Why would it need his Seal of Approval for it to be good?
On a side note, Minions: Rise of Gru is also looking good, with a current RT score of 70%.

I still fail to see why everyone loves that movie so much and brand it as the best Pixar film ever made.

I thought Lightyear was an utter failure. As just a movie it would have been boring and... just forgetable. However, it completwly failed at what it tried to be
At the beginning of the movie it said this was the movie that inspired the Buzz Lightyear toys in Toy Story.
However Buzz doesn't get his iconic wrist lazer until the LAST scene of the movie and it doesn't even get used, so why was it included in the toy?
His rocket pack only makes ONE appearance in the movie.
They got evil emperor Zurg's design wrong, you aren't supposed to see his legs, he isn't an emperor, and his identity really shouldn't have been revealed in this movie of Toy Story 2 is anything to go by.
There are a ton of other problems with the movie that I don't have time to write now, but that is the movie's BIGGEST issue.

Tomorrow we are going to finally see the other 2020 pandemic holdout, Minions: Rise of Gru. With a current score of 67% the RT consensus is?
The Minions' antic shenanigans are beginning to grate despite this sequel's injection of retro chic, although this loony marathon of gags will still delight young children.
It seems like by this point Despicable Me might be almost out of gas (this is the 5th movie after all), but amazingly enough critics like it give it a recommendation.
I will enjoy this one!

You go ahead and have fun, Trey. I’ve got my own plans for 4th of July weekend. Though on July 8, I’ll finally be able to figure out what AniMat’s 2020 scores would have been had we not had the pandemic.

Well, believe it or not, AniMat has already uploaded his review of Minions: The Rise of Gru! It must have been released in Canada a week ago. He didn't like the first one, but how did the sequel fair out? Story: 5/10 Animation: 8/10 Characters: 5/10 Overall: 6/10 = 60% He claims this movie is clearly targeted at kids, and doesn't recommend it to anyone else unless they're a huge fan of the Minions, which is apparently the case for someone like Trey_Vore, so I know he's gonna love this movie! Now, here are the rankings: 1. Turning Red - 87% 2. Bob's Burgers: The Movie - 83% 3. The Bad Guys - 80% 4. Lightyear - 77% 5. Apollo 10 1/2: A Space Age Childhood - 60% 6. Minions: The Rise of Gru - 60% 7. Hotel Transylvania: Transformania - 33% 8. Ice Age: The Adventures of Buck Wild - 33% I was going to do my 2020 thing, but unfortunately, I don't have time today, and possibly not for the next few days, so you'll be seeing me do that a little later.

I did enjoy Minions: Rise of Gru.
It did give a bunch of laughs and sent some nice messages.
It does feel like this franchise is just about out of gas, but had enough for one more.
I may have a contender!

I may have a contender! Well, Illumination has confirmed that they are making a Despicable Me 4, and it's scheduled to come out in 2024.

Right, but a third Secret Life of Pets movie is long overdue still.

Hotel Transylvania: Transformania - 33% 8. Ice Age: The Adventures of Buck Wild - 33% This could be the best and worst of list 2022 until now We're only halfway through the year now. We still have yet to see his reviews on "Paws of Fury", "DC League of Superpets", "Wendell & Wild", "Strange World", "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules", "Pinocchio" and "Puss in Boots". And that's not even counting any of the direct-to-streaming films that some of us probably don't know about.

I don't know about that. Compare that to how much money Despicable Me/Minions has been pulling in.
A recent report stated that they are one of the highest-grossing CG-animated film series. It makes more money than Shrek, more than Ice Age, even more than Toy Story!

Illumination also makes tons of money off of The Secret Life of Pets. In 2016, that movie was the third-highest-grossing animated film of the year, even making more than Moana! Just because it doesn’t make as much as the Minions movies doesn’t mean they won’t make any more sequels to it at all.
