Chapter 5
The next morning, Balance was outside with a rag and her Katana Blade as she started polishing it, she never forgot what happened with Lt. Pug back at the meadow, the anger inside of Shawn and the fear inside of Blake, this was what she believed Lt. Pug really wanted. A war… A war that would ruin people’s lives, she knew that Cadpig almost started World War 3 here at the barn, even getting Pongo, Perdy, Roger, Anita and Nanny involved. And Lt. Pug looked like he wanted to finish the job.
Looking up from her Katana Blade, she noticed her Step Siblings were playing out in the yard, the time with Lt. Pug had put the Bark Brigade on hold for a while long enough for the investigation to begin, she recalled while they were waiting for Shawn, Blake and Shane. T.J. told her that the Colonel was going to talk to Captain McPurr. It was the first time she has ever heard the name.
War... War never changes... Balance thought. After she finished her polishing, she put her Katana Blade back in the Sheath on her back.
Meanwhile Shane was skateboarding as he made his way to Blake, he put the skateboard to a complete stop and walked over to his brother. “How are you doing?” He asked.
Blake scooted to give his brother room to sit and continued looking at the streets, seeing the cars pass by. “Fine.” He replied.
“Nice day, isn’t it?” Shane asked.
“Mmmhmm, Sub dude’s got thirty seconds.” Blake replied.
“You ordered 104 Subs?” Shane asked, looking at Blake.
Blake shook his head. “No, five. Roger, Anita and the others are going out to eat.” He replied to Shane. “I ordered T.J. a Meatball Marinara Sub, Balance a Teriyaki Chicken Sub, Shawn a Buffalo Chicken Sub, you a Spicy Italian and me a Veggie Delight.”
“So, that’s five subs you ordered?” Shane asked.
“That’s correct, dude.” Blake replied.
A thought came across Shane. “Ever thought about what happened today with Shawn, you know. His Anger issues?” He asked. Shane was eager to see what Blake had really thought about Lt. Pug’s intention.
Blake dusted his hands off. “Times up, forty Bucks off.” He spoke.
Shane shook his head.
—
A Persian cat with a Dalmatian with white ears was in the trolley. “That Lt. Pug is a menace!” He said to the Colonel.
“I humbly agree, sir.” Spotty spoke, he looked at the Colonel and Sgt. Tibbs. “I had a feeling that Lt. Pug would have a family member kill another member of the family.” He wasn’t really pleased with the results that the Colonel had reported to him and Bill.
“The four siblings will be trained by their Sensei, instead.” Sgt. Tibbs said to both Captain McPurr and Spotty.
“Sensei?” Spotty asked.
“Yes sir! He goes by the name T.J.” Sgt. Tibbs replied.
“Is he a Dalmatian?” Spotty asked.
The Colonel shook his head. “No, he’s a Doberman who is a guardian to Balance and her siblings.” He replied to Spotty.
“Is this T.J. part of the Bark Brigade, Colonel?” Billy asked.
The Colonel shook his head. “No, but he is training them in the art of Ninjutsu.” He replied to Captain McPurr.
“Ninjutsu?” Spotty asked the Colonel. “He should’ve been training them to be Samurai’s instead, only Cats learn Ninjutsu.”
“Yes, of course.” The Colonel spoke. “But this was a decision that the four had made as they believe learning the art of the Ninja is really cool.”
“But aren’t Ninjas…?” Spotty started to say, but decided not to finish his sentence, as he wanted to get back at the task at hand. “Anyway, besides having Shawn kill his brother, what else does Lt. Pug do in his spare time?”
—
A Delivery guy had driven the truck up to the Dearly Farm as he had the five subs in a bag, he stopped the truck and got out with the subs in hand, as he reached for the door of the barn, he saw a fifteen Dollar bill, as he handed the bag over to someone behind the door. He grabbed the fifteen and looked at it. “Hey, this is a Fifteen, the tabs 55.”
“You’re two minutes late dude.” Blake spoke behind the door.
“Aw, come on, we were backed up and the description didn’t help much.” The Delivery guy spoke. “There’s plenty of farms here in Gruteley that have cows, Chickens and sheep.”
“Wise men say. “Forgiveness is divine, but never pay full price for late subs.”.”
The Delivery guy looked at the barn. “I got to get customers to be clearer on their addresses, and I thought I knew the city of Gruteley like the back of my hand.” He said to himself as he walked over to his truck. He then started to drive off.
Spotty after his discussion with Colonel and Sgt. Tibbs decided to check the farm out and to see Balance, Shawn, Blake and Shane. He knew that they had to still be there, Cadpig, Lucky and Rolly invited him to join them, but he decided to stick around and check the farm out and see if Balance, Shawn, Blake and Shane were alright.
