Wasn't Harley Quinn a bit of a Darkhorse as well? She started as just another henchmen for the Joker, before she became Extremely Popular! o.o Isn't that right, Trey? Still, This seems an Interesting thread! ;3 I'll see what I can do on finding some Darkhorse Soon, okay, Belchic? X3 I think that is true bab. She was introduced in Batman: the Animated Series back in 1992 but because she was such a popular character they immigrated her into becoming a recurring villain. That would be why she would have a starring role in Suicide Squad. Based on what I was reading, this would be appropriate: ZootopiaWith the popularity of the movie, the Chinese took a liking to Nick Wilde and there was a big desire to start adopting foxes as pets. However, it was just not feasible as the only real option is the Soviet Domesticated Red Fox, and demand easily outweighed supply. However, when it was discovered that one could do so with Fennec Foxes, and being that Nick's buddy Finnick is one they started wanting Fennec Foxes as pets. It even extended into other media as Finnick is a playable character in the Disney Heroes app game. Another easy pick is Flash the Sloth.

On the factor about Harley, there...
Marvel Cinematic Universe
While the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a large number of Break Out Characters, one that comes to mind is S. H. I. E. L. D. Agent; Phil Coulson! He originally appeared in the first Iron Man Film, as a Film Original Character, before making other appearances in Iron Man II, Thor and then Avengers, where he is apparently shown to be stabbed by Loki.
Despite this, Coulson was so popular, not only was he revived and brought back, becoming the lead in the Agents Of S. H. I. E. L. D. Television Show, but a younger version of him also makes an appearance in the Captain Marvel Film, and, like Harley Quinn, Coulson became an actual Character in the Marvel Comics Line!
Like I post, the Marvel Cinematic Universe does have a lot to name when it comes to Dark Horse Characters.
You able to name some more Dark Horse Characters, Pups!?

If any character in that movie deserves to be a dark horse, it’s Gazelle! Seriously, she is such a hottie! 😁

*dusts off this old topic*
I felt like bringing this up because a certain character came to mind recently who could fall under the ensemble dark horse category:
From Mickey Mouse’s crew, Clarabelle Cow seems to have become a bit of a cult favorite lately. Usually, in a lot of the shorts and TV series’ that center around Mickey and the gang, Clarabelle isn’t used as often as the other main six (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto).
I wanted to see if Clarabelle was listed anywhere on the TV Tropes Ensemble Dark Horse page, but I don’t know what to classify her universe under (in terms of title or by source of media).
