Getting a job is nearly impossible these days, Nemo. I've applied at nearly 100 different places when I got laid off from my other job until finally finding this temporary place, and I really don't want to be unemployed again.

100, really?! Jeez.. a kid my mom knows (since the moms are friends) sent out resumes/apps to 100 places as well, but only got 2 interviews! Just more proof finding work is hard.
Small but to me fairly significant life update. I sent another job app online. This time to Meijer as a Bagger/Utility worker. I guess it's slowly getting easier... but I'm a bit nervous to send the graphic design resumes for some reason :C

Why you nervous on sending your Graphic Design? I seen your Art and Work, It's VERY good! =3 Not sure if we have Meijer in the UK, Mind if I ask, what is it?

Meijer's america only to my knowledge, it's basically a grocery store

Meijer is a Midwest United States-only chain of general purpose stores (they sell everything but specialize in groceries more than Wal-Mart or Kmart). Most of their stores are in Michigan (where they were founded) and Ohio. It's one of my favorite places to shop but I rarely go there now since there aren't any in the Upper Peninsula after my move (nearest ones are an hour away now), I miss them greatly.

Well, at least it's a well liked store.
I'm sure you'll get something. You have my faith. ;3
How long does one need to wait, to hear back from a Job Application?

That 100 thing was just an exaggeration, Nemo.
You applied for a bagger at a grocery store? That was my first job, so I know what that's like.

How long does one need to wait, to hear back from a Job Application? That's a really.. not so good question to ask x.x; It can vary greatly from a couple days.. to months... etc.

Oh hello everyone =w= just wanted to post some kind of personal update thingy.
I just got home from a job interview at Spherion (job agency) that went pretty well, I felt like I was in school again since I had to fill out a packet of basic math problems, ruler, and image matching (pretty sure I got most of them right XD). Sadly I couldn't get anything, since they don't have any part time jobs and since I don't have any full time experience they didn't want to 'set me up for failure' so I appreciate that concern. Just gonna keep applying to places! Though.. running out of places TO apply to since I'm in middle of nowhere Ohio x.x
As of now this makes 17 places applied to.. only 2 where I got call backs and had an in person interview >x>
*Cough* this is why I haven't been posting/doing much here.. sorry everyone!

Oh Dear, It's understandable how hard it can be to find an occupation, when (as you say) you live in the middle of nowhere. ^^"
Hm, Are there any places which apply to your best abilities? Like, any places requiring Art or something along those lines?
Still, I hope you are able to find something, Nemo. ;3 I say you got great potential. How many other places are there to look up?

Okay I'm noooot sure where to post this important RL announcement.. so I'll settle for my thread here. But this news is VERY important!!
I got some really good news yesterday. After applying for jobs locally for almost a year after college graduation I got a call back from one of the places I applied to and did an interview with (School Specialty, it's a warehouse gig.)
And.. I GOT THE JOB!! I'm working 1st shift: 8am - 4pm on Mon-Fri and I start on the 25th! It's only a seasonal job but I'm very excited and anxious to start. First thing though I have to wait for an email with 2 links (to complete the rest of my app and a tax survey) then get a drug test before the 20th (which I'll be getting this monday.)
So what does this mean.... um.. well.. my activity here will likely be the same as it is currently (very little) but there is a sliiiiim chance it could go to non-existant ^^; since I really wanna focus on this awesome opportunity and make money ;w; <3

And I take it nobody saw??? oco;
TDLR: I got a seasonal job that starts on the 24th so my activity here COULD cease until the job is over (either Aug or Oct.. not sure).

WOOT! I am so proud for you, Nemo! =3 It's good to hear you're able to find a job, you have been looking for such a long time. ^^"
If this Job is Warehouse or something, does that mean you'll be lugging boxes or something along those lines? Still, This is a good opportunity for you. =3
How much you making in it?
