Since we have a Disney Animated Classic Chat topic, I think it would be appropriate if we had a topic about the Disney-Pixar films. Here's what I have to say about each one so far:
Title: Toy Story (1995)
Did I See It Theatrically?: Yes
Personal Rating: A+
Brief Comments: This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I think it always will be.
Title: A Bug's Life (1998)
Did I See It Theatrically?: Yes
Personal Rating: B
Brief Comments: While many consider this to be the least best of the Disney-Pixar films, I still see a lot of redeeming factors about it.
Title: Toy Story 2 (1999)
Did I See It Theatrically?: Yes
Personal Rating: A-
Brief Comments: This is a good sequel that lives up to it's predecessor, but it's nowhere near as good, and I think it was the jokes and the pop culture references that made it suffer.
Title: Monsters, Inc. (2001)
Did I See It Theatrically?: No (At this point, I had given up on Disney thinking they were no longer able to make good-quality films.)
Personal Rating: C
Brief Comments: In my opinion, this movie set the standards for a bad CGI movie; I think this is the only Pixar movie by far to focus on jokes more than story, but if anything, it's the characters that get the most focus.
Title: Finding Nemo (2003)
Did I See It Theatrically?: No (Though, I do regret it.)
Personal Rating: A+
Brief Comments: I don't know why, but I've always seemed to have a heart for this movie; I hope they make a sequel to it, but if they do, I'll only watch it if Ellen DeGeneres comes back for her role.
Title: The Incredibles (2004)
Did I See It Theatrically?: Yes
Personal Rating: B+
Brief Comments: This movie had some great characters, a lot of entertainment, but some messages that weren't very kid-friendly; it's fun to watch, but it's a little too long.
Title: Cars (2006)
Did I See It Theatrically?: No
Personal Rating: C-
Brief Comments: I think this movie is WAY too overrated!
Title: Ratatouille (2007)
Did I See It Theatrically?: No
Personal Rating: B-
Brief Comments: It's a good movie, and it has a lot of redeeming factors, but for some reason, it doesn't leave me wanting to watch it again.
Title: Wall-E (2008)
Did I See It Theatrically?: Yes (Although, everyone else I know went and saw it at least three times!)
Personal Rating: A+
Brief Comments: This was, hands down, the start of Disney's new reniassance; a must see!
Title: Up (2009)
Did I See It Theatrically?: Yes
Personal Rating: A
Brief Comments: I think probably the best Pixar has done story-wise.
Title: Toy Story 3 (2010)
Did I See It Theatrically?: Yes (Although, everyone else I know went and saw it at least twice.)
Personal Rating: A+
Brief Comments: Believe it or not, I had very low expectations about this film, even though everyone else in the world had very high expectations about it; I was expecting this to be the worst of the Toy Story trilogy, but I was proven wrong, and apparantley, it's now the Citizen Kane of animated films!
I welcome other thoughts.
