So the Cruella movie is a go? I know the Maleficent movie is for real, as I've seen trailers for it.

Yeah, I believe that 'Cruella' film is official.
Although, I notice Disney seems to be doing remakes of their popular 'Animated' classics.

Malificent is doing Sleeping Beauty (why her skin is normal colour, I do not know), Cinderella (Helena Boham Carter is the Fairy Godmother) and also 'Cruella'.

Although, will they stick to Cruella being the villain? It be a bit hard to make a woman who wants to make her wardrobe out of Dalmatian Puppies to be sympathetic.
Will we see her School Days with Anita? Will it be based more on "Animated", "Live Action" or "Novel"?

What you Pups think the story will be like?

Possibly backstory as to why she loved fur so much, her relationship with Anita, and what inspired her to wear Dalmatian skin.

Have any idea who's going to play Cruella?

I don't think Cruella has been cast yet.

I do know they got the Writer to; Devil Wears Prada and the upcoming Annie and Cinderella Film to pen it.
I hear Glenn Close may be a creative consultant to the film too.

Having recently seen the Malificent film, I am getting a bit awkward at how a Cruella film may handle.

As stated earliar in the thread, it would be pretty hard to turn a Woman who wants to skin Puppies and wear them as a Coat into a sympathetic or heroic character, without massive character derailments.
Malificent sort of made almost every heroic charcter from the Animated Sleeping Beauty irredeemable, like what they did with the Three Fairies.
I really hope they don't make it so Roger's some kind of wife beater or something.

What I feel is, the reason we love a villain in the first place is because we love to hate them, making them a hero (and turning heroes into villains) sort of takes a bit of that vibe from it.

Here's hoping if a Cruella film is made, they keep her the villain, eh?
Maybe take a note from Wicked's Book, don't change huge factors of the original story or characters, but show stuff that we may have happened in between that might make them a bit more sympathetic.

Although, I heard somewhere that if a Cruella Film isn't made, a Television Series (sort of like 'Once Upon A Time') may be. Ever heard of that?

I haven't seen Malificent but from what I've read it cut out a lot about what made her iconic (making her minion the one who turns into a dragon being the biggest offender, that's the only reasons people went to the movie and it doesn't happen) and went out of its way to make her "the hero" complete with all the former good guys being incompetent so she her winning at the end. Maybe for her that's what some people wanted but who hear would actually pay money to see Cruella pull it off, murder all the puppies, and get her coat? I'd rather see Liam Neeson put a .44 slug right between her eyes and leave her dead in the snow, she's the bad guy. We're supposed to hate her and everything she stands for, and that's a lot easier today than it was in 1961 because cultural norms put fur forever out of fashion in the 1980s and smoking became a huge taboo in virtually everything.

I don't really want to watch a movie about a sympathetic Cruella. I want a Cruella who's pure devil on Earth evil and gets it in the end...preferably with a b**chin' car chase for the finale with that flaming Panther Deville going out in a roaring, metal crunching ball of flame.

Malificent did seem like if someone wrote a "Draco In Leather Pants" style Fanfic and then made a film about it.
All the trailers even play up that Malificent is a villain, instead of some kind of Elf Queen whose a friend to all creatures!
Imagine how it may be if they do what they do in Malificent; Eleanor Sa Int!

Agreed Race, the reason we love Cruella so much is because she is such a fantastic villain.
And we love to hate villains.

I heard Glenn Close is a creative consultant for the Cruella Film thing, and since she is universally accepted as the best portrayal of Cruella, I am willing to believe she gets the character and will make sure she stays...you know...The Villain?

They could probably do what they do with the Devil in the South Park movie for Hades.

I think the Cruella one is either going to be a film or I hear from other sources that it might be done as a "Once Upon A Time" style show.
Perhaps, if it's a show, Cruella would be the main antagonists.

I also heard somewhere Disney are doing this thing called; Descendants or something which would feature Beauty & The Beast's son and Cruella's daughter.

Descendants is a real movie but its a Disney Channel Original Movie scheduled to air next year. Cruella will receive a race lift and be played by African-American actress Wendy Raquel Robinson with Cameron Boyce (from Disney's show Jessie) playing her son Carlos.

Given there's no role for Cruella's husband I'll assume she bit his head off like a praying mantis after they had relations.

Wait, if Cruella has a Son, could that mean there'll be hints of Mr. Devil from the 'Original Novel'?
The Race Lift seems intriguing too. Here's hoping Wendy Raquel Robinson can play her good.

Cameron Boyce? He's the current voice for Jake in Neverland Pirates, isn't he?
