Here you go guys, story 5, while I'm going to be posting this up every Friday, I'm going to be working on Story 6, the next two stories after that will be a solo adventure, please enjoy. ----- Chapter 1 It was dark, as the stars filled the night sky, inside the barn, a female Dalmatian with two white ears and three spots in a straight line woke up seeing her brother tossing and turning, she got up and stretched as she walked over to her brother. “Shawn wake up, you're having a nightmare.” She said to her brother. Shawn a Male Dalmatian with a left black ear and a right white ear, five spots on his left fore leg, a scar on his fore right paw, spots that form a fire symbol on his back and three spots on his hind legs, woke up and saw his sister was next to him. “Bal, why are you still awake? It’s 3 in the morning.” He said to her as he was still drowsy. “You were having a nightmare.” Balance said to Shawn. “You were moving and saying something about mom no.” “It’s nothing.” Shawn said to Balance. “I… I… I guess I just miss our mother.” “I know, but what can we do, nothing is going to bring her back.” Balance spoke to her brother as she sat down next to Shawn. “I know, I just can’t believe those three strays actually killed her, did they have to take our mother away from us and why did TJ have to keep it a secret from us? We have the right to know about her death.” Shawn said to his sister. Balance stroked Shawn’s fur. “TJ probably wanted us to be safe, not go after her killers, maybe he was worried that we would’ve ended up the same way.” She replied to her brother. “That’s true and come to think of it, maybe that’s why he taught us how to fight.” Shawn agreed as he got up and stretched, he then sat down and looked at his sister. “But the question is, are we going to do something about the strays?” Balance shook her head. “I don’t know.” She replied to Shawn. “Vlad said he will help us out with those strays.” “Whoever this Vlad guy is, I hope he’s on our side.” Shawn said to Balance as he laid himself down. Balance saw her brother fixing to go back to sleep. “Are you sure, you want to go back to sleep, bro?” She asked him. Shawn nodded. “Of course.” He replied to Balance with a yawn. “We’ve got training in the morning, got to give TJ credit, he did offer to the Colonel, that he would teach us.” Balance nodded. “True.” She said to her brother as she went back to her spot and laid down, she then looked at her brother. “Night.” She said to Shawn. “Night.” Shawn replied as he went back to sleep, Balance did the same. The next morning, Balance woke up. "I'M A GOOD PUP!" Shawn cried as he suddenly jolted up, he looked around his surroundings, breathing heavily, his heart was pounding like crazy out of fear, as it took some time for him to calm down and relax. Balance looked and saw that her brother was awake. "Shawn, are you okay?" She asked. "Yeah... I'm fine..." Shawn replied. "You never did get any sleep last night, did you?" Balance asked Shawn really wanted to tell his sister that he did indeed get the sleep that he needed to greet the day, but instead, just shook his head. "No... I didn't..." He replied. "Was it about our mother again?" Balance asked. Shawn nodded as a sign that he did hear. "Yeah." He replied to his sister. Balance thought for a minute. "Come with me, I'm going to see if someone can help you." She spoke as she started walking toward the barndoor leading outside. Shawn followed his sister. "What if they can't?" He asked. "Stop being so negative, Shawn." Balance replied. "I'm not, it's just that there's always that possibility." Shawn spoke. "Trust me, the only pup I know of, has to be here." Balance spoke. "This pup's not going to enter my mind, are they?" Shawn asked out of curiousity. Balance shook her head. "Nope, I also suggest you stop reading our brothers Comic's if you have." She suggested, she then saw Cadpig and walked up to her. "Hey Cadpig, I was wondering..." Cadpig was seen meditating near the chow tower, she had a bump on her head after being pushed by Rolly again. "Am I... Interrupting anything?" She asked. Cadpig shook her head. "No, you're not." She replied as she smiled. "I was just meditating, what's up?" She asked as the runt looked at both Balance and Shawn, though she could sense something was wrong with Shawn since he wasn't really looking at her. "I was wondering if you could help my brother, he seems to be having trouble sleeping, due to having bad dream last night." Balance explained. "Hm, hm, hm." Cadpig hummed as she walked over to Shawn and examined him more. "Well, he does have a dark aura." Shawn looked at Cadpig raising an Eye Ridge. "Aura? What's my aura got to do with me not being able to sleep?" He asked. "Nothing really." Cadpig replied. "But dreams can reflect on something that you feel, depression, anger, happy, dark, light, horror, fantasy, the List goes on." Cadpig looked at Shawn's eyes. "Even Guilt." "I don't believe that I have anything to be guilty for." Shawn explained. "Not even a tiny bit?" Cadpig asked taking her paw and using it as an expression of Shawn might have a little bit of guilt. Balance looked at Cadpig. "Well, there was that moment when he said he was a good pup." She said to her. "Does that help?" "Sort of, but who would he be saying that too." Cadpig replied as she crossed her forelegs trying to figure this out. Shawn looked at Balance and Cadpig. "What? It was just a dream, I'm sure it'll go away by tonight." He explained as he goes toward the trough. Cadpig placed her paw on her chin. "I don't know, something here seems fishy." She spoke to Balance referring to Shawn's behavior of trying to get out of talking about the dream. "Anything we could do?" Balance asked Cadpig. Cadpig shook her head. "Only if your brother wants to talk about it, but other than for that, I recommand keeping an eye on him, make sure everything is going to be okay." She replied to Balance. The Female pup nodded her head in agreement.

