Personally I don't get into the spirit of the season until the very last days before Christmas. It doesn't hold any spiritual significance to me as neither I, nor my family are religious. Tradition, however, is somewhat significant to people in my country and I think the most important thing about christmas for most of us means doing exactly what we've been doing every year prior.
To me that means going to the "bygd" (very rural areas) where my grandmother lives, eating traditional christmas food and see family. I'm really looking forward to that cause that's what christmas is to me. Despite my grandmother being very healthy for her age, I know she wont live forever. Wonder what my traditions will be when she is gone.
Fun fact; The holiday Christmas is called "Jul" in my country deriving from "Yule", the name of the old germanic holiday celebrated between "22nd - 25th" of december to celebrate the return of the sun from the long dark winters. It's still being celebrated as a Christian holiday.

Indeed, if you don't find Christmas important bcuz of religious beliefs, then find it important, bcuz it's tradition. Also, it's a special time to spend with family. Only negative thing about it, that I see, is how companies are able to use the holiday as a 'reason' for folks to buy their products.

Most of the time I think of Christmas as the only time of the year when good music is played. (I just don't like 21st century non-film music). Although its dumb how ads use Christmas songs and the concept itself just to sell their useless products. Heck about the only time that is just as full of ads is Super Bowl time, (early February for Americans that is).

Hm... for me Christmas doesn't mean much since neither religion or tradition are important to me. Culture is important for me but for something as big, multicultural, and commercialized as Christmas I was never too interested.
I actually find the less hyped holidays to be more interesting than Christmas because they actually maintain connection to their roots. Easter is still primarily a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, Thanksgiving still a day of thanks remembered for its history, even if it is usually inaccurate, but it seems the meaning of Christmas has been lost in "Caring, giving, cheer and Family togetherness." The problem might also be from all the hype. My mom has been recording Christmas specials since November first. And while Halloween also has nothing to do with its origins it's still more fun for the variety of decorations and costumes and well Christmas is not me favourite holiday.

I am really looking forward to Christmas this year! =3
We got our Tree yesterday, although I am not yet sure when we're decorating it.
My Vacation has helped put me in the Holiday Mood, so maybe I should spend this month watching a whole bunch of Christmas Films, should I? =3

Let's just say now's a good time to start decorating. And now that I'm well, I'm in the Holiday mood and want to begin decorating.
And, Christmas is about familiy so we won't forget all the children whose lives were all lost on December 14th, 2012.

I don't know why, but I keep thinking this Christmas is going to be a miserable one for me this year.

Oh yeah, here's another thing Christmas means to me. A decent/perfect time to get least a bit religious, imo, (heck I tend to play more religious Christmas songs on the piano then regular ones.) Oh and it bears the BEST of stories and specials such as d**kens' Christmas Carol or O. Henry's Gift of the Magi, and who could forget the Grinch or Home Alone, (and so on and so on). In short, best time of the f*cking year, even above summer vacation because you mainly have no reason to be dismal, bored, or morose...like Ebenezer WAS. I love summer bcuz of no school but at times, there's practically nothin to do and several times have I had to read during summer. But Christmas. Oh, simply love it. If not for the presents and such then for the sheer music and fun that comes with it in ALL sorts of forms. Despite the greedy manipulation of this lovely time, Christmas is simply the BEST holiday ever!!!!! <3

Well, My Family is setting up the Christmas Lights today. Some of the Exterior Lights are up and we've dusted the Lounge for the Christmas Tree, which we shall decorate tommorrow.
Who else has got their tree up then? =3

I'm not really religious so Christmas doesn't have spiritual meaning.
But I just love the holiday.. not only because it means my birthday is close. But because I love the scenery/weather, the decorations, togetherness with family, the traditions... it's just so beautiful to me. That last night I just walked around my neighborhood looking at peoples' lights.