Spotty opened the barn door, noticing that Balance, Blake, Shawn, Shane and TJ were chowing down on some subs. “Hey guys.” He said to them as he walked up to the Teenagers and their Sensei.
“Hey Spotty.” Balance spoke.
“Yo Spotty, what it is.” Shawn said to Spotty.
“We a bought a dinner.” Shane spoke in an Italian Accent.
“So, I’m guessing you guys don’t want any napkins?” Spotty asked the group.
“Nope, we got them right here.” Blake replied to Spotty.
Spotty noticed the napkins next to Balance, Shawn, Blake, Shane and T.J. “Right.” He said to Blake. He had to admit that this is the first time he’s seen them eat subs before, when Blake’s not scarfing down the pizzas that Spotty would bring to the Dearly Farm after he came home with a box. “At least you guys are using Napkins this time and not making a mess, Blake.”
FlashbackBlake takes the kibble pizza out of the box.
“Be careful, Blake.” Spotty warned. “I can’t go back and have Tony make another one.”
“Don’t worry, I got this.” Blake assured him. “Besides this is the new turbo ginsu.” He then tosses the pizza up in the air.
Balance takes out her Katana Blades and starts slicing up the pizza.
Blake watched with a grin. “It slices, it dices and it makes French Fries in thirty different..” A slice of pizza didn’t just land on Blake’s, Balance’s, Shawn’s and Shane’s plate but also landed on T.J.’s head. “Oops.”
Spotty glares at Blake. “You’ll be careful, huh?” He asked in a stern yet annoyed voice.
“Heheh…” Blake chuckled nervously.
T.J. Looks at both Blake and Spotty, then shrugged. “Kids.” He spoke.
Shane placed a napkin over the top of his shirt before he took his slice from his plate.
“At least let me get you some napkins.” Spotty said to Shawn and Blake.
“What for?” They asked in unison.
Spotty rolled his eyes. What was he thinking?
Blake took a bite out of his pizza as the melted cheese stretched out.
End of Flashback.“Did you come and play video games, Spotty?” Blake asked.
“Not really, just to see how you guys are doing.” Spotty replied.
“We’re doing okay, for now.” Balance spoke.
Balance just finished her sub up as she wadded her paper up.
“We’ve also been getting reports of people stealing packages that people have been ordering on Barkbay.” Spotty spoke. “As well as what we can do with Lt. Pug.”
“That would explain why Roger can’t get any of his packages.” Said Shane as he finished his sub. “The parts that I ordered haven't come in either.”
“To fix the well that Roger “Fixes”.”?” Balance asked, referring to the time when Roger went to fix the pipe only for the water to start flowing from the well and end up at the farm as she air quoted the word fixes, since Roger doesn’t do a good job at fixing up the pipes.
Shane nodded. “Yeah, I feel like something wrong is happening to our packages, lately.” He replied to his sister.
“Strange…” Spotty said to his step siblings. While he may have an idea on who is taking the packages, he didn’t want to get Balance and her siblings involved, while it was classified he usually would reveal tiny hints here and there when he felt like it could prove too much for him and his team.
“Have you heard anything about it, Spotty?” Balance asked.
“Hmm?” Spotty hummed. He looked and noticed that Balance was looking at him. “Oh, no, I got nothing on what has been happening to the packages, The Paw Patrol Military don’t give me intel anymore.” Of course, he was lying to Balance, but it was to protect them, this was something he could handle on his own.
—--
As the moon lit up the night sky, Humans and Anthros were enjoying their pizza’s.
Blaze cut a pizza pie up to 8 Slices and looked at Spotty who was looking at a billboard that had Cadpig’s face on it. “Spotty, you’re up, I don’t know why I’m giving you a second chance, but fail this and your butt is to be fired and there won’t be a third chance this time.”
Spotty walked over to the counter. “This pizza is to be delivered to Ralphie St. Lowrent who is working late tonight.” Blaze spoke, handing him the two pizzas that were in the heating bag.
“Again? He should be taking a break now.” Spotty spoke as he took the pizza, he then noticed a group of teens, one was a female human, a Female Rottweiler, A Female Cockapoo, and a Female German Shepherd.
“Which of you lovely ladies want a ride on my scooter?” Spotty asked.
“Dream on, Sputnik.” The Female Cockapoo replied.
“Yeah, okay. But when I do, I’ll dream of someone a bit taller.” Spotty joked as he placed the heating bag in the box and got on the scooter, sure he had 29 minutes to make it to Ralphie St. Lowrent’s workplace but he was also eager to keep an eye out for the package robberies.
As he headed toward Ralphie St. Lowrent’s House of Fashion, he noticed a van was parked outside a building as a door was wide open, in the van was boxes of food, clothes, money, games. The Dalmatian shook his head as he drove over to the building, something wasn’t right as he stopped the scooter. He then picked up his walkie talkie. “This is Spotty, Jordan, Zach, are you two there? Over.”