Chapter 2
Night came as Blake walked up to the second floor. "That was pretty fun, who knew that Spot could dive like that." He spoke as he got up to the second floor. "I was thinking that maybe we could play that Five Nights at Cruella's game that Roger made."
Shane got up to the second floor next. "Well, Spot still can't divebomb as fast as a Peregrine Falcon." Shane replied to his brother. "The Peregrine Falcon is the fastest bird of 389 kilometers, which is very..." He stopped and noticed that Blake had fallen asleep, he nudged his young brother.
"I'm awake, I'm awake." Blake spoke. "Just find your spot." Shane sighed as they walked over to their siblings.
Balance and Shawn were the last ones. "You sure, you're going to be okay?" Balance asked her brother.
Shawn nodded. "I'll be fine, just need to..." Shawn spoke before he yawned. "Get some rest, today was just an exhausting day." He walked over to his sleeping spot and curled up, falling asleep.
"I hope you're right." Balance spoke as she walked over to her sleeping spot, she looked at her brother once more before falling asleep.
Later that night, Shawn started tossing and turning, but something was going on inside his mind as he started envisioning his mother again.
Shawn sees his mother and smiles he runs up to her. “Mom, I’m glad to see you.” He told her.
But his mother didn’t seem too happy to see her son. She claws his muzzle.
As claw mark appear on Shawn's muzzle, he shook off the impact of his mother's scratch as he whimpered a bit from the pain. “Why did you do that, mother?” He asked his mother.
Jenna gave him a dirty look. “It’s because of you that those fiends were after me.” She growled.
Shawn was confused. “I’m sorry, mom.” He said to her.
“You were suppose to protect me not go to sleep!” Jenna yelled at him.
“I didn’t know about the attack.” Shawn replied. “Liar!” Jenna yelled.
Jenna claws her son again. “Maybe it’s best you leave the Dearly Farm, before you cause any more trouble.”
With that Shawn woke up, he sees his brothers and sisters are still asleep he sneaks by his brothers and sisters, including his adopted parents as he gets up a hill he looks back at what he called home. “I’m sorry, please forgive me.” He said with a tear rolling down his cheek. He leaves never to see his friends and family again.

Chapter 3
"Wakey, wakey." Blake spoke softly, Balance opened her eyes as she saw Blake was standing next to her. "Blake... What is it?" She asked as she tried to fight to stay awake hoping this was important. "This better... Not be one of your tricks."
Blake shook his head. "No, it's more important." He said to his sister.
"Shawn's not at the farm." Shane added. "WHAT?!" Balance exclaimed. "Yeah, he must've left us again." Blake replied. "AGAIN?!" Balance exclaimed.
Balance reached the slide as she ran out of the barn like a streak of lightning with Blake right behind her.
As soon as Shane saw his sister and brother race out of the barn, he followed them baffled about why they were running so fast.
"What's going on?" Shane asked. "Shawn started having a nightmare." Balance replied to Shane. "A nightmare? That's new for Shawn, he never gets nightmares." Blake spoke. "Tell me about it." Balance spoke
A chicken with gray feathers and spots on them watched Balance and her siblings leave the barn as she followed them. "Hey guys, what are you three doing?" She asked.
"Shawn, has gone missing." Balance replied. "We're going after him."
"Maybe I can help, I did solve the cases of..." "Of that giant egg and the missing Kibble." Shane added on "We'll need all the help that we can get." Blake spoke.
As soon as they made it to the city, they began their search, in the alleyways, around the store's, they couldn't find him, there was no scent to follow, or a sign that could tell them where they could find him.
Spot looked underneath her talons, wondering if there was a paw print that she was standing on and looked at Balance and her siblings. "Can we find some kind transportation?" She asked.
