Apparently I missed the release but a week ago we got Spirit Untamed.
It's not getting the best reviews. Its RT score is at 43% and the critics consensus is:
While it might be a passable diversion for younger viewers, Spirit Untamed is a middling sequel that lacks the essential energy suggested by its title.
It's audience score is a lot higher though, probably because it's appealing to fans of the series that inspired it. That might be kind of a dividing factor though because it's more like an adaptation of the series than a sequel to the movie from 2002.
I'll probably pass on this because I have not seen anything related to this franchise.
Side note is we were supposed to get Vivo around this time too, but the Corona Virus pandemic delayed it.

With Spirit Untamed. I didn’t know until this past January that it was going to be based on the 2002 film. Apparently there was also a TV series going on, which apparently everyone knows about except me. So long story short, I feel like I’ve been living under a rock because I had no idea this franchise was still a thing.
As for Vivo, it was delayed due to the pandemic? I thought it was coming directly to Netflix. Well, either way, I don’t trust it considering Sony is making it. Also, is it “Vivo” or “Vivio”? I’ve seen it spelled both ways.

It does feel like it's late especially being that it came out during the pre-no more cel-animated movies from DreamWorks era. I know the series is active but that's the only thing keeping it somewhat relevant.
For Vivo, that movie does have some signs of hope being that Rich Moore is a producer. Plus Gloria Estefan is part of the voice cast so we will see how that goes.

Yes, but Spirit Untamed is actually CGI.
Also, Rich Moore??? Someone who’s known for working on Disney films like Zootopia has moved on to Sony???

Well, AniMatt didn’t seem to care much for Spirit: Untamed.
Story: 4/10 Animation: 6/10 Characters: 4/10
Overall: 5/10 = 47%
So here’s how he ranks the animated films of this year so far:
1. Raya and the Last Dragon - 90% 2. The Mitchells vs. the Machines - 83% 3. Spirit: Untamed - 47%

Yeah, Rich Moore left Disney for Sony Animation in 2019.

Yep, they got Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and now Rich Moore. Sony's going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Disney is trying to buy Sony actually. They just recently made a deal with them to have their films on Disney+ (primarily the Spider-Man films).

AniMatt’s scores for Wish Dragon:
Story: 4/10 Animation: 8/10 Characters: 6/10
Overall: 6/10 = 60%
So now, the ranking stands at…
1. Raya and the Last Dragon - 90% 2. The Mitchells vs. the Machines - 83% 3. Wish Dragon - 60% 4. Spirit: Untamed - 47%

I see a 6 as being "decent". So it may not rock the Academy Awards, but it's watchable.

AniMat just reviewed Luca:
Story: 7/10 Animation: 10/10 Characters: 9/10
Overall: 9/10 = 87%
So it just barely ranks under Raya and the Last Dragon for him now!
1. Raya and the Last Dragon - 90% 2. Luca - 87% 3. The Mitchells vs. the Machines - 83% 4. Wish Dragon - 60% 5. Spirit: Untamed - 47%

I think I'd rather see Raya and the Last Dragon take it.

Okay a few months ahead of schedule, we got The Boss Baby 2: Family Business.
Like the first movie, the reviews are generally mixed, with a 49% RT rating as opposed to the 53% the original movie has, with praise for the humor but criticism for the aimless plot.
Its Critic Consensus is:
It's more C-level than C-suite, but as a painless diversion for the kids, this Boss Baby manages some decent Family Business.
On the other hand, the audiences seem to like this a lot better.
I think I'm going to pass as I didn't even care for the first Boss Baby.
