Well, due to unfortunate circumstances, many of the planned animated films of 2020 were either postponed or went straight to streaming. I’m hoping by next year, this pandemic will finally let up, and movie theaters will open again. Most of America has recovered from it, but California is unfortunately still on lockdown as of the day I’m making this post.
Considering this pandemic will be over by the end of the year, here is a list of all the animated films tentatively planned for 2021 and my first initial thoughts on them. These are all the ones I can find based on my research. Also, bear in mind this list is subject to change:
Rumble - Pixar should sue! The Loud House Movie - Haven’t seen the show, so why bother? Luck - Top o’ the mornin’, lads! Raya and the Last Dragon - TAKE MY CASH! The Boss Baby 2 - Do they really find this profitable? Bob’s Burgers: The Movie - Totally unnecessary. Ron’s Gone Wrong - Let’s hope they don’t delay this anymore. Vivo - This doesn’t sound very promising... Spirit Riding Free - ...but this sure does! Luca - THIS IS GONNA BE AMAZING! I CAN FEEL IT! Minions: The Rise of Gru - Why, Illumination? Why??? Hotel Transylvania 4 - Why, Sony? Why??? PAW Patrol: The Movie - THE HYPE IS ON! My Little Pony 2 - Farewell, G4. The Bad Guys - Sounds lame, but I could be wrong. Addams Family 2 - You just had to go there, didn’t you? Encanto - I’m sensing a trend here. Sing 2 - Another one of these? Eh, why not?
Looks like we got quite a handful of titles coming. A few sequels, a few based on TV shows, and a few original ideas. Sounds like we got quite a variety of stuff coming in 2021, considering it all happens. The movies I’m most excited about are:
Raya and the Last Dragon Spirit Riding Free Luca PAW Patrol: The Movie My Little Pony 2 Encanto Sing 2
What do you pups think?

Just thought I'd pop on to list the upcoming animated films that I am most looking forward to (some are from 2020). They're in no particular order
1. Soul-two pixar originals in one year? What's wrong with that! (T-giving 2020) 2. Paw Patrol; The movie-1 1/2 hours of PP cuteness...heck yeah! (summer/fall 2021) 3. The Bad Guys-Could be an epic original film. I've got to admit, the books were good;-) (fall 2021) 4. Blazing Samurai-An interesting original. From the first look, it seems as if the characters are well developed and the voice cast is star studded. Plus, the main character's a dog... (2021?)
Upcoming movies that I could get excited about, but am not sure yet... 1. Connected-I could see how it could be funny, but the story seems bland and overplayed. 2. Rumble-Not a huge fan of wrestling, but this one could grow on me. 3. Ron's Gone Wrong-another robot scifi...enough said. 4. Spooky Jack-Ever since Dreamworks took over the movie and converted it from live action to animation, this one's storyline seems interesting. 5. Luck-We have running joke in our house about a force named 'chance' that likes to spite us. This could peek my interest if further developement. 6. Luca-The story just doesn't sound to original... But pixar has a way of making movies grow on me the closer they get to releasing. 7. Raya and the Last Dragon-Same as above. Sounds too much like How to Train Your Dragon.
Another HM that I would have put on this list, but it supposedly already came out is '100% Wolf'. I haven't seen it yet, as I just learned of its release. Anyone here see it, yet? Storyline seems odd, but playable.
Anyone else excited to get back to the theatre? If so, what are the animated films that you are most excited about?

1. Soul is coming out this year, not next year. 2. Blazing Samurai, I thought was canceled, but maybe they’re reviving it? 3. Connected, I never heard of. 4. Spooky Jack has unfortunately been canceled.

"1. Soul is coming out this year, not next year." That's why I said that some on my list were from this year. "2. Blazing Samurai, I thought was canceled, but maybe they’re reviving it?" Yes, it has been fully funded. According to Adrian Politowski, head of the company now signed to fund the project, the film is going to be one of the top animated features of 2021. Here is the article that confirms
"3. Connected, I've never heard of..." Look it up. It's there. As a matter of fact, the 'famed' social media star Doug the Pug lends his 'barks' to the pup in the film. "4. Spooky Jack has unfortunately been canceled." I just looked this up, and it appears that while not confirmed to be cancelled, it has been removed from DW release schedule.

Okay, so I just looked these movies up.
Blazing Samurai is apparently slate to be released next summer, but only in Portugal as far as we know.
Connected is actually coming out in a couple weeks, but only in Australia with other countries following suit later in the month, and there are no plans to release it in the US (at least not theatrically).
Spooky Jack is still a go, but we don’t have a release date for it yet.

Bob's Burgers: the Movie - I still like! Rumble - Junk. Spirit Riding Free - Vindication was kind! Vivo - Not trusting this. Luca - Pixar is back! Minions: The Rise of Gru - Hopefully it's good. PAW Patrol: The Movie - Kiddie matinee? Pass. Hotel Transylvania 4 - Ugh, no more! The Boss Baby: Family Business - More of this crap!? Addams Family 2 - Not another one! Encanto - Disney is back! Sing 2 - Sure, why not? How's that, Belchic?

I also noticed you added Bob’s Burgers kinda like how I added MLP2. Nice job.