Balance saw that Spot had a point as she nodded. "Yeah." She spoke, she then saw a truck with an open door, she saw that a guy with short blonde hair, a black shirt and dark blue jeans. "Here's the pizza that you ordered." He spoke.
Balance and her siblings ran over to the Truck with Spot following them.
Spot saw that the back of the truck's camper door was open too. As she looked and noticed that Shane and Blake were getting in the passenger seat. "Balance, let's get in the back of the truck, no one can see us there." She suggested.
Balance shook her head. "Negative, it's not safe in the back of the truck, we'll be safe in the passenger seat." She replied as she jumped up onto the passenger's seat.
"Fine!" Spot spoke, she ran toward the back of the truck and flew in, but not before hitting the stick proping the door open with her wing and the door closed on her butt, causing her to fly toward and hit the window with her beak, after slidng down, she shook the impact off and looked around the back of the camper which she saw had a empty soda cup, a box that held Onion rings and a large metal chest.
The kid got in the truck and started up the car.
Spot got on the metal box, looking at the pups, who were on the passenger seat, with the passenger door shut, she assumed that they must've been seen when the driver was going to get in. "The front is safer than the back, what idiots." She muttered.
The kid slammed his foot on the gas petal and hit the road, knocking the Chicken back, sending her flying toward the back of the camper, as she felt pain in her back, the pizza delivery guy turned the truck and Spot went flying toward the window, as she hit her face.
The truck started going up a hill, as Spot shook from the impacts that she was given and saw the metal chest sliding real quick toward her, she screamed as the Metal Chest made contact.
The Pizza delivery guy got out of the truck and walked over to the passenger side, opening up the door. "Alright, you pups had your fun, now it's time for you three to go on home now." He spoke.
Balance, Shane and Blake complied and jumped down from the passenger seat, the Delivery man shut the door and headed toward the pizza place where he worked.
"Did you see Shawn, Blake?" Balance asked.
Blake shook his head. "No, I didn't see him." He replied.
Balance looked and noticed the sun was going down. "We'll continue our search in the morning, I just hope he's safe, wherever he is." She spoke.
The three pups started walking away, as the back door of the truck opened up, Spot climbed out as she was battered and injuried. "Okay, maybe Balance was right, but that doesn't mean the day couldn't be better." She spoke.
Spot started to walk away from the truck, when she heard a horn honk, she looked and was hit by an upcoming blue Sadan as she flew off into the night sky.

Chapter 4
Shawn was trying to get some sleep. "Mother... No... I... Didn't..." He spoke, he tossed and turned, as another dream of his mother appeared.
Shawn sees his mother again but this time she refuses to believe him. “I remember now, it was you who sent those goons after me.” Said Jenna, Shawn was shocked by the way his mom would accuse him of something he would never do.
"I would nev…” “Do you want me to claw you?!” Jenna snapped.
Shawn just hung his head. “No.” He said as his mother circled around him.
“Then don’t even call me a liar.” Jenna warned her son.
Shawn was hurt that his own mother was even accusing him of calling her a liar.
“You know…” She said as she sat on her rear, she continued to look at her son.
“I wouldn’t do such a thing, you have to believe me.” Shawn interrupted her.
Jenna took her paw and clawed him real hard.
“Don’t you ever interrupt me and call me a liar!!” Jenna yelled. Blood was dripping down from his muzzle where his mother clawed him.
A tear ran down his face,
she was unfazed by the glimpse of it. “You can go ahead and cry if you want, but if it weren’t for you I would still be alive.” She told him.
Shawn instantly woke up as he shook his head. "Okay, this is getting monotonous." He spoke, he got up and started walking unaware that something was following him in the shadows behind the trees in the woods.
--------
Balance couldn't stop pacing around at the farm. She didn't want to think about the bad things that could happen to her brother.
"I'm sure everything's going to be okay." Shane spoke. "I hope you're right." Balance spoke.
"If it makes you feel any better." Blake began to speak as he walked up to Balance and Shane. "There's one place we haven't checked."
"What's that?" Balance asked. "His favorite place in the woods." Blake replied.
Balance and Shane looked at Blake.
"Follow me." Blake spoke as he walked out of the barn.
Balance and Shane followed their brother as the full moon was out in the night sky, as they entered the woods, it looked creepy at night, as far as Blake could see, thinking that the spirits of ghosts reside in the trees at night.
He should've taken his mother's advice when it came to a game show involving the Dark Forest.
Balance and Shane continued to follow Blake, as Balance saw that Blake was shaking. "There's no need to fear, bro, we're right behind you, just lead the way." Balance assured him.
"That's what I'm afraid of." Blake replied.
Shane and Balance looked at each other and walked beside him instead in order to calm his nerves a little.
