Wow! It was 2012 when I last created a new character. Almost nine years later I come out with a new one. Mizan’s quirk bases inspires me yet again. I colored a base and boom! I was inspired. So let me introduce you to my first non-binary Dalmatian! I plan to create a Street version of Genesis, too.
Name: Genesis
Breed: Dalmatian
Sexuality: Alloromantic
Alignment: Good
Gender: Non-binary
(Genesis’s pronouns are They/Them)
Marital status: Single
Biography:
Born in a litter of four, in the rich part of Grutely, Genesis, named Oliver by their humans, and agreed by their parents, seemed to have it all. The good life. Never having the thought of going hungry. Proper nutrition.
Growing up with conservative humans, their beliefs were passed down onto Genesis’s parents, Nadine and Rocky. They told their litter the expected them to associate with all things acceptable. That means puppies who identify as a male and female. That they have the final say in everything, which meant collars on at all times. Nadine and Rocky also expected the offspring To compete in dog shows—to carry on in their paw steps when Genesis and their siblings reach of age. Even as Nadine and Rocky were strict, they still loved their puppies.
Overtime, however, Genesis began questioning themself overall. Did they have to identify themself as a boy? Much less a female? To their family, Genesis was born a boy. And living in a conservative household, they were taught that two genders were created: Male and Female. Maybe now wasn’t the perfect time to confess.
Music always seemed to calm them. Singing, instrumental. Seeing that their pets had a portable piano, they would go wild on the keyboard. They would watch videos of humans playing the piano, or other musical instruments, which inadvertently taught him how to play the piano. At times when Genesis place, their humans believe the house is haunted.
Music always brought them into deep thought. It was the music itself, that sweet sounding goodness, that persuaded Genesis to come out. They put on some synthwave as they went to the bathroom to get make up. Then they adorned their eyelids in black mascara. Genesis wagged as they believed they looked beautiful. From the moment the mascara was applied, Genesis no longer felt like a boy, or a girl. But a Genesis. When their parents returned home, Genesis took a deep breath as he came clean, telling Nadine and Rocky that they were non-binary and to call them Genesis. It felt hard to lift this burden, and Genesis welcomed threatening bellows from their mom and dad. Instead, they were embraced in a hug. Even if Nadine and Rocky doesn’t agree with Genesis’s lifestyle, the two tolerated Genesis.
One day, Genesis watched as a group of Dalmatians—one had spots in the shape of stars, plump, wearing a black cape, the other black ears with three white spots on the right. Maroon collar, with a blob spot on the back. The last Dalmatian, female, with a green collar with spots in the formation of dragons. It’s from them that Genesis learned about the Dearly Farm. So eventually, they left with the three farm Dalmatians. Pongo and Perdita use the twilight bark to let Nadine and Rocky know that Genesis is safe at the Dearly Farm.
Personality:
A deep thinker, they may seem quiet on the outside but on the inside Genesis lives a vibrant passionate life. Their caring nature help them create strong bonds with the other Dalmatians and livestock. Thoughtful, generous, and open minded, they are always there to lend a helping paw. They value equality, and want to ensure that every voice and perspective is heard. And their music helps them profoundly. A strong believer in “music soothes the fiercest foe.”
Appearance:
Petite, but not too much. Genesis’s right ear is white with a black spot, and their left is black with a white spot. One black spot on forehead and one on each cheek. Spots cover their chest, belly, and pelvic region. Turquoise eyes with black mascara on their eyelids. Green collar. Purplish-pinkish paw pads. Tongue and inner ears the same color.
Notes:
-Plays piano, guitar, flute, recorder
-Loves to tease pups who have a paw fetish with their feetpaws
-Hates being misgendered
-Avid video game player
-Doesn’t mind taking part in video projects
-Loves the paranormal and magic. Hangs out with felines.