I also noticed you added Bob’s Burgers kinda like how I added MLP2. Nice job. I'm going to take a moment to explain myself about my first thoughts: Connected - I did see a few advertisements about this movie and it seems a little cliche. I'm not going to totally rule it out, but... we'll see. Raya and the Last Dragon - I was hoping to see this movie back in 2020 but since the pandemic hit, that wasn't possible. I still want to see this movie though. Bob's Burgers: the Movie - As a fan of mature cartoons in general, yes I want to see this movie. Rumble - This movie looks awful. Wrestling movies aren't really known for heart, and the monster angle isn't enough to win me over so I'll probably pass on this. Spirit Riding Free - I haven't even seen the original movie from 2002 but I guess it had been vindicated and it saw a TV series. I'm undecided on this one. Vivo - The details on this are a bit sketchy. I first thought it was about a monkey but instead it's about a Kinkajou that travels from Cuba to Miami to realize his dreams for adventure and music. At best it's probably going to be of the same quality as Rio and at worst it's going to suck. Luca - Being that it's a Pixar movie, yes. Minions: The Rise of Gru - As a fan of Despicable Me/Minions I am looking forward to this being yet another hold over from the 2020 pandemic. Hopefully the extra year to work on it will work to its advantage. PAW Patrol: The Movie - I am familiar with the show but not too keen on pre-K shows. If nothing else my idea of fun is not sitting in a theater room full of crying/screaming kids (hence the "kiddie matinee" label). A DTV release would probably be more ideal. Hotel Transylvania 4 - Not a fan of this series so no. I know it does have its fans but I never liked the Hotel Transylvania series very much. A fourth installment is just overkill. The Boss Baby: Family Business - The Boss Baby was not even all that good. A definite no for me. Addams Family 2 - I felt ripped off from the first Addams Family, being that it was such a snore. Not bothering with it. Encanto - A Disney movie, and I say yes. Sing 2 - The first movie was good, so I say this movie will probably work. Those are my detailed thoughts. What do you think Belchic?

Interesting, Trey_Vore. I guess I will follow suit. Connected - This movie kinda came out of nowhere. The details are a little bland, so I don’t know what to make of it, and I doubt it’ll be released theatrically in the US. Raya and the Last Dragon - I remember hearing about this at the D23 Expo, and I thought it felt like a breath of fresh air to see Disney do an original idea rather than a sequel. I know it’s going to be available on Disney+ for a fee during its theatrical run, and I bet it’ll be worth that fee. I just hope it doesn’t become overrated like Tangled, Frozen, Big Hero 6, Zootopia and Moana. Bob's Burgers: the Movie - I’m not a fan of the show, so I’ll pass. Rumble - This movie just looks like a rip-off of Monsters, Inc. That’s pretty much all I need to say. Spirit Riding Free - When I first heard about this movie, I didn’t know it was going to be a sequel to a Dreamworks movie from almost 20 years ago. I didn’t even know it had a TV series! Regardless, I’m gonna pass on this one. Vivo - Again, the details are bland, but considering Sony is making it, chances are it’s gonna suck. Luca - Based on what I know about this movie, I have a very strong feeling this is going to be the best animated film of the year! Minions: The Rise of Gru - The Minions are not the reason I love the Despicable Me films. They didn’t need their own spin-off movie, let alone a sequel! I’d rather see Illumination make a third Secret Life of Pets movie. PAW Patrol: The Movie - Being a fan of the show, I’m totally looking forward to this! I was thinking of taking my nephew to go see it, but considering this pandemic we’ve been under, I doubt my brother will let me. Hopefully theaters will reopen in my area in time for this movie. My Little Pony 2 - I am very sad to see G4 go away, but I am intrigued to see this transition into G5. Hotel Transylvania 4 - What Trey said. The Boss Baby: Family Business - This is undeniably a sequel that didn’t need to be made. Dreamworks can do better than this! Addams Family 2 - They canceled Spooky Jack in favor of this? A sequel to a not-so-good reboot of a classic franchise? And it hasn’t even been three years since its predecessor? Count me out! Encanto - I’m always excited to see new Disney animated movies come out. With this one, it’s plot sounds very similar to a lot of recent Disney films, which makes me wonder if they’re following some kind of trend. Regardless, I’m sure this flick will be harmless. Sing 2 - The first movie wasn’t bad, so this one probably will be fun too. I may not see it theatrically depending on what my situation is, but considering how much they’ve been pushing back the release date of this sequel, it probably seems fair that I make an attempt to support it. Now then, these are the Top 5 that I am most excited about: #5 - Encanto #4 - My Little Pony 2 #3 - Raya and the Last Dragon #2 - Paw Patrol: The Movie #1 - Luca

Well I looked for Connected on Wikipedia and it seems like there's still no official release date.
I wonder if this means Raya and the Last Dragon will be first.

Minions: The Rise of Gru - The Minions are not the reason I love the Despicable Me films. They didn’t need their own spin-off movie, let alone a sequel! I’d rather see Illumination make a third Secret Life of Pets movie. Well remember Belchic. When I complained before about how when the new Animaniacs was coming and they were dropping virtually everything save for the Warners and Pinky and the Brain, you told me this: To be fair, Trey, the Warners were the main sketch of the series. Though it is baffling that they and Pinky and the Brain are the only returning sketches. Maybe this means they’ll be bringing aboard a fresh new assortment of sketches. Ever think of that? It’s like out with the old, in with the new, but keep what worked best. Remember that the Minions are Illumination's mascots for a reason. People remember them best and that being that they are a French-originating studio, they provide the animation team with a potentially limitless assortment of ideas. There's a great supply of themes they can explore and be indicative of French ideologies and culture, not to mention you understand them even though they don't speak English because they communicate with actions and not words, so they'll also hold up well to boot. Compare that to what AniMat had to say about The Secret Life of Pets 2: "However, I won't say that everything from these plots is bad. There are some elements that deliver something unique that can make the experience somewhat enjoyable. The Snowball plot brings out the most energy with all the chase scenes and compared the other two gives the best excuse for the narrative to be in a movie along with an unexpected message about circus animal abuse, Gidget's plot has credit for having some of the best jokes of the film along with some good surprises, and Max's plot... well... it has Harrison Ford..."
