So, we all know that 101 Dalmatians is a work of fiction, and in this forum, we do roleplays that take place in the 101D universe.
However, there’s something in some of the roleplays that have been becoming more of a problem when it comes to roleplaying as time goes on. That something is the mention of things in real life, such as titles of real movies, real shows, and real video games, as well as proper names of products and other things like that. It just doesn’t fit well in the universe that the roleplays here take place in.
Now, I’m sure that everyone has heard names and titles of things mentioned in the 101D franchise that are nods to things in real life, such as how Barkio, a character in a computer game created by Roger, is a nod to video game character Mario. So, I thought we should do something like that in roleplays here, as well as other places where we do roleplays. You know, come up with names that are nods to real life things and not use the actual names of said real life things? That’s why I came up with Tbot as a nod to Xbox and bab came up with The Fable Of Adela as a possible nod to The Legend Of Zelda.
Speaking of video games, Raine has been referencing real life video games in roleplays lately, such as The Legend Of Zelda, Banjo-Kazooie, and Donkey Kong Country. I understand that he loves video games and spends a lot of time on them, and that video games and 101 Dalmatians are the best references he can give; he told me all this when I asked him why he makes the characters he uses in roleplays reference video games in real life. However, I think he actually can do better than that. I think he can follow the examples that have been provided in this forum recently, and he should. I suggest that everyone else here follows said examples, as well.
So, are there any thoughts on this or any more suggestions from anyone?