A voice came from the intercom of the walkie talkie. “Yes, we read you loud and clear, over.” Jordan spoke.
“Turns out I may have found our Package Thieves.” Spotty spoke. “Requesting to investigate over.”
“Request granted.” Zach’s voice was heard.
Spotty didn’t know what to think as he walked up to the door and saw some guys in masks stacking up boxes. “What are you guys doing, playing blocks?” He asked them.
Once the robbers saw Spotty, One of the men lifted up his mask. “And what are you, night security?” He asked in return.
Spotty shook his head. “No, I’m actually part of the Paw Patrol Military.” He replied
The guys started toward him, as one muttered. “Yeah, sure you are, kid.”
To defend himself, Spotty did a jump kick to a guy’s face, knocking him down onto the floor. Then punched another guy, as two more started to gang up on him, he countered their blows with his own, as one started to get back up, Spotty drop kicked him. “Stay down!”
He noticed that he took them out. “Did I mention that the military trained me to defend myself?” He asked out of the blue.
More robbers showed up with boxes. As Spotty started to get worried, he grabbed his walkie talkie. “Jordan, send me back up, over.” He said.
“Yeah, you’re going to need it kid.” One of the robbers spoke.
Behind Spotty, Balance, Shawn, Blake and Shane had appeared, it didn’t look like he was alone as the Dalmatian looked and saw Balance and her siblings, then looked at the robbers and did a triple take. He wasn’t really expecting them to be here, but knew that he was happy that they were. As Balance and her siblings jumped into the air and landed between Spotty and the robbers themselves ready for action.
When the robbers saw that there were more of the Dalmatians, they started to scatter, when a robber came toward Balance, she punched him. “Remember guys, this is our first mission, so let’s go all out.” She said to her brothers.
Shawn ran toward a guy and knocked him out in one hit. “This is definitely wicked.” He said as he grinned.
As Shane took one robber out, he grinned. “Bossa Nova!” He shouted.
“Bossa Nova, geez dude.” Blake said before he got hit in the face by a robber, Shane started thinking of a victory cheer as Spotty continued watching the event that unfolded as he rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn’t seeing things, Balance, Shawn, Blake and Shane were here in the building with him.
Shawn took one robber out with his staff, then took out someone that tried to attack him from behind.
—--
Shane saw a beagle robber with a bag as he taunted him. “Come along little doggy.” Then hits the dog’s butt with his rope. “Rawhide, Robo Shepherd.”
As the Beagle was about to strike, Shane grabbed a hold of the dog’s fist and flipped the Beagle Robber onto his back and hogtied him. Striking a victory pose, he chuckled. “Ninja Cowboy!”
—--
Blake was chased into a room as he looked at the robbers that surrounded him. “Wait, wait, can we talk?!” He asked.
The Robbers jumped him as Blake sneakily got out of getting hit by the robbers fists. “I guess not.” He dusted himself off. “Pitiful.” He then looked and saw that the robbers were beating one of their own that he dragged under with him as his substitute as a punching bag. He wondered when they were going to realize that he had escaped the pummeling.
—
Balance saw that she had both guys on her left and right as she smiled, they charged at her and she did a split kick then landed on her feet. “Guys, after all these years, I finally managed to do it.”
Shawn looked at his sister after taking out a robber. “I didn’t see it, do it again.” He said to her.
Balance saw that two more were heading her way as she did the trick again having the robbers come in contact with her feet.
“One more time.” Shawn said as he punched a robber out that was coming his way.
Balance saw another wave of two robbers heading her way as she did her trick one more time.
“Saw that one.” Shawn said with a grin.
—
Shane runs into a room full of supplies and gets an idea when some robbers followed him in, Shane had his staff as he tossed a smoke bomb down, causing smoke to surround them all, sounds of getting whacked with the staff was heard as the smoke disappeared. “Got to be quicker than the smoke bomb and even faster than me.”
—
Blake was playing with his robber as the robber took a swing at him, but Blake ducked. “Missed me dude.” He chuckled as he got on the counter of the deli and kicked the robber, another one pushed him off and into the Deli, while he was curious if he got the Dalmatian, the Anthro popped up and grabbed him, pulling him over the counter. “Come to get some of our Chicken Tenders dude?” Blake asked. “Well, come on over here and I’ll show you our selection.”
Two more robbers watched from afar as things went flying up from behind the counter as Blake came back up. “You want some of our pickles too? I’ll give you some pickles.” He then went down.
The robbers started getting worried as Blake popped back up with Cold Cuts in his hands and demonstrated his work of using them, they got scared as they ran off and Blake chased after them, when they reached the door, Blake threw the cold cuts at them. “Next time, I hope you will choose our Veggie Delights.”
