Like the article, which Bishop posted, reads; Artic Dogs appears to have set a record for smallest opening for a Film playing is more than Two-Thousand-And-Four-Hundred Theaters! Though, some thing I am curious on is; Did any Pups see this Film get advertised, any where!? So this is a record not just for animated films or 2019 movies, but all movies in general?

I was told that it got an advertisement in Toy Story 4 but I was late so I missed it. I did see an ad spot in the 2019 Lion King and that was my first exposure to it.
At least UglyDolls won't be the only kids animated movie to be utterly buried under its competition.
It just doesn't seem like the type of movie to command top box-office dollar; it's like Mom and Dad know that Frozen 2 is coming but the kids can't wait that long, but this will be something to tide them over until then. However, the parents aren't willing to spend time and money on seeing it (if it was DTV that would be another story), their older siblings refuse to go, the neighbors and babysitter also aren't interested so... maybe the kids can go see it next time Grandma comes over?
Something tells me that if this movie makes its way to Canada, AniMat is going to tear it apart.
Mercilessly.

The moment you’ve all been waiting for! youtu.be/8lQMgT72Q78My God was he frustrated with this movie! Story: 1/10 Animation: 3/10 Characters: 2/10 Overall: 2/10 = 20% He also apparently has a new fanfare for movies with scores this low. Well, needless to say, this is now AniMatt’s pick for the worst animated movie of 2019! See for yourself: 1. Toy Story 4 - 97% 2. How to Train Your Dragon 3 - 86% 3. Missing Link - 80% 4. Lego Movie 2 - 70% 5. Angry Birds 2 - 63% 6. Secret Life of Pets 2 - 60% 7. Abominable - 57% 8. Wonder Park - 43% 9. UglyDolls - 40% 10. Addams Family - 37% 11. Arctic Dogs - 20% After that review, I’m starting to think nothing will go lower than that! Not even Playmobil or Spies in Disguise! I’m predicting Frozen 2 will be placed in between Toy Story 4 and Dragon 3.

Justice is served. Man I think the last time we had such a bad year for animated films was back in 2013. And ironically Frozen was easily the best from that year. Guess what's coming later this month? Moral of the story: wait for Frozen 2. (BTW, that music is the Game Over music from Super Mario 64.) EDIT: According to a post he made, AniMat says he changed his music due to a copyright claim (it is music owned by Disney after all).

Playmobil already came out in Europe. General image: it's a dud and a cheap Lego Movie ripoff just like it looked.

I had a feeling it would be like if The Lego Movie was supposed to be dumb and patronizing it would be that movie.
I saw a RebelTaxi review on Arctic Dogs and he says:
The climax sounds like it is unbelievably awkward. Imagine if that was Jade...?

This weekend guys... Frozen 2 is coming. It has a solid score on RT and it's critical consensus is this: Frozen II can't quite recapture the showstopping feel of its predecessor, but it remains a dazzling adventure into the unknown. Also I will share the ultimatedisney.com review here: www.dvdizzy.com/frozenII-film.html

Okay guys I just got back from Frozen 2. Here are my initial thoughts:
This movie is a sequel to the critically-loved and billion-dollar grossing movie from 2013 that technically won Disney Feature Animation the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for the first time. It does retcon some aspects from the first movie in that we are permitted to learn more about the two heroines’ past and how they came to be.
As someone who was not completely won over by the first movie (I did enjoy it and did see it twice, first time at Tinseltown and the second back when the Keno Drive-In was still open), I was not itching for a Part 2 but was confident that this movie would still be a success. Six years does seem like a long wait for a sequel but I acknowledge that as they were waiting until they had a story worth telling. A lot of love was going into this sequel and great care was taken to ensure this was not just a cash-in.
What I will say is the movie is every bit as good as the first movie, maybe just marginally superior. The story does feel more attuned to having the characters in the drivers’ seat but they are allowed to be expanded upon. Most of the movie is Elsa and Anna discovering their parents’ past and what they can do to fix old issues. The story does not contradict established lore and has no snarls with continuity.
Another aspect is they give Kristoff a more active role and Olaf the snowman is now the funnyman but still knows when to be serious. To me that was probably a better idea than have one be the generic help and the other constantly preaching about heart.
I will say though, that it does not seem to have a true villain—only the feud between the two kingdoms was really an issue that was a cause for conflict, much like how on Ralph Breaks the Internet Ralph’s clinginess on Vanellope was later personified to become a villain. I am positive that this movie will hold up better with time though.
I will say I did enjoy my time with the movie and I will more than likely be seeing it again over Thanksgiving weekend. I will probably even say this movie may be my pick for the Best Animated Film of the year—even surpassing Toy Story 4.
The only hurdle that it may have now is when it comes to the Academy Awards, it may not win Best Animated Feature because it is a sequel and the first movie had already won the award. I do believe though that the movie does deserve its positive reception and box-office success.
Leaving the theatre I found myself likening its status to my job and how we are leading up to Seasonal Peak at Amazon: do you remember the cold reception and box-office bomb status given to Arctic Dogs and how that was the “Calm”? Well, now that we have Frozen 2, we now have the “Storm”.
Frozen 2 TreyVore rates it: A-

