Hello Pups.
I notice we haven't really been doing much OC Discussion on here recently, and maybe this can also help pick up some activity too.
While most of us do have OC's, we also know that they don't live in a vacuum, or at least, most of them don't, so there are others whom they have connections to, and since most of our OC's are Fan Characters, why not have times where they do interact with the Canon Characters?
So, in this thread, we may discuss our OC'S relationships with Canon Characters in the "101 Dalmatians" Franchise.
Here we have examples I have for Clayton, albeit in the "101 Dalmatian Street" Continuity!
Deepak- Deepak is the first pup in the Dalmatian Family that Clayton made a connection with. Clayton initially felt overwhelmed by the sheer number and chaotic nature of the puppies, and so ducked into a crawl space to calm himself. It was there in which he found Deepak, in a peaceful state, and so was the first Pup he could properly have a conversation with.
The two connected over a number of things, such as their shared affinity towards cats, and sharing similar philosophies, morals and values. Deepak also made Clayton fully familiar with the "Wow Of Miaow", something he had only heard about in passing from his Aunts & Uncles at the Animal Shelter, but what Deepak told him strongly appealed to him. While he will occasionally meditate with Deepak, Clayton is more casual in his practice, compared to Deepak's more devout one.
Deepak's mentoring and management advice to Clayton allowed him to fully ease his way into the Dalmatian family, opening himself up more to others, but he always knows he can come to Deepak whenever things do get overwhelming for him again, or if ever he needs emotional guidance or even just someone to listen.
Dylan- Out of the Ol'er Pups, Clayton has a closer connection to Dylan than he does Dolly, with the two being able to bond over their shared nerdiness, such as Clayton's love for Comic Heroes, as well as always being open to joining in whenever Dylan plays "Poodlewolf!" Tabletop.
Clayton wants to be helpful about the House and be a good brother, like Dylan shows himself to be, and so he will often ask Dylan for advice on what it means to be a brother, or if there is anything he can do to help. However, Dylan is either too busy to fully give advice, or his tendency to micromanage has him taking over the task anyway, which in turn makes Clayton concern on his own competency or if he is genuinely trusted to do said task.
He does still look up to Dylan though, appreciating all he does about the house, and can often feel comfortable to be his absolute nerdiness with him.
Triple-D- Clayton first met Triple-D as they were showing off a new advert of theirs, which got Clayton really interested in their line of work. He initially opened up to them out of curiosity about Production Work and Behind-The-Scenes stories, but he soon warmed up to them, becoming one of the few members of the Household who is able to recognize them as individuals, rather than a collective, which is greatly appreciated by the three.
With Destiny, both of them care about things going on in the World and want to bring awareness to it. While Destiny has the camera face and influence, Clayton is able to keep her focused and her ego humbled, reminding her not to make charity events about herself.
With Dallas, she appreciates how complimentary Clayton can be, and sometimes comes to him to ask for his opinion on a style she is trying out.
With Deja Vu, Clayton allows her to embrace her more...Cloud Cuckoo Lander traits, while at the same time asking what She wants, independent of Dallas & Destiny.
Clayton is often willing to help Triple-D in any indie projects of theirs, sometimes as their camera dog, other times as their model for makeover tutorials, with the three themselves agreeing to be in any film projects of his own. While they can be demanding, Triple-D would be quickly willing to step in and defend Clayton if need be.
Hansel- Clayton first met Hansel during one of Dylan's "Poodlewolf!" sessions, and from the get go, Clayton really admired how committed Hansel was in his role playing.. After several sessions, Clayton spoke to Hansel about this and Hansel, recognizing Clayton's own theatrical traits (albeit more Musical Theater ones), recommended him to the Camden Animal Theatrical Society (or CATS), which the two now attend together.
The Two find themselves able to connect, not just through Poodlewolf, Role Play and Theatricals, but also through both being good with cats and creativity, with Clayton coming to Hansel for feedback on things he has written for his videos, or as someone to bounce ideas off of.
Although Clayton can feel that, at times, Hansel can get slightly snobbish on things he considers "Mainstream", he does find Hansel legitimately, kind, charming and enjoys his poetic passion, working along side him in both Poodlewolf and CATS to embrace that Theatrical side of himself.
Da Vinci- Clayton met Da Vinci when he witnessed her painting in the Garden, and was intrigued by what he saw on her canvas. He began to grow fond of how sensitive and honest she is, while also committed in staying true to that nature.
Clayton often comes to Da Vinci for help with Set Design, whenever he's making a video, which gives joy to Da Vinci as he has trust in her vision. Clayton has been working on how he gives feedback to her, though, making sure he can work to find common ground with her, so neither usurps the other's vision.
Clayton does admire Da Vinci's gentle nature and desire to speak the truth, and although he is slightly rocky on her graffiti work (it can often depends where she does it and the subject matter), he is willing to be there for her when she falls into anxiety.
Those are some I have for Clayton and the Street cast at this time.
I will write up his relationship with other Characters later, as well as the relationship my other OC's have with them.
How about you, what is the relationship between the Canon Characters and your OC's like!?
