Here's a fun topic I decided to do. I recently reintroduced myself to the original Pokemon video game. So here's what I felt like doing...
If you have played the game, then assemble together your dream team. However, there are specific rules you must follow when assembling your team. This is if you were playing the game for real.
1. Indicate if you are using either the Red Version or the Blue Version of the game (certain Pokemon are not in certain versions).
2. You must have a total of 6 Pokemon; no more, no less.
3. Your roster must include a fire type, a water type, a grass type, a flying type, a psychic type, and another type of your choice (I suggest either electric or ground).
4. Indicate if you chose either Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur at the beginning. You can not have more than one of these (and no, evolutions don't count as something separate).
5. Indicate whether you chose the Helix Fossil or the Dome Fossil (you cannot have both the Pokemon that come from these fossils).
6. You can only choose one of the Eevee evolutions if you so choose to have one of them in your roster.
7. You cannot have both Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee (it must be one or the other).
8. You are allowed to have one of the legendary birds in your roster.
9. You cannot have Mewtwo or Mew in your roster.
10. All Pokemon in your final roster must be fully evolved to their final forms.
Remember, this is considering you are playing just the Red or Blue version of the game and are not swapping with friends. Though with that in mind, I understand it could be hard to get Alakazam, Machamp, Gollum and Gengar since the only way to get them is by trading, so for this, I'll probably make an exception.
For those who don't know, here are the Pokemon who are in the...
Red Version Only
Ekans
Arbok
Oddish
Gloom
Vileplume
Mankey
Primeape
Growlithe
Arcanine
Scyther
Electabuzz
Blue Version Only
Sandshrew
Sandslash
Bellsprout
Weebinbell
Victrebell
Meowth
Persian
Vulpix
Ninetails
Pinsir
Magmar
I'm sure most people here are gamers and have played the original Pokemon games, but for those of you who were raised on the DS and PSP (and the Game Boy was before your time), I think the same rules apply to Pokemon Fire-Red and Leaf-Green; I believe I was told those were remakes of the original games.
Anyway, here's my example. This is my dream team:
I have the Blue Version, and I picked Squirtle as my starter Pokemon.
1. Blastoise
- Surf
- Strength
- Bubble Beam
- Hydro Pump
2. Raichu
- Thunderbolt
- Swift
- Flash
- Thunder
3. Victreebell
- Razor Leaf
- Cut
- Sleep Powder
- Wrap
4. Ninetails
- Flamethrower
- Quick Attack
- Fire Spin
- Fire Blast
5. Hypno
- Psychic
- Hypnosis
- Disable
- Rest
6. Articuno
- Ice Beam
- Blizzard
- Mist
- Fly
I forgot to mention, you can also list the four moves your Pokemon will each have, but that's optional.
Let me know if you have any questions, and I'll answer them as best as I can.
