After watching a good number of episodes of 101 Dalmatian Street, I thought of an idea for a ride based on the series. See what you guys think of it:
Name:
101 Dalmatian Street: Camden Catastrophe
Plot:
Dylan and Dolly have won a chance for their family to go on a cruise together. However, Clarissa stole their ticket so that she can go on the cruise herself, and she also dognapped Doug and Delilah. It’s now up to Dylan and Dolly to try to rescue them and retrieve back their ticket.
Ride Type:
This ride is an interactive trackless dark ride that will have multiple levels and rooms, and guests can get a different experience depending on how they perform on the ride.
Synopsis:
How the ride works is you go through seven different rooms on a three story building which could have one, two or three different scenarios. In each room, Dylan and Dolly are trying to perform some sort of task along with one of their brothers or sisters (there’s a different pup in each room). Also, each room has a special bonus mission, which if you accomplish it, you’ll get a different scene in the next room, but failure to accomplish it will send you to the default scene. A few scenes don’t have bonus missions. A couple of scenes have another supporting character where if you enter that room, they will assist Dylan and Dolly in the next scene.
Setup:
There are 25 different possible combinations of scenarios on the ride, and the ride has a good ending and a bad ending:
Room 1: 101 Dalmatian Street
Dylan is making sure all the pups are here and accounted for and are making sure they are all fed and ready for the day.
- There is a part where Dolly gets stuck. If you help her out before time runs out, you’ll go to 2B. Otherwise, you’ll default to 2A.
Room 2A: Streets of Camden
Dolly is riding her skateboard down the streets of Camden. Dizzy and Dee Dee are guiding her.
- If you have Dolly successfully avoid all the cars on the road, you will advance to 3B. Otherwise, you’ll default to 3A.
Room 2B: Alley
Dylan and Dolly are helping Da Vinci paint on an alley wall.
- Helping Da Vinci with her painting and making an impressive image will allow you to advance to 3C. Otherwise, you’ll default to 3B.
Room 3A: Park
The 3 Dimitri’s are trolling Dylan in the park.
- If you take down all the Dimitri’s before time runs out, you’ll advance to 4B. Otherwise, you’ll default to 4A.
Room 3B: Dock
Fergus asks Dylan to help him find something of his. Dawkins gives you clues.
- Finding the item before time runs out will give you access to 4B. Otherwise, you’ll default to 4A.
Room 3C: Underwater
Dylan and Dolly are doing underwater choreography with December.
- You will go right to 4C after this scene.
Room 4A: Abandoned Carnival
Dylan and Dolly are at an abandoned carnival. Dylan is trying to avoid getting shot at a shooting gallery, while Dolly is trying to rescue Dorothy from a ferris wheel.
- If you were previously in 3B, Fergus will assist Dolly by blowing up balloons for her to use to help her reach Dorothy better.
- If you help Dolly get to Dorothy before she gets flung away, you’ll advance to 5B. Otherwise, you’ll default to 5A.
- If you can manage to get Dylan to avoid getting hit once, you’ll advance to 5C.
Room 4B: Cat Sanctuary
Dylan reluctantly goes through the cat sanctuary with Delgado to retrieve an item.
- If you were previously in 3B, Fergus will fend off some of the cats.
- You will go right to 5B after this room.
Room 4C: Dump
Dylan and Dolly are in the city dump trying to save Deepak. Roxy is there too trying to keep other dogs away from him. There is also a dog catcher looking for them.
- If you could keep the dog catcher from spotting Deepak, you’ll advance to 5C. Otherwise, you’ll default to 5B.
Room 5A: Factory
Dylan and Dolly are looking for Dorothy trying to save her before she becomes a sausage. Donut is also there sampling some food.
- You will go right to 6A after this room.
Room 5B: Pound (Diesel)
Dylan and Dolly are in the pound trying not to get caught by the dog catcher. Diesel is also digging around trying to make an escape route for them.
- If you were previously in 4C, Roxy will help Dylan and Dolly not get caught by having the three of them perform a totem pole trench together.
- If Dylan and Dolly make it through the pound without getting caught and having to rely on Diesel to bust them out, you will advance to 6B. Otherwise, you’ll default to 6A.
Room 5C: Construction Area
Dylan and Dolly are ascending a building in a construction site trying to reach a certain object. DJ is there providing music.
- If you were previously in 4C, Roxy will be there to give Dolly and Dylan a boost if they need it.
- If you can prevent Dolly and Dylan from falling before time runs out, you’ll advance to 6B. Otherwise, you’ll default to 6A.
Room 6A: Camden Police Station
Dylan finds himself at the police station trying to find a key to Clarissa’s hideout but only to be scolded by Pearl. Dallas, Destiny and Deja Vu distract her by performing some moves together.
- After this room, you will get the bad ending.
Room 6B: Highway
Dylan and Dolly are driving a car racing down the highway to get to Clarissa’s Hideout. Dante is also there panicking about the end of the world coming.
- After this room, you will get the good ending.
Room 7: Clarissa’s Hideout
Our heroes arrive at Clarissa’s hideout where she is holding Doug and Delilah hostage. One of two different endings could occur:
THE BAD ENDING: Doug and Delilah are saved from a near death experience, but Clarissa gets away with the ticket, and the riders are sent back down to ground level in a free fall (similar to Tower of Terror), and the pups all return home disappointed that they didn’t get to go on the cruise, but at least they’re all home safe and sound.
THE GOOD ENDING: Doug and Delilah are about to have a near death experience, but karma hits Clarissa, and Dylan and Dolly rescue Doug and Delilah and get their ticket back, and the riders go back down to ground level via spiral slide and see all the Dalmatians playing and relaxing on the cruise ship.
