Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel was a big surprise for me by a lot of reasons, the movies is a direct sequel to the first CGI/Live Action movie in 2006, the movie tells the story about a Chipmunk trio that can sing, they are: Alvin, Simon and Theodore they have their adopted father Dave Seville. The movie is FAR WAY better thant the first one, the CGI is simple amazing and the jokes are everywhere, they are simple to a fart joke to Taxi Driver references. There is no doubt that it's a kid movie, but you can find it enterinement all the time if you like simple humor like the Three Strooges or Simpsons, if you are more like Monthy Python fan, I recomend you to not see the movie The story is basic, simple and of course: generic, this is was the biggest dissapointement of the movie, the story is simple but could had more deepness in some points like Tobby's Relaationship with his new gf and Simon. Music is great, there isn't any Chipmunks&Chippetes original music, but there is a lot of playback as Halo, Got a Feeling and We're a Family, their music is greaaat and very well singed in their chipmunks voices ;D ;D ;D Overall it's a great choice, go to the cinema and yell ALVIINNNNN and have some fun

That's all Hollywood seems to be doing nowadays. They resurrect an old franchise and make a new movie off of it, then they make a sequel, and the sequel is better than the original. They're all the same. Nothing special about that.

I did see the movie and...
I loved it! I honestly liked it better than the first movie. Maybe it was just the better story and not just a simple "family over toys" theme. Maybe there was better humor. Or, maybe just the addition of the Chippettes.
Hell, maybe it's all three!
Side note: the first movie and Transformers (2007) I saw theatrically once. Their sequels I saw twice!

I loved this movie. I wouldn't say it's better then the first one though. I loved both of them. So I'd pretty much say they're about even. When Alvin broke that Television with the Wii Remote I was howling with laughter. And I loved Toby. He seemed like a really cool guy. You know what my major problem with this movie is? The one and only thing I didn't like is how they seemed to rush this movie. It seemed to short when they could have added more to the story.

Are McDonald's Happy Meals giving out toys on this movie right now? Or did they recently?

They might have them for one more week. Otherwise they just stopped. I bought all the Chipmunks and the Chipettes. They're really cool!

Yeah, they've had those toys at McDonalds, seen 'em myself, well, the adds and them being shown and what not.
As for the movie itself, I saw it and I rather liked it myself, it was a real nice family movie indeed. I thought The Chipettes were awesome indeed ^^
