
“Your “Mother” … So I guess you know nothing about it?”
“WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!?”
“I guess not… do as Creed said, and trust your strength. Give it all you’ve got. I want you to concentrate… on your friends… your loved ones... think about the pain this beast could inflict on them with a single strike. You don’t want that to happen do you?”
“No… NO! I won’t let it happen!” Volkner yelled as he began to glow as well. He had a look of aw on his face, as did the others.
“ What IS, Volkner, a light bulb?!” Nuke exclaimed, as Fay put a paw to her forehead.
His right eye turned red, and a wing like his mother’s protruded through his right shoulder. A more bat or dragon like black wing was on his left.
“…that’s what.” His mother said with a giggle.
“You ready?”
“It’s my purpose…”
Volkner’s mother ran towards the demon like creature, and took to the sky flying straight for his face.
“Not you…” It said.
“Oh, it’s me alright!”
“How long has it been, Sylia?... I look forward to taking your life…”
“You’re not taking ANY lives!” Volkner said, flying towards his stomach. He swiped his paw, and a strange light emanated from it as it stuck. It caused the unusually large creature to wail out in pain.
“How did such a minor strike even cause him to FLINCH?” Verith said taking a step forward.
“Yeah, I think we can stop worrying now, guys…” Nuke said.
“Don’t underestimate him…” Drake responded.
“How…” The creature asked.
“I had a litter before they locked me away… one survived… too bad for you, it was this one!” Sylia said, as she struck in the same spot, causing him to walk backwards a bit. He stumbled back with each hit, and the further he went back, the closer he came to the gate. Volkner and Sylia both rapidly hit him. He was almost back inside the gate, when he shook it off, and smacked Sylia to the ground.
“You dirty son of a…” Volkner said flying high into air, and away from the beast.
“What’s he doing now?! He’s not retreating is he?” Creed asked.
“I don’t think so…” Luci replied.
Volkner stopped in the air, flapping his wings to maintain his altitude. He focused all of his energy into his front paws, and held them together. A mass of energy, pale blue with a black center, began growing in front of them. It came to be bigger than Volkner himself, and e let in loose. When it hit the beast it exploded into a bright, blinding light, and he fell over behind the gate he emerged from.
“Whoa…. Note to self: Don’t piss Volk off anymore…” Nuke said with wide eyes.
Sylia stood to her feet and ran to the left door of the gate, and Volkner descended to the one on the right. Together, they pushed it shut. And it slowly disappeared.
Volkner approached his friends, tired and out of breath. “Hey Luci… if you ever have kids… NEVER TELL THEM THEY CAN DO THAT!” He exclaimed as Luci giggled a bit.
“Volkner… I apologize again for what happened…” creed said standing to his feet., “Do you think it’s alright if we… Luci and I stayed on your farm?”
“I don’t see why it would be a problem…” He replied with a grin.
“Volkner… my gate will close soon on it’s own and… well, if I’m not behind it, they’ll just hunt me down and throw me behind it anyway… may as well do it the easy way, right?” Sylia said sadly.
“Oh… that’s too bad…” Volkner replied.
“Will you come with me for a few minutes? It wont take long…”
“Uh… I guess so.”
Volkner and His mother headed up to the gate, and walked into it. Inside, it was beautiful. A bright, cloudless sky, emerald green grass, sparkling water. It was paradise.
“Volkner… why don’t you… stay here with me? Nothing can happen to you here, and-“
“I’m sorry…I can’t… I have too many friends… my sister… and Fay…”
“Well then you better hurry before the gate closes… I love you, Volkner…”
Volkner looked to his side, and the gate was starting to close already. “NO!” he exclaimed running for the door. As he drew nearer, the other’s heard his screams and ran into the building and up the stair to the gate. They were almost shut as Volkner neared them. He was almost there, and as soon as he got to them, they shut in his face. He ran into the door, and with a thud, fell to the ground. On the other end, the gate disappeared into thin air.
“Volkner!” Fay exclaimed.
“What’s the problem? Just open it again!” Nuke said.
“I can only do it once...”
“Oh… so… is he stuck there forever?”
“Well… maybe… Let’s just hope that… one of my pups inherits the ability…” Fay said putting a paw on her belly.
“Wait! PUPS?! You mean…. Whoah…. Yeah, this does suck…. Great timing Volk…” Nuke said.
“It’s not funny!!!” Amaranth yelled at Nuke with a growl.
“Sorry…”
“Look, we’ll figure something out! All I did, and he still forgave me. I tried to kill him, his friends, his mate… I owe him. Until then, let’s just go back to the farm…” creed said.
“Just a minute…” said a familiar voice.
“I’m owed an apology… and I’m going to get it…” Carnage said as he walked into the room, Cyra not far behind.
“Crap! Quick! The window!” Drake said jumping out. The others followed behind. Carnage and Cyra chased after them, and jumped out as well. They chased them all the was back to the woods. They were all running out a breath, and growing tired. Verith smiled and ran ahead of everyone else.
“Don’t give up!!! Just keep going!” He yelled. Verith and the others passed a large, rotten tree. Once they were passed it, Requiem and Dirge jumped out of it, blocking Carnage and Cyra’s path.
“d**n! They got us again!” Carnage said.
“Let’s have a little fun with this, brother…” Dirge said with a growl.
Everyone arrived on the farm safe. The sun was just coming up, and they hadn’t slept a wink.
“I should go back now… Fay… I’m sorry about Volkner…” Verith said returning to the woods.
“Well, as much as I enjoyed the running, and the screaming, and the dying, I’m gonna leave now. Later…” Drake said walking off.
Fay trotted off to the barn with a sad look on her face.
“Volkner… don’t worry…” Amaranth said to hersef as she followed.
“They ditched me AGAIN!” Nuke yelled running behind them.
THE END

Awesome end to an awesome fic. ^^
Kinda sucks that Volkner is trapped in another dimension for the moment, but also glad that Creed and Luci pretty much turned good and they still saved the day. Excellent work, supergamecube. ^^
