Yeah! And considering the Boxes, that means you'll be carrying during all that walking too! D= Unless they have a Forklift.
I agree, it is a good opportunity and a good start for work, isn't it? ;3

Okay my life so um... I'm working now! Full time! At a warehouse. 40 hour weeks (8/day for 5 days), with overtime it can go up to 50.. even more during peak season ( D: ) my daily hours tend to vary.. 8, 9, 10.. I think it'll go up to 12 during peak season, oh boy.
Basically all I'm doing is standing at my station. Taking items or packages off of a conveyor belt. Then packaging the item(s) if it's not in a box, putting shipping labels on the box, taping the box up, then EITHER putting the box on the other conveyorbelt that goes into a truck or on a pallet to be taken away by a forklift to another part of the warehouse. And sometimes it's hard finding a box that your item will fit in x.x
It doesn't sound like too much but it's VERY physically demanding! Like sometimes according to the packaging labels I'm lifting 50lbs o.o and also cardboard can be very painful! As I learned yesterday.. so many cuts on my hands and wrists. Oh and gotta love bruises when the boxes fall off the conveyorbelt and onto your legs and or feet x.x Also there is only 1 lunch break (20mins) and 1 regular break (10 mins) so.. not much time to really 're-energize' and such so my feet are aching and screaming in pain from standing/walking so much by the time I get home. Plus I'm also very hungry and tired since food isn't allowed on the workfloor. When I get home I just wanna lay down and snooze cause I'm so tired from my long/painful work day. Not exactly thinking about checking the net right away cause I'm pooped out, and mornings I don't have time to check right away since I have to hurry up and eat then go ^^;
So yeah this is for anybody really who was wondering what my job was like uwu

Eight to Ten Hours and only Thirty Minute Break!? That is a really long time to stand for! Isn’t that like a Punishment in some Army Corps!?
I wouldn’t doubt getting cuts and that on your hands, what with handling stuff like that all day. Although, Considered wearing gloves, if that helps cut down on…cuts? But yeah, When something falls on you, that can really smart! Especially when you say some weigh up to Fifty Pounds! That’s like if a child jumped on you, isn’t it?
It’s understand how you would be exhausted, Nemo. *Hugs* I hope things get easier for you in this. Sounds like a tough job, doesn’t it?

Well, that just sounds right crappy. I think you may have actually found an employer even worse than mine. At least mine had the decency to give me a 10 minute break every 2 hours and a full 30 minutes for lunch. If yours starts pulling the overtime BS like mine did... Be glad it is only seasonal. That way you can get out of that crappy job without actually quitting or being fired. If you do a good job there then that should look pretty good for the next employer. Although let's hope they don't kill you with the overtime like mine did. But hey, think of how much more physically fit you will be when it is over! And you'll be able to take a box to the foot and it will just bounce like bullets off Superman! =P
So what exactly are you packaging? Garden supplies or something?

@bab: yeah only 30 mins D: though when we have 10hr days we get ONE extra 10min break.. 10 minutes x.x And yes since the day after I been wearing gloves and now I don't get cut up.. except my wrists sometimes since the gloves aren't that long. And more.. today when I checked a box label I lifted 68lbs o.o which I do believe is child weight.. according to this site on google up to an average 8yr old!
@general: Well the overtime here is mandatory.. is that the BS you were talking about? d**n your place is better ;^; and LOL that superman comparison <333 and I'm packaging school supplies.. it's a school supply warehouse. Things like paper, those black/white journals, crayons (BIG ass boxes), and so many other... 'interesting' things. Like a couple times I've found dragon plush toys you dress up o3o

Oh wow hey guys. I'm sorry I don't really talk to y'all or post much here outside of the occassional rp ;^; work has been keeping me REALLY busy as of late, especially since they had been drilling us to the core with overtime. One week had 18 hours of it! And it's always been 6 days a week. And uh.. complete honesty, Sparky's isn't really a priority site for me to check like it used to be ^^; (those are dA and IB.. though IB may be the top site since I'm getting a rep over there >w<) oh and I'm basically on the net at most for 2hrs a day now.
But the 6 day weeks SHOULD be changing next week.. since we're switching to a new shift pattern of "3 day week, 4 day week, repeat pattern" sort of deal. But why I said "SHOULD" is because a few weeks into working, when we had to do 10hr days.. I found my body was hardly able to keep up with it. And since my epileptic seizures were caused from physical stress I didn't want that to happen on the job sooo I had my doctor write me a note saying I can't do more than 10hrs a day. But the PROBLEM is because of that I'll be doing fewer hours than everyone else (no more than 6 though) so I'm just paranoid they're gonna give me more days to try and 'make up' for my restriction ;^;

Ooh, At least Three or Four Days a week is less stressful than Six Days, Especially if every day is ovr Ten Hours! I can understand why it may get heptic too. Summer's on the way and things are bound to get insane when it comes to shipping products (you handle school products, correct?)
Although, If you have a Doctors Note, I am sure your employers will understand. I assume Physical Stress isn't like plugging your IPod into the Wall and it's 100% within an hour or so; it needs time to relax a bit and ease the physical strain, doesn't it?