"It's not because of that Gameshow you saw back at Adam's, right?" Balance asked.
Blake shook his head. "Pffft, no, I'm not afraid anything in these woods." He replied.
They made it to Hiccup Hole, where they noticed that Shawn was trying to get some sleep, he was laying next to the pond where the pups liked to swim, when they had the chance, except for Balance.
The three pups walked over to Shawn and nudged him. "Shawn, it's time to wake up." Balance spoke.
Shawn opened his eyes and looked drowzy, as he tried to keep his eyes open, he yawned and stretched out his body, wondering what his siblings wanted. "Hey.. guys, what's up?" He asked.
"We've come to take you back." Shane replied.
"Take me back...? But I..." Shawn asked, he didn't know what to say, he knew he didn't want to be a burden to his friends and family, he sighed. "Mom said, that you guys would be better off without me."
The three pups gasped, Balance looked at her brother. "When?" She asked. "It couldn't have been before we left Adam's."
Shawn shook his head. "No, it happened when I was sleeping, mom thought that I was at fault cause I was sleeping instead of helping her and was the one that organized the attack." He explained.
"I see." Blake spoke.
Balance walked over to Shawn and gave him a hug. "That's just your thoughts, mom would never think that, besides, the attack happened during the night, we all have to sleep sometime, right?" She asked.
Shawn nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're right." He spoke.
"Don't be afraid to tell us of what you may feel, the dog that's telling you to leave us and telling you that it's your fault isn't our mother, it's your guilt that's telling you that." Balance spoke.
"Right, I'll do my best to remember that." Shawn spoke.
Balance lets go of her brother and looks at Blake and Shane, "Alright fella's, let's head out to the farm."
Both Blake and Shane nodded with Shawn smiling, but before they headed out, some Coyotes were surrounding them. Balance looked at the Coyotes. "The Coyotes!" She shouted.
Blake looked at one of them. "Are... They friendly?" He asked.
Shane noticed one was baring it's teeth. "They don't look friendly." He replied to Blake.
Balance looked at her brothers. "Remember your training." She spoke as she extended her claws.
Her brothers followed suit.
Shawn grinned knowing now he would like to show what he is made of. "Don't worry, Sis, let's show these Coyotes that we're not to be underestimated."

Ah yes the Dark Forest, and that room has a high chance of a Temple Guard in one of the trees. Then again in season 3 there was a high chance of a Temple Guard in the Room of the Ancient Warriors

Chapter 5
The Coyotes charged at the pups,
Balance ran toward her targets, slicing and dicing with her claws, parrying their claws with hers, she had to admit that they were fast when it came to attacking as the four Coyotes were on top of her, not giving her room to escape as her claws defended her from theirs.
Shawn just dodged the attacks that the Coyotes were giving him, if they tried to attack low, he'd jump, if they attacked high or in the mid, Shawn would duck. "Nice Punch." He complimented the Coyote, he ducked a kick. "Nice Falcon Kick." He then grinned as he twirled, kicking his Coyotes in the face with his hind leg.
Blake looked and noticed that when he started attacking two Coyotes, they defended against his attacks, like they knew what his attacks were, if he tried to claw them, they would either block, counterattck or dodge.
Shane swept the two of his Coyotes under their feet as they fell onto the ground, Shane was pleased as he struck the third Coyote with his claw, then a fourth, but was surprised to see that the Coyotes that he struck down wasn't going to go down that easily.
Shane saw that the two Coyotes threw broken pieces of their claws at him, he tried to dodge them, but one scrapped his fur, he placed his paw on his right foreleg.
Blake was back to back with Shane as he walked backward toward his brother as the Coyotes were following him. "Dude, are we winning or are they?" He asked.
Shane went wide-eyed when he saw that the Coyotes were going to try and strike them with the broken pieces of their claws again. He grabs Blake and rushes toward the Pond and dives in, dodging the sharp broken pieces of claws.
Shane and Blake then went up toward the surface to get some air. "Ask me that again after we start winning." He said to his brother. He then had an idea knowing that it was a risk, but they had to do it. He looked and noticed that Balance and Shawn were having trouble.
"Come on, guys, this way." Shane spoke, Balance, Shawn and Blake started following him, as well as the Coyotes.
Shane noticed a bush, he jumped in followed by Blake, Shawn and Balance, there they waited, they saw the Coyotes, searching for them, but noticed Rhonda was near. "Nevermind them." She spoke. "Come, our master has a mission for us!"
The Coyotes nodded and followed her leaving the pups in the bush.
Once the coast was clear, Balance and her siblings let out a sigh of relief as they came out of hiding.
