Yeah I was surprised myself. But that Foodfight one... yikes! Anyway, we just got the 56th entry in the Disney Animated Film Catalog, Moana. And? Well, it DOES look good. Right now on Rotten Tomatoes it's score is 97%. It's only 1% below Zootopia. So, I know what I'm seeing this weekend.

I just went and saw Moana. It wasn't too amazing in my opinion. The story didn't seem to fit together, the characters were hit and miss, but the songs were catchy, and the animation was breathtaking.
There was also a short at the beginning, which made me feel extremely uneasy!

So AniMatt has given Moana his Seal of Approval, and as of right now, it currently ranks as his pick for the #3 best animated film of the year.
I saw all his reviews and calculated all his scores, and this is how AniMatt currently ranks them from best to worst:
1. Zootopia 2. Kubo and the Two Strings 3. Moana 4. Finding Dory 5. Kung Fu Panda 3 6. Sausage Party 7. Storks 8. The Secret Life of Pets 9. The Little Prince 10. The Angry Birds Movie 11. Trolls 12. Ratchet & Clank 13. The Wild Life 14. Ice Age: Collision Course 15. Norm of the North
So the only film we've got left is Sing. Not sure how well of a reaction it'll get from audiences, but I think it looks like a fun movie. Something tells me AniMatt is going to like it better than Pets.

I did see Moana too.
I thought? It was definitely a good movie and I would recommend it. It's biggest problems are the fact that because it came in the same year as Zootopia I have to choose which one was better than the other, and the fact that after Zootopia it seemed much more conventional by contrast. I give it an A-.
Now that Sing is all that's left... I don't know about that one. It looks like it wants to be this year's The Muppets (2011) but instead will probably be more like Space Jam.

Hmm. I thought Pets had a score in the high 60's last time I checked. Has it improved?
Though if I remember, SLP had a very strong opening weekend, but nowadays, critics aren't liking it so much.
I have a feeling might end up being a slip up for Illumination like Hop.

My mom and a family friend are interested in Sing, probably because of the songs or something or maybe the characters, idk.
I've got nothing against it but the trailers made me feel like the actors wouldn't be singing at all, which comes off as lazy, and most of the songs used are not really ones I'm interested in either. And obviously with some of the characters, it's pretty predictable what is gonna happen especially since the trailer SPELLS it out for you.
Oh this one guy's father is disappointed in him but the father learns to accept his son for who he is; which is NOT a convict. Oh this one girl has stage fright but overcomes it just in time. *insert Character trope here*
Oh as for who I think will "win", either none of them will win or all of them will "win". Really the only one that truly will is Buster Moon, (the koala), since his theater will be getting primetime attention once more.

Well, I went to see Sing and it was alright.
A few nitpicks here and there, (like most of the song selections imo, and perhaps the fact they didn't exactly conclude the mouse's story), but it was decent.
I was expecting to like Ash's performance in the end but I think I ended up enjoying Johnny's the most. I like Ash as a character but Johnny's performance was the best; he got really into the music.
I wouldn't mind seeing a second one like this but we'll see.

As Animat basically put it, if you enjoy theatre, this film is... Your Song.

I did see a Trailr, for Sing, when I was wtching Moana.
Some thing tells me, that the Trailr shows evry thing that happens in the Film. Like what happens, with the one who is part of a Crme Family? Father is angr about what the Character is doing, they see them perform and shiw that they are prou of them. They do show that, in the Trailr. Is that the case, Pups?
Doesn' Seth Macfarlne Voice the Mouse, Lupus?

I'm seeing a lot of people upload videos giving their feedback on the animated films of the past year. "The Secret Life of Pets" as I seem to remember did extremely well on its opening weekend and gained a cult following, but lately, I'm hearing a lot of critics say it's not very good. Still, they are saying it's not a horrible film. I mean, let's face it, there were much worse animated films released this year! I guess you can say people are dubbing Pets as..."The Worst of the Best" for this year.

Well AniMat did review Sing. For the final major animated film of this year, he said:
The Story: 6/10 The Animation: 7/10 The Characters: 8/10
Sing (2016): 7/10 - Good!
And yes it looks like he liked it better than The Secret Life of Pets.

So, considering the Scores, what are Ani Mt's Five Lists, this year?
I have a feeling what his Tp one shall be, for 2016, but what do you think, Pups? ;3
