This is the first I've heard of Loving Vincent. While Coco will likely win it's worth noting that Loving Vincent appears to be quite an achievement in animation; the film is about the aftermatch of the death of Vincent van Gogh and all 65,000 frames in the 95-minute film are seperate oil paintings made for the movie. The look, as you'd expect, nails the look of van Gogh's own paintings. www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGzKnyhYDQI

True story.
When they were about to give the Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature, I was like "Coco?" and then Amy Poehler and Andy Samberg were like "Coco."

Okay, guys! We have our nominees for Best Animated Feature! And they are...
The Boss Baby The Breadwinner Coco Ferdinand Loving Vincent
In addition to that, the song, “Remember Me”, has also been nominated for Best Original Song.
I knew Coco would be nominated, and it looks like I nailed the foreign independent films, but the other two are kind of oddball choices. Regardless, I’m sure Coco is going to win.

"Ferdinand" has a theme of pacifism that likely makes the award types take notice...but let's be honest "Coco" is a lock here unless one of the foreign films pulls an upset. Kind of bummed "Big Bad Fox" got passed over but "Breadwinner" is a great choice and "Loving Vincent" required so much effort it needed to be recognized. I'd have taken "Cars 3" over "Boss Baby" but eh.

Yeah, Boss Baby is probably the biggest shocker since that movie got mixed reviews. I guess the Academy decided to give Dreamworks and Blue Sky a chance this year. As for Cars 3, I think Despicable Me 3 had a better chance of getting nominated than that considering how well it did both critically and financially.
I’m sure Coco is definitely going to win. Not only was it undeniably the best Animated Film of the year, but if we’ve learned anything from the Oscars, if Disney or Pixar has a nomination in the category, they’re getting the Oscar no matter what.

Hey guys!
They just awarded the Razzie Awards just today. These mock awards go to the Worst of Film.
Anyway, they had 10 different awards like usual.
Would you like to know what won the Razzie Award for Worst Picture?
The nominees included:
Baywatch Fifty Shades Darker The Mummy Transformers: the Last Knight
The winner?
Yep. The Emoji Movie is now the very first animated film to win the Razzie Award for Worst Picture. It also picked up about three more:
Worst Director - Tony Leondis Worst Screenplay - Tony Leondis, Eric Siegel and Mike White, based on the trend of emojis Worst Screen Couple - Any two obnoxious emojis
How do you like that? I was laughing my ass off.