It was just recently announced that Shaun The Sheep: Farmeggeddon will not be released in theaters in North America. Instead, it’s going to be a Netflix exclusive in February 2020.

I just saw the movie today. While I don’t think it was as good as the first one, it still felt like a worthy successor that felt important rather than a quick cash grab. I’d easily rank it as one of the best of the year.
Another thing I want to say: AniMat said in his latest Q&A video that the reason he changed his bottom of the barrel theme was because of copyright reasons.

AniMat’s review of Frozen II is up. Here are the scores:
Story: 7/10 Animation: 10/10 Characters: 8/10 Songs: 9/10
Overall: 8.5/10 = 85%
I was honestly surprised that this movie didn’t get his seal of approval. Well, regardless, heres where the movies rank with him now:
1. Toy Story 4 - 97% 2. How to Train Your Dragon 3 - 86% 3. Frozen II - 85% 4. Missing Link - 80% 5. Lego Movie 2 - 70% 6. Angry Birds 2 - 63% 7. Secret Life of Pets 2 - 60% 8. Abominable - 57% 9. Wonder Park - 43% 10. UglyDolls - 40% 11. Addams Family - 37% 12. Arctic Dogs - 20%
At this point, I don’t know if he’ll get around to adding in Spies in Disguise since it’s coming out on Christmas. Though if he does, and he likes it better than Secret Life of Pets 2, I am going to be extremely embarrassed!

I guess that means just because it's Disney doesn't guarantee a Seal of Approval?
Anyway, this weekend we are getting Playmobil: the Movie. It doesn't look like this "Lego Movie, but cheaper" film is getting any better of a reputation. Here's it's RT consensus:
Much like the toys it advertises, Playmobil: the Movie seems sadly destined to get regarded as a superficially similar yet less desirable alternative to the competition.
So I think I'll pass on this movie. After this, all we have left is Spies in Disguise.

I almost forgot about AniMatt’s video today! He reviewed the Playmobil Movie! The verdict? Well...let’s just say it’s not pretty:
Story: 1/10 Animation: 6/10 Characters: 3/10 Songs: 3/10
Overall: 3/10 = 33%
I guess there’s no need to say it got his SEAL OF GARBAGE.
Now, here’s how it looks:
1. Toy Story 4 - 97% 2. How to Train Your Dragon 3 - 86% 3. Frozen II - 85% 4. Missing Link - 80% 5. Lego Movie 2 - 70% 6. Angry Birds 2 - 63% 7. Secret Life of Pets 2 - 60% 8. Abominable - 57% 9. Wonder Park - 43% 10. UglyDolls - 40% 11. Addams Family - 37% 12. Playmobil Movie - 32% 13. Arctic Dogs - 20%
All we got left now is Spies in Disguise. Hopefully he’ll get around to reviewing that before he does his Top 5 Best and Worst of 2019. Though judging by what I saw in the trailers, I think Spies in Disguise certainly looks worthy of a Seal of Garbage, but I so hope Mat doesn’t give it a higher score than Pets 2; that’ll be so embarrassing!
