So far... it seems like Cars 2 isn't getting that great of reviews. This is the way Pixar's scores go on Rotten Tomatoes:
Toy Story (1995): 100% A Bug's Life (1998): 91% Toy Story 2 (1999): 100% Monsters Inc. (2001): 95% Finding Nemo (2003): 98% The Incredibles (2004): 97% Cars (2006): 74% Ratatouille (2007): 96% Wall-E (2008): 96% Up (2009): 98% Toy Story 3 (2010): 99%
So far, every Disney/Pixar film, even Cars, got a "Fresh" rating. As of right now here's the critics' consensus:
Cars 2 (2011): 33%
Cars 2 is Stuck in Neutral
Yep. Thus far, Pixar's first film to get a "Rotten" certification. The biggest problems that critics seem to have with it is the fact that it looks great, but in this film the espionage plot is not the most inspired, and character development and story are taking a backseat to jokes and shtick.
It probably will still make money, but I think this is going to be Pixar's first bomb. I guess we should wait and see if it even gets nominated for Best Animated Film of 2011.

Dosen't matter how good "Cars 2" actually is, the film is going to make a buttload of money because it is "Cars" and little kids love it. That's not bias, despite being a car guy I wasn't a big fan of "Cars," it's just the way it is.

That sucks, because I kind of had high hopes for Cars 2. Maybe this will be a wake up call to Pixar, and they'll decide not to make any more sequels to their films.

I got the chance to see Cars 2 last night.
And I have to say, it was actually pretty good!
I know it's getting a really bad rep from critics right now, but I enjoyed what I saw. It was also really, really dark- possibly one of the darkest things I've seen Pixar do, next to The Incredibles. I mean, there were car deaths, and a lot of them. And there was a lot of intensity as well, but they still had a good message and it wasn't just some spy movie.
The villain reveal and piecing together the mystery bit by bit was also incredibly clever as well. You almost never expect it and it's a really interesting reveal.
They focused a little too much on Mater, but that's really my only complaint. Otherwise, it was a classic Pixar movie and a good follow-up to the first one. And my new favorite character is Holley Shiftwell. If you see it, you'll come to appreciate her too.

I still haven't seen Cars 2 yet, but judging by the bad reviews it's getting, I'm considering not going to see it. I'll probably just wait for the DVD. Also, Pixar's upcoming film, Brave, doesn't look all that interesting, so I'm probably going to pass on that one.

I just got back from seeing "Brave", and despite the rave reviews I've been hearing, this film was pretty disappointing to me. It didn't feel at all like the Pixar I know and love, plus it seemed too short. I'd probably give it this for the criteria:
Story: A- Characters: C- Animation: A+ Jokes: D Songs: D+
For an overall rating, I'd probably give the film a B-. Not the best I've seen, but not horrible. Here's how I'd currently rank the Pixar features from best to worst not counting the sequels:
1. Wall-E 2. Toy Story 3. Finding Nemo 4. Up 5. The Incredibles 6. A Bug's Life 7. Ratatouille 8. Brave 9. Cars 10. Monsters Inc.
Cars used to be my least favorite because I felt it was overrated, but since I recently got to see the newly-opened Cars Land at the Disneyland Resort, I now like it a little better.

When you say "Songs", were there any songs in this new Pixar Movie then?
I am considering taking Kendra to see it, since she is interested in the items in it. E.G. Scottish, Celtic, etc.
Worth seeing? Also, If you did inclued Sequels, where would each one rank?

They play songs in the background. It's not like in Tangled where the characters break out into musical numbers. And I don't know where I'd rank the sequels because I had mixed opinions about each one.

Sorry to hear it didn't rock your world Belchic.
I was juggling with the idea, but I think I'll just wait until it comes out on DVD. Besides, I think I'll probably like Ted better.
I remember what AniMat said in his review of Cars 2:
"All I can say at this point Pixar, is Brave had better be amazing!"
Something tells me he'll be somewhat disappointed.

Well, a lot of my friends loved it, and some even cried over it, so I'm sure others will love it better than me.

Well, I don't rank any movies I previously seen but I watched all pixar films from Toy Story - Toy Story 3. I still haven't watched all latest pixar films like Tangled, Brave and Cars 2. (Is Tangled even a pixar film?) Anyway, I have may options to watch them: on the big screen, buy pirated dvd's or just download them for free but, I don't feel like watching them... I don't know why but if I do watch them, I'll just criticize or praise the said movies... Well, that's my thoughts people.

I just got word on the Wireless that they're making; "Finding Nemo 2"! O.O
Am I sensing a pattern that Pixar have begun to go into their "Let's make a sequel to all our Movies" phase, like Disney did? o.o