Yep school supplies.. though I question how some of the things we get are school supplies |D like today I had to repackage an order that was apparently.. a bag of random colored GLASS SHARDS x.x cut myself but it wasn't severe. About my employer I'm just more paranoid about that bit if anything, cause I gave them the note over 2 weeks ago and I just find it weird they haven't figured out my schedule yet?? :V And it's not at all like it. I can't strain or overwork myself, I have to work a bit slower than everyone else.

Ok I was talking on IM with a close friend. Because I've been applying to new places (since I'm leaving my warehouse job). And the Graphic Design place I applied to called me back and want to interview me! ;v; So I told my friend this on IM, what does she say?
Her: "Can you not tell me news about a job knowing I'm still unemployed, thank you" Me: um.. ok ;; Her: *told you this before remmeber, not to mention jobs and pay*
Uh wow **** you to close friend 8| and yeah my memory is really poor so I don't remember stuff from like weeks/months/beyond.. so.. and I went to college for GD so I thought it'd be cool but nope guess not.

iiiiiiiiiit's explantion time! Since the 23rd my laptop battery has been saying "replace soon" so yeah decided and planned with my mom we'd go today to the apple store in Polaris to get it fixed since we have applecare it won't cost us anything. Then YESTERDAY after I cleaned my keyboard my X key started sticking, literally would type x's all the time w/o me typing it. Okay so then we left today really early at 9 to beat the traffic and got there at like 11. As soon as we go into the store and ask for help weeeeell.. we have to schedule an appointment apparently, did that, appointment isn't until 2. So we walked around a little, then sat at barnes and noble leeching free wifi, then we ate at The Cheesecake Factory and omg the margherita pizza was amazing and so was my Smores Cheesecake ahhhhhhhh <3 Then when it was time we went back to the store, gave him my laptop and info, then were told to come back 2hrs later. When it was close to 4 I decided to walk around on my own cause I had seen a little girl leave a store with a mickey/minnie printed shopping bag so I thought "huh.. I thought they didn't have a Disney store here." Since I hadn't been to this place in a long time. Then I went to the directory and HOLYCRAP there it was listed upstairs. So I went and.. it was small but nice store. Ended up buying a cute Mickey shirt cause I really need some cute clothes mickeyfix.com/i-heart-mickey-mouse-striped-tee/ aaaaand I found somebody who's been lost since 2003 sta.sh/014cgbcsg5b6 XD Went back to the store at 4 as instructed, told it'd take another half hour so okay we went and sat down outside. Time is up we go back in and get my laptop and all is well uwu <3

Ooh, I have small issues with the X on my keyboard too. Mine is the opposite though, it gets stuck and doesn't register me typing it. Good that your battery is fixed too. We don't have Cheesecake Factory, in the UK. Went to the one in Chacago, that was good, but Hawaiian one seemed a bit salty. How long did you need to wait for a table? Woot! You got a Disney Store! Ah, the puns with the name of the fish! Guess it makes sense with Finding Dory coming soon. Although, the question is, will Fish Nemo still be young or an older fish?

Kinda surprised I forgot to update this, but I have a pretty important announcement to make. So.. here goes *clears throat*.
After almost 10 months of being unemployed.. I'm finally re-entering the work force. The job? I'm now a Digital Retouch Associate (basically touching up peoples' photos in Photostop) for a Portrait Studio about 20 minutes away from home. You guys have no idea how happy I am right now. If my dad hadn't slipped a paper advertising the job fair I went to last week in my room, I wouldn't be able to say this right now.
Last night I had to fill out about 5-6 forms regarding taxes, and day before that had to get my Drug Test. They told me after my "interview" on the 21st (which was more like "explaining your position then at the end asking if you want the job") that after I filled the forms they would contact me about when I'll start. So now I'm just waiting on that call, so excited!! My hours are 7-3, overtime is from what I was told pretty rare and it would take place in the morning if I were to get any.
Lastly before anyone asks, I will not be discussing the financial part of this job. So please don't ask about anything money related since it's really nobody's business but my own, thank you! <3

I remember hearing on this! I am so happy that you have some work, Nemo! <3
I remember hearing on the Medical case, but I see that's good too! And, the Work sounds good too, with some touch up and that.
Is that like, how you may work, if an Image has Scarlett Eye or something on them, or something like that?
So happy on the work case, Nemo! <3 Sounds like pretty good hours too. Seems reasonable too, compare to standing for more than Ten Hours, Eh? ;3
