I do not write reviews, per se, as I do not wish to contribute them to any websites; I also do not believe that anything I write would be worthy of being considered a review, as all I am doing is expressing my thoughts in the simplest form. With that said, I will be expressing my thoughts in this thread, though I will not be posting scores or rating the episodes in any form.
I realize that most people have never had the chance to watch this episode, since it was banned, but I honestly believe that it was one of the best episodes in the entire series. Its plot was somewhat cliché, as it has been done in various other animated programs over the years, but I believe that it was executed rather well. Much of the humor came from Spot’s actions in response to her presumed demise, and the way that the Dalmatians manipulated her feelings in order to get her to do the things that she was always too scared to do was very enjoyable.
I know that many people on this forum hate Spot, but I actually liked this episode more than usual because it showed how much the Dalmatians care about Spot. They may have put her in harms way by tricking her into facing her fears, but they genuinely wanted to help her and Spot was quite happy at the end of the episode.
Many people had assumed that this episode was banned after September 11th because its premise involved Spot thinking that she was going to die, but I believe that it was actually banned because Spot crashed an airplane into the windmill. There have been several other episodes that have mentioned death and they weren’t banned, so I believe that this is the most logical explanation.
All in all, I really enjoyed this episode and I’m glad that I finally had the chance to watch it.
