I got the idea to do this after seeing Stuart K. Reiley's list of the Top 10 Sources that Define YouTube Poop. I will say that he did hit the nail on the head with that list for the most part, there were still a lot more sources that he left off. If you want to see his original list here it is:
youtu.be/YGxcYj1M59II recommend you go watch that list before you read this because these are the NEXT Top 10 Sources That Define YouTube Poop:
#10 - Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3I put this one at the bottom of the list because nobody poops it anymore today, and not too many people did back in the day. Of the three Mario Dic cartoons, this one was probably pooped the least, I guess because it was the least memorable one. Still, it was just as popular. I mean, I see a lot of poops that use the episode where Mario and Luigi fight over Mario's record. Still, it's a shame a lot of poopers tend to choose "Super Mario World" and "Super Show" over this. The real show-stealers are the Koopalings, especially Kootie-Pie; she's the most exploitable one. The Koopalings did have their moments in "World", but this series was before Yoshi and Ooktar overshadowed them. Thus making the "Mario 3" cartoon worthy of the #10 spot on the list.
#9 - FrolloMuch like #10, Stu had this one as an honorable mention, and that's why it's so low on the list. Much like Gaston from "Beauty and the Beast", Frollo is a very exploitable character. The thing is, he's a villain from a Disney movie with good animation who we're supposed to take seriously, yet poopers everywhere have turned him into a mockery, saying ridiculous phrases and curse words, you name it! They especially love to poop his song, "Hellfire". I guess they're making fun of the lyrics and subject matter being so risky for a Disney film. But anyway, Frollo, just another villain who is fun to exploit.
#8 - Ed, Edd n EddyThis is a cartoon that a lot of people love to poop. I'm not really sure why. This is actually a good show with clever humor. It's hard to make fun of. Though I guess that's probably why they poop it; they want to challenge themselves. Also, the show's randomness and cheap animation make it a worthy source, plus there's a lot of episodes to work with. I think the most favorable quote is when Eddy says, "A d
ickie?!" Yeah, you can tell where this is going, can't ya? Still, there are plenty of poopers like MoBrosStudios and awfulfillafelfale who do a really good job pooping this show.
#7 - Volvic RevivalNow, I am aware Stu didn't put this on his list and joked about it, but it still deserves to be a well-known source. These are commercials for a bottled water product from...I don't know what country it's from; probably Australia, but don't quote me on that. They're just over-the-top commercials with a Tyrannosaurus named Alan, and a volcano named George. I can't even tell what kind of animation this is, but it is just ridiculous! These commercials were widely-used in the early days of YTP, and are still frequently-used from time to time, but these commercials will always be a staple of YouTube Poop.
#6 - Mario's HeadBack in the early days of PC, Nintendo made this crappy Mario computer game called "Mario Teaches Typing", but then, in the late 90's, they made a sequel. This sequel featured a fully-CG sprite of Mario's floating disembodied head spewing out random stuff and doing random stuff. Poopers have modified these clips to make Mario say and do just about anything. The funny thing is a lot of these poops aren't even called poops; they're just called Mario's Head videos, and that's pretty much the only source used for them. Some of these poops show clips from the actual game, but not very often. The strange thing is these poops that you see are like special vectors or something; if you do a search for actual gameplay of "Mario Teaches Typing 2", you'll see where Mario's head is really used. But still, Mario's head, it's just as random and funny as it is scary and creepy.
#5 - King of the HillOkay, I'm just going to say that I really don't like this show. It's boring, it's unfunny, and it's a little sickening. However, I had to put this on the list because there are a lot of poopers who love to use "King of the Hill" in their poops, and there are even some poopers who poop nothing but "King of the Hill", and those poopers tend to get a lot of subscribers and a lot of views. I was having a hard time deciding between this show and "The Critic", and while I do like that show better, especially with Maurice LaMarche doing those hilarious Orson Welles parodies, I think "King of the Hill" has left a slightly-bigger impact.
#4 - Billy MaysYep, if there is one commercial star who has left a huge impact on YTP, it's gotta be Billy Mays. This is a famous TV spokesman known for his super loud, energetic voice advertising many great "as-seen-on-TV" products, particularly Oxi-Clean. Sadly, this guy is no longer with us. The strange thing is, I never saw him pop up in poops back in the early days, but after his death in 2009, there was like an explosion of poops with this guy! It's like you can't go anywhere on YouTube without seeing a Billy Mays poop! I'm not sure if they're making fun of him or paying tribute to him, but either way, you can tell that Mr. Billy Mays has certainly left a legacy in many parts of the world, and YTP is no exception.
#3 - YouTube CelebritiesYes, there are some people who got their start on YouTube and have made such memorable videos, how could you ignore them if you're not a pooper? I'm talking about people like Chris Crocker begging us to leave Brittany Spears alone, Cherwood spewing out inappropriate words, the Angry German Kid smashing his computer to pieces, and of course, the infamous Tourette's Guy. Their videos are so legendary that so many poopers love to throw in single words from their videos. Could come in handy for sentence-mixing (the bad way). Some of you might say that I could include the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic in this mix, but they have their own legacies, and they don't even need to be popped, but I don't mind a little reference once in a while. I'm mainly talking about those main four. I know I'm kind of cheating, but it's nearly impossible to pick just one of them to put on this countdown.
#2 - My Little Pony: Friendship is MagicI know Stu is probably going to kill me for putting this one on this list, but how can I ignore it? I can't? This show has developed a major community known as the Bronies, who have made an endless amount of fan works, and with every episode being on YouTube, there's no question people will poop it. It truly is an exploitable show, and practically every main character on this show is exploitable in their own special way. Pinkie Pie is probably the easiest pony to exploit because of her randomness. Like a lot of popular sources, there are poopers who poop nothing but MLP, and poopers have managed to master every single style of poop imaginable into this source: flash, sentence-mixing, ear rape, fast-paced visuals, you name it! It's literally a candidate for the perfect pooping source! One thing that kind of bothers me is that not many poopers even bothered to touch any of the other Hasbro shows done by DHX Media. "Littlest Pet Shop" does have a couple of poops, which are actually pretty good, but "Pound Puppies" has none. That's a shame too, because those shows are just as exploitable as MLP. The problem with "Pound Puppies" is none of the episodes can be found on YouTube (which is probably why nobody is pooping it), not even short small clips, and even if you do manage to find those, they're usually in piss-poor quality. Not even the previous MLP Generations have gotten much attention from poopers! That's also a shame, because the G2 series is worth making fun of, though I know DoughBoy123X pulled off a really good poop of that show. Maybe someday those will become household names in the YTP world. I should probably make a list of Top 10 sources that SHOULD be used! But anyway, long story short, "Friendship is Magic" is a show that quickly became a phenomenon not just in YouTube Poop, but on the Internet period!
#1 - Team Fortress 2I had a good reason for putting this at the #1 spot. It's because it's just so gosh darn hilarious. It's been funny even before it was a source! It started off as a series of commercials on YouTube, followed by a video game (which those commercials were advertising), and it soon became a household name in the YTP World. "Team Fortress" belongs at the #1 spot on this list. Just like Robitnik, it's a source that literally poops itself!
That caps off this list. Belchic out.
