I heard about the new Mortal Kombat myself; and some things about it like:
1. It will be the third movie in the existing film franchise, acknowledging the 1995 movie and the 1997 sequel Mortal Kombat: Annilihation.
2. It will be a proper sequel to the 1995 movie and act like Mortal Kombat: Annilihation was either "all a dream" or just plain didn't happen.
3. It will be a complete relaunch of the movie franchise and start over, just like how Street Fighter: the Legend of Chun-Li had nothing to do with Street Fighter (1994).

Oh lord, I was watching, Television this Morning, and I saw an Advert for “Turtle Tale”. Now, I know you’re going to say “Turtle Tale? Sounds VERY Familiar to, Shark Tale...” it gets worse. >.<
The story is, about Underwater creatures and someone very close to our Protagonist gets captured by plausible Humans and he goes across the Ocean to find them...
Hmmm...Now where have I heard that plot Be- FINDING NEMO!!!
There is no difference, the plot is literally, Finding Nemo! Right down to, Turtles, Whales & Birds that help!
I feel insulted as a Movie Goer at this, as the Studio think that I am dumb enough not to notice to connection! >.<
Does anyone know who’s making this Film? Dreamworks? Sony?
Still, What are your views on this, Pups? *Hugs* X3

As for me, besides being incredibly psyched for Winnie the Pooh (<3 I can't wait for it, I started crying when I saw the trailer), I'm also kind of excited for two other movies. They might be rumors, but they're actually schedueled for 2011 so I'm still kind of on my toes for them.
The first is the CGI live-action film based on the "Warrior Cats" series by Erin Hunter. I've heard about it back since about 2008, but there haven't been too many updates about it besides confirmations from the 3 authors of the series.
The second is the live-action "Cowboy Bebop" movie. Oh my God, am I excited for this one. One of my favorite anime series of all time gone live-action? Yes please. Oh yes PLEASE. <3

I'm pretty sure that's a rumor, because I've heard it for several years to. But if they DO make it a movie, it'll definitely be interesting and I might go on my own to it. Though right now, I actually saw 2 film previews that perked my interest. The Live action/CGI Hop, and the live action movie Sucker Punch.

I just got to see Rango yesterday. Not gonna give anything away, but...
h-holy sh*t
it was amazing
It wasn't like one of those kiddie movies, either. The storyline to it was particularly deep, there was a lot of cursing (particularly the use of the words hell and d**n), and the animation was stunning. Like, it was pure eye-candy, some parts were almost at Secret of NIMH level in detail and beauty. I loved it a lot.
The best part about the story in it though was that it didn't drag on. It was much like a sort of mystery, and usually with those, they wait forever to reveal the ending. In this, they took the right amount of time to build up suspense and let you guess, and then the revelation was made and the plot twist came.
In short, it was spectacular. It totally deserves the 89% it's got right now on Rotten Tomatoes.

Thanks, Paws. I think I might go see it now. I was actually thinking of going to see it at first, until I found out it was a Nickelodeon movie. But now that I'm hearing that it's Secret of NIMH standards, then it sounds like my kind of movie. Thanks for talking me into it, Paws!

You're welcome~! And it's not just Nickelodeon, and it shows- the plot was actually very serious and some parts were incredibly dark. I think you'll enjoy it if you go to see it it really was good.

We have a lot of contenders for the Animated Film of 2011. Right now I'll give my guesses for which of these animated films will be nominated.
Probably will be nominated:
Kung Fu Panda 2 (DreamWorks) Rango (Nickelodeon) Rio (Sony/Blue Sky)
For the winner, I think it will either be Kung Fu Panda 2 or Rango. I haven't seen Rango but it was getting some strong reviews. Kung Fu Panda 2 I liked better than the original. Rio I thought was a good one but I think it will be nominated but not win.
The rest:
Gnomeo and Juliet: Critics seem to agree this was a dud on pretty much all levels.
Mars Needs Moms: This movie deserved to fail financially, and critically it wasn't that much better.
Winnie the Pooh: Got some good reviews, but still it's Winnie the Pooh--the theme's still a bit too young.
Cars 2: The film that broke Pixar's streak.
Happy Feet 2: The first movie wasn't that great, don't know just yet.
Puss in Boots: Too early to tell, but Shrek the Third and Shrek Forever After didn't even get nominated.
Arthur Christmas: Too early to tell.

You mean Film Companies owned by Viacom (DW is owned by them, right?) are most likely going to win? Why am I not surprised with that in the Annies? ^^;
I admit, I havn't seen any of the Films on the list, so I am not sure if to agree on the list, although I would agree, G&J and MNM would be a dud (MNM knocked Zemekis CGI thing out. =s)
I think they'll try not to make it seemed rigged this year, so I expect at least one Disney Film to win something.
What do you think, Pups? *Hugs* X3

Another Happy Feet? *facepalm*
As for who wins, I'd really like Rango to win, I saw it and it was great!

You have a good point there, Trey. Disney has already released two animated movies this year, and neither one of them was spectacular. Of course, none of the other animated films, aside from the three you mentioned, got much good reviews, mainly "Gnomeo and Juliet" and "Mars Needs Moms" (the latter was actually Disney too). Of the ones you listed, I would say that Rio is probably the most likely to win, and if it does, this will be the first time that Blue Sky will win for Best Animated Film. However, in terms of the Annies, I would say that one of the other two would win, seeing that Dreamworks and Nickelodeon are the "Gold Sponsors" for the Annies, and they always will be no matter what!