Blake looked at his siblings. "What was up with that?" He asked them. "We did nothing to those guys."
Shane looked at Blake. "Beats me, I figured the Coyotes only come out when their hungry." He replied.
"You don't think they would eat us, do you?" Blake asked. "You'd be surprised by the stories that Clayton and the others can tell." Balance replied as she started walking back to the barn.
Blake, Shawn and Shane followed Balance. "Do you think we should tell TJ about this?" Shawn asked.
Balance thought it over. "We could, but what's the point in worrying him, mom and dad?" She asked.
Shane nodded. "True." He spoke, this really peaked Shane's interest in the wild life. "I think it's best if we do some studying on these Coyotes."
"Think the info would tell us how to beat them?" Blake asked. "No, but chances are, we may learn their habitat, diet and some interesting facts about them." Shane replied.
Shawn looked at Shane. "You plan on making a training simulator for when this happens again?" He asked.
"Pretty much." Shane replied.
----
The pups were back at the farm, they were tired as the four of them got up to the second floor of the barn, where their siblings were, Balance, Shane and Blake went fast to sleep.
Shawn however looked at the open doors of the barn. He yawned and laid down, he started going back to sleep, he knew he had to set things right, he had to face Sheila, Helen and Mack.
But before he could sleep peacefully, he had another dream about his mother.
The Firespotted pup approached his mother, but noticed when he would get close enough in her line of sight, she would turn the other cheek like she didn't want to look at him.
“Mom, it’s me, your son, don’t you remember?” Asked Shawn
“Stop calling me your mother, you’re not my son.” Replied Jenna, turning to look at her son. “My son wouldn’t let me die.”
“You’re right, I wouldn’t let you die.” Shawn agreed. “I’m willing to avenge your death.”
Jenna continued looking at her son as her son continued.
“But I was telling you the truth, I didn’t know about the attack, if you don’t believe me for that, then I guess you’re not fit to be my mother, just my imagination.”
Shawn then begins to walk away as Jenna was shocked by the words he told her. “Shawn... Shawn... wait...” But it was too late, he already left. Jenna hung her head. “Even though I’m not your real mother I bet she would be proud of you if she was here.” Jenna started fading away as the real Jenna appeared. “Thank you.” She turns to walk away as a voice appeared out of nowhere. “M-Mother?”

On Chapter Three, I get the intention is suppose to be a Homage to Toy Story, But I do not think Spot would be in the position that Woody was in, since Spot would probably be the first one insisting they wear Seat belts. I can understand if Blake was in that position, as he tends to be the more wild of the Hikari Pups.
Wait, Balance, Blake, Shane & Spot search all about Gruteley, and Shawn is in the forest, next to the Dearly Farm, this entire time!? Why would that not be the first place they looked!?
I gather the Coyote Case is set up for future Stories, though what are these Stories that the Hikari Pups hear Clayton tell about?
I do see how Shawn’s guilt about his Mother can affect him, but I do kind of feel that there should have been more of an Emotional scene, when the others find him. Like, Balance, Blake or Shane could have expressed their feelings about what happen to their Mother, or, at least, do some thing to show Shawn that he is not alone.
Though, may I ask, are these dreams with Jenna setting up for some thing?
Intriguing Story, though, Shawn. Looking forward to seeing more from you!

Yep, that was a homage, and I understand that you didn't think Spot would be in that position, but she was the comic relief in the 101 Dalmatians TV Series, so I went along with it.
No, when I was writing Chapters Three and Four, he was in the city, he just moved towards the woods hoping that he could get some sleep before his guilt started kicking in. But he was in the city in Life on the Farm Part 2, so I didn't think people would mind if I had them start there and plus, I thought from what I've been told from other RPer's (Not here of course.) Is not to go full Meta, meaning the characters would know exactly where to go or what to do in a situation like this, when in reality they didn't.
Indeed, it's actually a nod to an RP that you and the others did and the RP that my sister and I did with Clayton telling stories (Mentioned only in the RP that my sister and I did, didn't really have permission at the time and I didn't know how to reach you in order to get permission to use him.), I can't remember the name of the RP, since I was skimming through it, but I do remember that the pups were either gathered around the campfire or in the barn telling their own stories.
True, I think he knows that he's not alone, but yeah, I didn't really think that Idea through, I mean look at Full House, when the subject about the mother comes up, we hear sad background music and Danny, Joey and/or Jess comforts his (Danny's) Daughters. However I will be in future stories.
I think the events with the dreams are suppose to lead up to Story 11.
Thanks Bab. Thanks, I'm looking forward to posting more stories.
