I doubt that Megamind will be nominated, though. I don't see it gaining a cult following.

I liked Alpha and Omega and Despicable Me a hell of a lot. Toy Story 3 and How to Train Your Dragon were OK. Unfortunately no matter how much I love A & O and Despicable Me I don't think it will win.
So Without those 2 . There is one movie that I want to win as much as A & 0 and DM. Ant that movie is Tangled. But, I really hope A & 0 or Despicable Me win something at the KCA'S . I know it's not the Academy Awards but I believe it would be a shame if those 3 movies didn't win something from somewhere.

Just for fun, I decided to make an assumption as to what the nominees going against the winners will be like if it were a category and all. I'm going to go in reverse order starting with 2000, and I'm only going to go as far back as 1988 because that's as far back as I think I can go. Also, keep in mind, there will be either 3 or 5 nominees for each category.
So, without further ado, here we go!
2000
Chicken Run The Emperor's New Groove The Road to El Dorado
Winner: Cicken Run
1999
The Iron Giant Pokemon: The First Movie South Park: Bigger, Longer Uncut Tarzan Toy Story 2
Winner: Tarzan
1998
A Bug's Life Mulan The Prince of Egypt
Winner: A Bug's Life
1997
Anastasia Hercules Princess Mononoke
Winner: Princess Mononoke
1996
Beavis and Butthead Do America The Hunchback of Notre Dame Space Jam
Winner: The Hunchback of Notre Dame
1995
Balto Pocahontas Toy Story
Winner: Toy Story
1994
The Lion King The Pagemaster The Swan Princess
Winner: The Lion King
1993
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm The Nightmare Before Christmas Once Upon a Forest The Theif and the Cobbler We're Back: A Dinosaur's Story
Winner: The Nightmare Before Christmas
1992
Aladdin Bebe's Kids Ferngully: The Last Rainforest
Winner: Aladdin
1991
Beauty and the Beast Rock-A-Doodle Rover Dangerfield
Winner: Beauty and the Beast
1990
Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might Jetsons: The Movie The Mind's Eye
Winner: Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might
1989
All Dogs Go to Heaven The Little Mermaid Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumber Land
Winner: The Little Mermaid
1988
The Land Before Time Oliver and Company Who Framed Roger Rabbit
Winner: Who Framed Roger Rabbit
If anyone would like to add on to this, feel free to.

Okay I think these movies are pretty much the nominees for Best Animated Feature of 2010:
Despicable Me (Universal) How to Train Your Dragon (DreamWorks) The Illusionist (Sony) (French-British foreign film) Tangled (Disney) Toy Story 3 (Pixar)
Well I don't see Megamind so Belchic was right. Shrek Forever After...well, Shrek the Third wasn't even nominated back in 2007 so RaceFan was right--it was a cash grab.

Hmm, For 2010 Animated... My Bets are most likely going to aim for, Toy Story. ;3
The Film has been greatly acclaimed and I also saw, It can #2 as greatest family Films of 2001 to 2010.
So, Yeah, for 2010 Awards, my bets on TS3.
What you, Pups think? X3

Looking at Trey's list, I see that I got 3 out of 5 of them right. I had a feeling "Alpha and Omega" wouldn't make it considering how poorly it did in the box office. I also had a feeling that there would be a foreign film in there that I haven't heard of, which there was.

Toy Story 3 was good, and will most likely win simply because it's Toy Story and the general consensus are likely too ignorant to allow any other film to win, but I hope HTTYD wins.
With Toy Story...it's Toy Story. We already knew what would happen. We knew the characters. Dreamworks have only had one film on HTTYD so far, so they haven't had as much time for character development, but they did a darn good job with what they had. And don't the story was much more original as well (even if it is based off of the book).
I wish Megamind was nominated though. Hands down the best movie of the year for me.

I said this before, and I'll say it again. I wouldn't be surprised if Toy Story 3 won for Best Picture! If it did, this would not only be the first time in history that an animated film won for Best Picture, but also a Disney film!

I'm probably in the minority. But I don't think Toy Story 3 deserves to win.
For one thing, it's an animated sequel. That alone is its sin; the academy never once gave the award to an animated movie probably because animation already has the emotional drive on its side; they don't want animation to suddenly overtake live-action film. At the same time, the academy doesn't tend to look very highly on sequels. You can justify it however you want: it was funny, heartfelt, inventive, etc. That still doesn't excuse Toy Story 3 from the fact it's still more of the same movie that you saw back in 1995.
Case in point: in 2001 Shrek won. It wasn't that great a movie but it deserved to win over Monsters, Inc. and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
In 2004 Shrek 2 was nominated but lost to The Incredibles. I thought Shrek 2 was going to win considering I thought it was a lot better than the first movie, which already won, and The Incredibles, truth be told I've only seen once, but I think the sequel status interfered.
Plotwise, the appeal of Toy Story was that as a child, you loved your toys and played with them all the time. Simultaneously, you knew when you weren't looking, your toys came alive and had adventures all their own; yet somehow they always remained in the last place you left them. Toy Story 2 gave us more of the same, and as Belchic says, probably would have lost to Tarzan.
But now for Toy Story 3, Andy is now starting college and...what, does he still think his toys come alive when he's not looking? More to the point why would a kid now starting college have left a bunch of dusty old toys in a toybox in his room? I don't know, I think he probably would have adopted an interest in girls or something. Wouldn't he have exiled them to the attic the moment he turned 13? Now of course we are supposed to care about the toys and Andy is a backdrop for them, but I had to get that out of the way.
I think How to Train Your Dragon probably will win.

The Academy, in all their stuck up glory, may not look highly on sequels but the fact is they still get nominated and win if they are a truely a good film. Both Godfather Part II and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King won best picture after all. And Sigorney Weaver earned a Best Actress nomination for Aliens.

You do make some good points there, Trey, but you got to remember how well the movie did in the box office, how much the critics loved it, and how much the fans loved it; with that said, TS3 may have a very very strong chance of winning, regardless of it being a sequel or not.