Dusting the grease and meat juice off of his hands, Blake grinned as he wagged his tail as he felt that he and his family did a good deed of protecting the store, Ma and Pa’s Grocery Store had been attacked before with Robbers, but Balance and them weren’t sure about this one as this was smaller than a mall and bigger than Ma and Pa’s Grocery Store.
He saw Spotty trying to comprehend what happened as he’s never seen Balance, Shawn, Blake and Shane use Ninjutsu before with his own two eyes. “You okay, bro?” Blake asked.
Spotty wanted to say yeah, but he was at a loss for words as it took just four Dalmatians to wipe out an entire gang of Robbers without breaking a sweat. “How? Where? What?” He started backing away from his step siblings as he looked at them.
“Leaves Why and When out.” Shane responded as he placed his hand on Spotty’s shoulder.
“I… I honestly don’t know what to say, this is the first time I saw you four fight.” Spotty finally spoke.
“We did learn some moves before we came to the farm.” Balance explained.
“Look, if you can get to a phone, be sure to call the police.” Shawn said to Spotty as he walked up to him. “We’ll start wrapping them up.”
“But…”
“Yeah, yeah, but good. Go!” Shawn said to Spotty.
Spotty left for a pay phone as Shawn and the others tended to wrap up the robbers.
—
At a Payphone, Spotty was talking to the police. “Alright, but hurry. There’s a ton of these guys.” He spoke. “Okay… Bye.” He then hung up the phone. He knew that TJ was teaching them since the incident with Lt. Pug, but he didn’t expect them to learn this fast. The Dalmatian let out a sigh as he headed back to the department store. “Okay, the police will be here any…” He noticed that the Dalmatians were gone.
In their place were the robbers piled up as one was hanging by a thread, everyone of them groaning from the pain. It was getting late and Spotty needed to get to Ralphie before the 30 Mins were up, he walked toward the Scooter and headed for Ralphie St. Lowrent’s place.
–
A secretary was at her desk with her headset on, typing up something on her computer, when she noticed that Spotty had opened up the door. He walked up to the counter. “Pizza Time.” He said to the Secretary. “Two orders for Ralphie St. Lowrent.”
The Secretary looked at the clock and back at Spotty. “I’m not paying for it.” She said to the Dalmatian.
“Aw, come on, what’s five extra minutes between friends?” Spotty asked. “You know what they say, an Anthro’s best friend is a Human.”
The secretary wasn’t his friend as she just stared at the Dalmatian while he took the two boxes of pizza from the heating bag and placed the pizza on the counter.
Spotty sighed as he left the building.
—
“Blaze’s Twenty Nine Minutes is a promise.” Blaze shouted at Spotty. “I know that a promise to you means nothing, Spotty. But to me it is Serious.”
The Customers who were eating pizza were staring at him as Blaze wasn’t about to go easy on Spotty for not thinking about the Twenty Nine Minute Guarantee, even people outside the place were staring at Blaze chewing Spotty out.
“It’s serious to me too, Blaze…” Spotty said to the German Shepherd, he wanted to tell Blaze to shut up, that there was a robbery at a department store on his way to Ralphie’s and he was trying to stop it, but knew that Blaze wasn’t going to stop at the Twenty Nine Minute Guarantee, he would’ve gone further than that. “So.. Could I have one more chance?”
“No more Chances, Spotty.” Blaze said to the Dalmatian as he didn’t want to hear anymore excuses from Spotty. “You’re fired! Fired!” He then walked over to Spotty and ripped off the sticker of Blaze’s Pizzeria off of Spotty’s shirt.
Great… Spotty thought, then again. Blaze did act like a jerk to him when he first worked for him. He headed back to the base to see what mission that McPurr wanted him to do next.
—---
Shawn was near the front entrance of the Dearly Farmhouse when he saw Pongo and Perdy discussing things with Roger, Anita and Nanny. He started to knock at the door and wondered if Perdy would hear him out as he apologized to her. He knows that Perdy can’t really replace his mother.
He saw that the door opened. “Shawn? What are you doing here, when you should be in bed.” A familiar voice said to him. Shawn looked and thought he saw his mother was standing in front of him, he shook his head as he saw it was Perdy. “Yeah, sorry. I just came to apologize for my behavior.” Shawn said to Perdy.
Perdy smiled and hugged Shawn. “It’s okay, I forgive you. All I ask is give us a chance.” She suggested. “You won’t be disappointed in us.”
“I’ll hold you to that.” Shawn said to Perdy, seeing her smile. He then started to yawn.
“You better get to bed, I won’t take no for an answer.” Perdy said.
Shawn nodded his head. “Alright.” He said to Perdy as he saw Pongo walk up to Perdy. “Night you two.” He then went toward the barn and fell off to sleep.
